    Really enjoying your content. I’m just about to start my TEFL and I’m flying out next month, first to Bangkok, and then to Phnom Penh, with a view to starting a new life. I’m getting old now, and I think this could be for me. Thanks for the video. This is my new favourite channel.

    Good summary. I just came back and stayed in the Riverside area wiithout realising there are better areas like BKK. Don't forget to mention you cant drink the water which is a big inconvenience for westerners used to clean tap water. Ill be back next year.

      Hey 👋we do expat relocation consulting and can line up reliable employment contacts. You can reach me on the Facebook fan page if that's of value. I have been here for a few interesting solar events. The significance it takes on in SEA is really something to witness. I was at That Luang Festival In Laos last year. Surreal.

      @@rebornabroad thanks for the offer! I found you on Facebook first, actually. I'm assuming you're doing this as a business for some revenue and not freely as a favor? Haha anyway I may not be the target audience; I've been an expat before. Coincidentally, also 7 years in China, like I think I saw you mention. 😇 But I'm still down to connect. Friendly and all. I see you said you're not gonna be in Cambodia long, if I understood correctly? Then again, I guess everything in life is temporary, haha. Cheers ✌🏼

    I was in Phnom Penh a bunch last year (2023) and the air pollution combo of crop burning and the million inefficient tuk tuk motors was crushing! What was weird is that it didn't super hit until about May! I don't know if there is a way to fig out when the max pm2.5 is hitting in any given year.

    You have Southeast Asia covered. I bet you have a ton of miscellaneous knowledge and wisdom in general when it comes to living abroad and living nomadically in a series of countries.
    I feel like I could easily come up with a lot of Bogotá, Colombia content to talk about. (Considering it). But you've got almost all of SEA covered at least generally.
    Once the brain gets older and more full though it gets harder to gather up all the relevant information and treat it in the same way as if your database of knowledge and skills was much smaller and you were still younger and less experienced
    ..at least from what I gather, and from my experience

    • @rebornabroad
      @rebornabroad  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I think the best way is to just start and figure it out as you go. Youe will get better as you do it. Just need to be in a place and talk about your experiences and perspectives on the place. You will find an audience

      Haha, I have to redo my background check since the arrested the head of the ministry of police all background checks are now void under him, but yeah, my wp is nearly done. Vietnamese government has made this a long annoying process. I will get my wp, but to be honest, I am not sure I want to head back to Vietnam. I am thinking of Europe or India after here, maybe nepal again or something in that direction, but either way, it will be good to have it in case I ever need to dip back

    It is an expensive country. That could have been avoided too, until it becomes possible to see that a small group of people are responisible for it. I don't buy the story it's because they have to import food and other things. If so then it doesn't make sense the condo and house prices are still so cheap. People always are quick to say the building materials have a high cost and tax but I don't believe it since the actual house or apartment selling prices are still very low, for now. On a $90,000 condo they'll charge $1200 rent. I guess it is good for the owner but not for the renter or anyone else. Just helping someone else increase their net worth while that the net worth of one's self does the opposite.

    • @rebornabroad
      @rebornabroad  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's not expensive here at all compared to Saigon. I pay under $500 a month for a 80sq meter one bedroom with a balcony, view, and crazy rooftop pool (steam, suana). You'd never get that in Saigon under $700 right now. Also, PP has the cheapest wrdtenr food in SEA. Cheap Italian, Mexican, you name it because of the ease of doing business. Agree about power being overpriced and groceries, etc, but visa is very cheap for the region. Easy for foreigners to own a business compared to the neighborhoods. Cheap real-estate if you know where to find it. Cheap food if you know where to go also. It's not an easy city for beginners, but u been in SEA pretty long, and I see some clear advantages here for sure. I always like to come spend some time here.

    Does reborn abroad imply that you've come to Christ? Always hoped you would overcome those marxist vibes =P

    • @rebornabroad
      @rebornabroad  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      I'm not a fan of your Sky Wizard, sorry. I'm not a Marxist either. I mean, I support things like socialized healthcare and ending wars. America investing in infrastructure rather than wars if that's Marxist I don't know. I used to think I was on the left, but these woke people hate working class people and have totally alienated me. I think in a sane world, I am left of center on economic issues and right of center on cultural issues. I am very live and let live but don't want gener ideology pushed on children, etc. So, in today's world, that would make me on the right. I have no problem with religious people, but I have no interest in it being pushed on society or me anymore than I do these social justice warrior types pushing their garbage. I am a capitalist, but I do believe the more extreme sides of capitalism should be regulated. Like monopoly. So if you think that's Marxism, I don't know what to tell you. I see value in some things on the left and some things on the right. Before this insane woke, stuff started to happen. I'd have been considered maybe a social Democrat now my views on race and all the woke stuff would likely have me on the right.

      @@rebornabroad I'm glad you don't want to be associated with the radical left. When we met in person, i got the impression you identified as a Marxist back then. We know the "sky wizard" exists because god sent down his son, did you know there were 500 witnesses to him coming back from the dead? if that's not empirical evidence I don't know what is!

      Random spun out twerker. He said, "What's your problem?" I said something like "we don't have one. We don't even know you," and he grumbled some curses and walked off. Random things can happen in Phnom Penh. There were lots of drugged out crazy people. It's mostly around riverside, but it's a small town. So they can pop up anywhere
