21 days clean. I was in the use to not get sick cycle. Pawned everything I had, cold checks and ended up with a warrant and serving 5 days in jail where I detoxed. 21 days under me now but everyday is a struggle. My spouse my son and my parents have been hurt and I came clean with all of them. I watch these videos every day

As the loved one of an addict, it is always appreciated when you speak in your videos about why addicts do things that (to a non-addict) don't make sense. Your statement, "Not so much so chasing the high, it was running from the sickness" made so MANY things that my loved one has done make SO much more sense. Thank you Ryan!

Good video. One of the major TV networks should really give Ryan a weekly TV show, and pay Ryan a good $10,000 a week. :)

This was an amazing video. I loved the feelings shared of the vulnerability of "what ifs". We all need to give ourselves more grace. In recovery and sobriety.. Shit happens and it's how we pick ourselves up that gives us more knowledge and to be stronger than we ever have. Thanks Ryan:)

Wow ! Great point , Ryan . I feel that there is not enough focus on what opiates do to the brain and especially while in withdrawal . I believe opiate addiction has to be treated from all sides . Physical especially the acute phase but the mental phase is the most important and the most ignored . This is were the community has to come together and educated the public . I feel that my obsession for things fueled my use . I can now go back and realize how I was obsessed with practicing music , collecting records etc etc . When I took a opiate that gave me a feeling those hobbies and dreams gave me x 10 , it was over . Those hobbies couldn't compete with the opiates . I could keep going but you get the point . Thanks for all you do brotha man !!!

I guess I never really got in trouble with the law but yeah its when I was the biggest pain in the ass to others around me (when I was dope sick). In the end I never really did get high it was just to keep myself feeling normal. Hope everyone has a great new year.

Ya I used to be one of those ppl who would black out when I drank as well unfortunately, and w opiates man that was a different demon in itself and I loved it, so much so that ALL opiates that I could get my hands on became my God sadly. Great job Matt, keep up the great work! Good stuff

How do you get your energy up after coming off opiates? That was one of my major reasons for staying on them so long bc I never have energy and opiates always gave me so much energy.

I'm running from the sickness every day.. especially because not only do I get violently ill and puke every 10 minutes but also because I live alone and can't afford to miss work I only get one day off each month and it's hard to think that that one day is going to be spent puking my guts up and in pain then I have to somehow figure out how to make it to work on the second day but I'm so tired of fearing the sickness every day :(

And I could totally relate to the alcohol reaction.. I was a pretty stupid drunk

  • @Leesha_B88

Ryan- great point with the alcohol! I agree it's a drug that makes you do really stupid and embarassing things. ironically I'm uploading a video on my channel about alcohol that I made earlier in the day. keep doing what you're doing, Ryan! I really want to try a cleansing supplement for my liver that has been beaten up my all the Acetaminophen in the norco I used to take. Any suggestions on what I should try from Vitamin Support.com? thanks!
