AR integrated into your car windshield would be the greatest practical use of AR I can think of, A little line on the road telling you which road to take, what speed limit, information on a town when entering it... So many uses.

I know you could only cover so much but I think you missed a big application of ar: filters. They span' so many different applications (Snapchat, Tiktok, Instagram, etc. ) and affect so many users.
I am so excited for the future of AR/VR technologies. You also have to remember that many were skeptical about smart phones when they first appeared. People generally dont like change, And integrating AR in to our everyday life would be a big change.
Already someone working on Ghost in the Shell brain hard drives, has been for a few years now. We are going to get that plug in the back of the neck some how, my bet is going to be on that route since he has by far the furthest head start.

The city centre where I live has tons of cameras, the bus I take to work has cameras, the hospital where I work has cameras. We're already on camera most of the day.
i grew up playing an n64 and during the course of my lifetime ive seen technology advance from walkmen to discmen to smartphones. technology, now that it has the power of computers and the internet, is moving faster than it ever has before. seriously, the potential that the internet provides makes the printing press look like a speedbump on the journey of human progress. welcome to the future, everyone.
So what the dude is saying worst case scenario we all become "slaves" that can not even see anything, soon to be unable to tell reality from a screen. The best case scenario is we get rid of the glass from a phone.
I love these vids, Phil, please don't ever stop. 😊 I am completely in the middle. AR is fascinating, but also frightening to me. I love how technology can improve our lives and make things more fun and helpful. On the flipside; I don't need any more of my personal info being tossed out there like confetti for more annoying ads and harassing phone calls. I'll also being making a switch to apple. I didn't know how invasive and reckless google really was with our personal info.
As a person who is studying Cloud Computing this is an amazing video. I think the deciding factor for this will be the quality of service that AR will provide and if people will deem it worth losing some or in worse case scenario all of their privacy. IMO its inevitable, that this will take place and the growth of such technologies will rise exponentially with the advancement of quantum processor. The professor who mentioned a dystopian future as in black mirror knows exactly how dangerous having such private data out in the public.
I think that the transition for the add at the end was a little to abrupt. However, I am thankful that for this morning deep dives you are having sponsors help you fund them. And it was placed at the end of the video in a rather unobtrusive. I think that these deep dives offer something valuable to the youtube space and I am glad to see anything that makes them more sustainable to make.
1: Robotics;Notes is a show about the good and bad potentials of AR 2: as for the mall map, most likely the directions would lead you past more merchandise like how shop layouts are set up currently in an attempt to make you buy more, rather than being straightforward directions
There was an app that I used when I first an iPhone roughly 6 years ago. It was a keyboard that was over a live feed of my back camera. I could text and walk without fearing I would run into or trip over anything. I stopped using it after I realized it drained my battery. So in addition to all the privacy fears, another problem is the increased/continual usage would severely impact the battery life of a device.
The worst case scenario that I have seen for AR is ad space. Imagine not being able to see where you are going because of an ad that pops up trying to get your attention... Privately-owned vs public owned spaces will be very weird to navigate....

holy sh- thats genius
NOOOO! Do not do drugs!
smoked 1/2 oz, is that enough coz im still not seeing a picasso's painting on my walls
@@TheKazzarry try a mushroom. 😏
Thank you for these extra videos Philip James Franchini Jr.
HOLY @#$& THIS IS THE MATRIX! You cant take me ! I've seen the movies!
eeeeh more like johnny mnemonic than the matrix if you ask me
Gonna go with excitedly scared phil. I try to b hopeful for things like this even though im at the age it takes me a while to catch on. But to see where it is when my kids grow up or how this will affect the lives of their kids. Whether or not as people it brings us together or further separates us from each other and what we call "reality' vs what their "reality" will b. .... Thanks for the 'morning dives'. Love it
Good morning you beautiful bastards. Hope you have a wonderful day.
Love these morning shows!
Just got back from an Animation class at uni where we were discussing this same issue. 😂 Views were pretty split between 'Don't be tecnophobic this could revolutionize and make everything better' and 'This is interesting but wtf though, this is really scary??'
AR integrated into your car windshield would be the greatest practical use of AR I can think of, A little line on the road telling you which road to take, what speed limit, information on a town when entering it... So many uses.
AR is not something i really care for, im much more waiting for more development for VR
- "How do we map out the entire world without having to pay a bunch of people?"
- "Alright this might sound crazy, but bare with me... I call it Pokémon Go"
- "brilliant!"
I know you could only cover so much but I think you missed a big application of ar: filters. They span' so many different applications (Snapchat, Tiktok, Instagram, etc. ) and affect so many users.
ar filters are mostly just a form of vanity if you ask me...
but least it lets me know who to avoid on dating websites.. XD
I am so excited for the future of AR/VR technologies. You also have to remember that many were skeptical about smart phones when they first appeared. People generally dont like change, And integrating AR in to our everyday life would be a big change.
Next up,
A way to get even CLOSER to AR , plugs in the back of your head. Oh hi Neo.
Already someone working on Ghost in the Shell brain hard drives, has been for a few years now. We are going to get that plug in the back of the neck some how, my bet is going to be on that route since he has by far the furthest head start.
For my college project we're building and AR app that helps people learn how to do complex haircuts like skin fades and so on, it's shows a user thr guidelines on where to cut the hair.
Always wen he says my name is Phillip I think MY NAME IS JEF XD
I just wanted to say, typically when I watch these deep dives you have started to do on your channel that involve a lot of interviews and data points I often forget I am watching a Philip DeFranco video. Unless you are edited in to clarify a point I sometimes think I am watching a documentary series, which I think speaks volumes to the level of quality you work towards ingraining into your channel.
You need to go back on first we feast! 😁 you killed it last time 👍
Love your morning vids, GREAT INFO! Thank you Phil!!
We need this tech in IKEA stores.
Holy shit are they hard to navigate, designed by master mind maze makers.
God forbid a fire were to start in one of their stores. RIP EVERYONE inside.
SunnyZ I went for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I was lost for about 20 mins.
@@SniperWolf895 xD yeah it's terrible!
Gotta be some kind of safety hazard in their shitty store design...
You’d think they would have maps to help navigate. Like an amusement park.
They got arrows on the floor that show you which way to go. D:
It's the morning time for me it's 9:30 it's good to be informed throughout the day to specially when I wake up
Also, they need a better name than Augmented Reality. I nominate the term "Virtuality"
The part that excites me the most is that I could use it to find important things that I’ve lost. Like find my iphone but for your keys and everything else
The city centre where I live has tons of cameras, the bus I take to work has cameras, the hospital where I work has cameras.
We're already on camera most of the day.
So happy to have 2 shows - this is my evening/night show in Korea!
I can't wait for the day where instead of playing a game with a controller you are in the game playing as the charecter/you
J Drako but then you would never want to be out of the game haha
@@danieltaylor3625 true very true
@@ApesAmongUs true but it would be nice to be kratos or link hell even doom guy.
ApesAmongUs What sport can I fight a dragon in?? And who’s been keeping this information from me??
i grew up playing an n64 and during the course of my lifetime ive seen technology advance from walkmen to discmen to smartphones. technology, now that it has the power of computers and the internet, is moving faster than it ever has before. seriously, the potential that the internet provides makes the printing press look like a speedbump on the journey of human progress. welcome to the future, everyone.
So what the dude is saying worst case scenario we all become "slaves" that can not even see anything, soon to be unable to tell reality from a screen. The best case scenario is we get rid of the glass from a phone.
I love these vids, Phil, please don't ever stop. 😊
I am completely in the middle.
With every new phone, the 1st thing I do is block the mic ability and put tape over the camera. Who, me? Paranoid? Pfft.
Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they're not after me.

GOOD MORNING PHIL! Best way to wake up is to an extra morning news video :')
Extra early Philly D
Talks about privacy
AR and the data streams
How it effects you and me
Possibly.
Or better yet probably
It's not that hard to see
What with current society
And dependence on technology
Honestly
Augmented reality
Surrealist banality
The doors of perception
Windowed by deception
What does this have to do with you and me?
As a person who is studying Cloud Computing this is an amazing video. I think the deciding factor for this will be the quality of service that AR will provide and if people will deem it worth losing some or in worse case scenario all of their privacy. IMO its inevitable, that this will take place and the growth of such technologies will rise exponentially with the advancement of quantum processor. The professor who mentioned a dystopian future as in black mirror knows exactly how dangerous having such private data out in the public.
Phil, y u no reapply sunblock?
That short film was very busy, but looked very informative. Great video guys.
Yugioh battles sound fun lol I haven’t played since I was a kid but if AR was a thing then it would be awesome
I'd start playing again if that came out.
Sorry for being a weeb, but shit we are really a step away from Ordinal Scale.
U mean SAO,ALO,Accel World,Espera,Royal Garden...i could go on for an hour ..
SAO would be cool, but it's a long way away, before we can literally project the Game straight into our brain, like if we were dreaming the game.
@@caseyjones8246 Ordinal scale used Ar
Abhishek Singh
XD I say Ordinal Scale cause the movie uses AR tech which is what the news was about. Rather than SAO/ALO that use and focus on VR.
1: Robotics;Notes is a show about the good and bad potentials of AR
2: as for the mall map, most likely the directions would lead you past more merchandise like how shop layouts are set up currently in an attempt to make you buy more, rather than being straightforward directions
That's great and all, but ... can it be used for Porn?
Plus, it can probably recognize and map your body.
Hello my fellow beautiful bastards!
I'm just imagining like a we happy few scenario but instead of taking a pill you put on a pair of glasses
I would try to be an ar TH-camr but I’m just bad at games (anyone else lol)
So I’m probably just gonna do my regular stuff😂
Hahaha, I'm just too poor for AR.
I remember seeing a video of atoms changing if they're being observed by a human, this is how they're explaining AR.
Link?
It’s my birthday today can I get a happy Birthday
Happy birthday from Australia
Happy Birthday from Ontario dude!
Andrew Ace thanks
Tristan Thomas thank you
The worst case scenario that I have seen for AR is ad space. Imagine not being able to see where you are going because of an ad that pops up trying to get your attention... Privately-owned vs public owned spaces will be very weird to navigate....
There is a much more interesting and influential technology to talk about; AI
Phillip: hello, hello
Me, my nose pressed against the screen, breathing heavily: HI PHILLIP
