    Just found your great channel and subbed.👍
    We purchased a 2019 barely used Grand Design Reflection 28bh in March of this year. We are retired an due to covid we decided to put our rig in a static spot in a nice local RV Park so we could use it for long weekends every week. Our grandsons love staying in the camper as well.
    We have the x-chocks and vent covers on our rig. We have a different model of Line analyzer / surge protector but imo they are the first thing to by before ever hooking your rig to power. I am amazed to see how few people have them. In fact the fella parked next to us had a power surge take out his converter during hurricane Sally and he STILL hasn’t purchased one. 🙄

    • @ChadwickFamilyFilms
      @ChadwickFamilyFilms  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally agree about the surge protector being the first thing you should buy. Still blows my mind when I see people without one. I’ve heard of so many stories like the one you shared.

    Hey guys would love to hear about the towing experience. What motor did the F150 come with. How are the climbs and mph & mpg averages at your overall normal cruising speed. How about sway control. So i noticed your bathroom has no sink.. Hows that work everyone using kitchen, or spit in the toilet.. God Bless .. Shout out from Miami, Fla.

    Awesome videos, thanks. We are looking at buying a Micro Minnie. What hitch do you use?

    • @ChadwickFamilyFilms
      @ChadwickFamilyFilms  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thanks for checking our channel out - We were sold the equalizer E2 hitch from our dealer. It does what it is supposed to and shifts the weight to the front of the truck just fine. However - I can't 100% recommend it because the L brackets that attach to the trailer frame have needed to be re-tightened to their spec torque about 3-5 times already this summer. They just work a little loose and then become set at a slight angle which makes noise when we turn. Not a huge deal so I'm not going to change this, but I would see what all the options are. I think for the price it's not a bad weight distribution hitch. Hopefully this is helpful info. A buddy of mine has the E4 and it can take a bit of a heavier trailer load more easily, but both are good products.

    Love the video! What stabilizers are you using that you mention in the video in addition to the xchocks? Our kids also shake our 2100bh when sleeping in the bunks.

    • @ChadwickFamilyFilms
      @ChadwickFamilyFilms  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We use the stabilizers that came attached to the rig (the ones you hand crank down), and then add the x-chocks for extra support. It doesn’t get rid of all of the shake , but it does help tremendously.

    Great video guys. What speed do you tow your trailer on the freeway? Thanks

    • @ChadwickFamilyFilms
      @ChadwickFamilyFilms  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We never go over 65mph because that’s what the tires are rated for. So far, so good!

    Ashley, how else do you store your wine?!
    I love a good wine slushy 😉, but a solid red with a smore also hits the spot, after a day with the boys.

    • @ashleyshoults
      @ashleyshoults 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm with you, Christina. Red wine and smores make a great pair. I have not figured out a great place to store my red wine. I usually jsut lay it down flat in the cabinet above the sink. We have enough stuff int there that it won't roll around too much during travel, so it has worked out well, but i want to find a better way to travel with it. The one tip I can tell you is that I've found it is better to find wine with the twist off caps rather than a cork so that you can reseal it well when you head home or change campsites!

    I noticed your truck has an open bed and you hauled stuffs in it. Do you secure them or do you just leave them exposed?
    I have an open bed pickup, too. I haul a portable 3000-watt generator with a 5 gallon gas tank and a 5 gallon water tank for boondocking. I use small chain and a lock to secure them.

    • @ChadwickFamilyFilms
      @ChadwickFamilyFilms  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use cam straps/ratchet straps to secure everything down so it doesn’t move around back there. And then I also have a cable and padlock to lock the bikes and generator to the truck when needed.

      We have a Ford F-150 with the 3.7L Ecoboost Engine and Max Towing Package. It pulls our little trailer fantastically.

    Does the X chock actually stabilize the trailer? Have you tried it without the stabilizers?

    • @ChadwickFamilyFilms
      @ChadwickFamilyFilms  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Never tried it with just the x-chocks and no stabilizers, so not sure if it would work. But I do feel like the x-chocks add and additional level of stabilization beyond just the stabilizers themselves. It’s not overly dramatic, but still noticeable.

  • @cullinan18
    @cullinan18 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Please always still use regular chocks, even when using X-Chocks. They are not meant to replace regular chocks.

    • @ChadwickFamilyFilms
      @ChadwickFamilyFilms  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. We absolutely do use both. We actually only use the X-chocks for extra stabilization, and use regular chocks for the actual chocking.
