This is such a wonderful gift to the families of these folks who went to their rest so many years ago! Thank you to both of the Roberts who offer this service of love and respect to their community.
Other Robert you are so awesome to do all that work. We really appreciate your care and concern for these old stones. You and Robert Wright are very old souls in young bodies. There are a lot of people smiling down on you because you brought there memories back to the forefront. Thank you so much for taking us along. We love it. Donna/Michigan

Martha’s stone looks amazing 2 months later.I agree, distilled or rain water is the way to go.Tap water is loaded with chemicals that can react with the ingredients.Hopper is such a good dog.👍🏻
Awesome before and after with the other Robert and the headstone. Ther D2 works great and best thing to use when restoring any headstone. Thank you so much Robert, for doing this. God bless you, and again thank you.
A great job there Robert. I tried wet and forget here in England but it was a no from me. D/2 in a sprayer, brush in hand and the sun on your back and you can't go wrong.
Well other robert you are getting a real professional at doing that job it's good of you doing the headstones 🪦 👏 all the best 👍 Andrew south wales uk 👍 👌 😀 🇬🇧
You can also get a product used in the aquarium trade that will neutralize chlorine and chloromins used in most tap water. It's completely safe with the products you are using. 👍🏻🙂 The other product you're using that you just spray on, you need to thoroughly saturate the entire surface for it to work better. 😅 I use it here with our old area of the cemetery with excellent results. I usually do 2 sprayings though, seems to work better. 👍🏻
Am watching from d Philippines. Its 1:25am, just woke up n cant go back to sleep so when i opened my youtube, this is what i saw. I admire your patience n hard work taking time cleaning tombstones. And the cemetery looks good, grasses are well trimmed. Your dog is your faithful buddy. Good job .
Great video and you do good work. I have been using d2 and wet and forget for the past handful of years. I always clean/scrub the stone with product and then spray and revisit in a month. D2 works best but ive also had great results with wet and forget. Price wise....im seeing better results if you weigh in the $. I simply can't afford to keep using D2
Supposedly, both cleaners use the same type of quaternary ammonia cleaner. Probably the difference is the brush. The brush gives cleaner a head start by removing the top layer. Try the Wet&Forget with a brush and see if it makes a difference.
I use a brush with my wet and forget and it work great. I start with water first, wet and forget and brush, I rinse and then spray it down and leave it.
Really interesting comparison with the D2 and the Wet and Forget! It looks like D2 is the winner so far. I had to laugh at myself a bit, when Other Robert's spraying style was too haphazard, and he kept missing spots! Focus, Other Robert!! More pressure! Cover one surface before moving on to the next! I think it's my ADHD talking. Hugs to Hopper!
Have you tried using a brush with the Wet and Forget? I know the name says you don't have too but it may speed up the process. It's hard to compare the 2 products when scrub one but not the other
@@lillparrish1292 I have used both products. Wet and Forget just did not clean. I have used it on my lanai furniture and the mold and mildew wasn’t gone. D2 is the best. You don’t have to use a brush with D2 if you don’t want to, but, brushed, rinsed and sprayed one more time gets rid of the mold.
My son and I have a YT channel cleaning stones and we recently found an old, small, pretty much abandoned cemetery and plan to clean it all out and post the process.
Awesome job! D2 is just amazing. We use it at a cemetery where I used to volunteer. If you have a military headstone with red clay or grass stains, the D2 will clean it as bright as new.
I wonder if distilled water would be the closest to rain water. My granny used to wash her hair from water in a rain barrel. Her hair was so soft and beautiful!!!
I used Wet It and Forget It on my paver patio, there was a lot of green moss and algae. It took several months but I was very pleased with the results and it is still moss and algae free two years later.
I agree Robert I like the D2 for the great results. You and Robert got cleaning headstones here in California and I love it thank you. I’m a patron from the early old Byrd farm days.
I think you will get a variety of changes depending on the amount of moss, algae etc that has accumulated over time. We use Wet & Forget for cleaning most things outside here in New Zealand. Probably because the product is made here. Usually an annual “spring clean” will keep everything nice and bright. Wonder if over time and with repeated treatments the headstones will continue to improve. It is certainly a lot less labour intensive and therefore easier to apply. Would love to get into our local cemetery to start cleaning some of the older graves.
I've used both d2 and w&f. I clean the stones the same way. Wet with water, spray with d2 or wf, give it a mild scrub, let sit 10 min, then rinse. After 4-6 weeks the stones like almost identical with either cleaner. Thanks for sharing the vid!!!
I've used Wet & Forget. If you use it, don't think it's going to work in 2-3 months because it doesn't. It takes close to a year, but it cleaned up the stones I sprayed. I spray them in the Spring and Fall and once they're clean, I spray once per year.
" HOPPER " Lol!! I love the name, it's the first time I seen your dog, at certain angles I saw him, but couldn't tell if it was a real dog or statue, because I didn't see him move at all. He's a very good-looking dog. I love dogs.

Use Dawn to scrub the actual physical dirt and grime off the stone works very well. Then depending on the stone granite vs marble use D/2 or Wet and Forget to pursue the internal staining. Money saving when doing any kind of volume or size stones.
I had a local church cemetery contact me about cleaning some headstones. When I went to clean one, they asked me to do one beside the one they had someone come in and sandblast to clean! I’ll stick with water and D2. It may not look as white, but I won’t be affecting the integrity of the stone.
Your results with the W&F are the same as mine...not much. I have seen people use it and scrub (rather than just leaving it) and it seems to work ok that way some of the time. I also know a guy that “pre treats” all of his stones with W&F then comes back later and cleans with D2. The W&F does kill some biologcal growth and aids his D2 is his theory. I preferred the "before" picture for Martha more - it shows the patina of time, created by God.
The problem is, the patina looks good now, but if you don't take care of it now in 10 years you want be able to read it. The micro organisms grow into the pores of the stone and ruin it from inside out.
I’m inclined to disagree with unfiltered rain water full of pollen pollutants acids
Omgg I was born January 25 😭😭😭😭
Awesome job!
