    WOW. That was the most professionally done review of any Gear I've seen for a long time. Complete, no useless babling, packged with information, clear measurements, great illustrations, from start to finish all aspects thought carefully. No stones left unturned. I can only imagine all the editing work, time and effort that were put to it. Thank you!

    Alright, as an Electrical Engineer by grad level training and a couple of decades of experiences, I can tell that the testing regime is adequate for industrial purchase contracts (except for some of those converters, which are not used). In other words, for a consumer grade review this is of excellent caliber and quality. The checklist is extensive and granular. Great Show!

    Wow, what a great job, thanks a lot! But have U ever tried to use U3 as a wireless connection between the mixer (f.e. Yamaha MG12XU with XLR outputs) and active speakers? That´s the way I would like to use it.. BTW, what does it mean "cucumber of wisdom", pls? .)

    • @MaxSoloMusic
      @MaxSoloMusic  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey. I haven't tried that yet. Not on stage at least. But it should work. As long as the signal from the mixer is strong enough there shouldn't be much noise. Cucumber of wisdom is just another weird phrase at the end of my video. It doesn't really mean anything, although i usually try to describe the product with it.

    Cucumber of Wisdom: What a great review. This has got to be the most thorough and comprehensive reviews I've seen anywhere. Thank you, you did great job and I think we're all appreciative. It was long but no fluff and packed with information. Again, thank you. I too am trying to decide between this and the new Nux B-3 but the battery life and the line control I think has me sold on this .... I really want to be able to use this with a 3.5mm Lavalier ..... any thoughts on how I may be able to adapt to get that accomplished.

    • @MaxSoloMusic
      @MaxSoloMusic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't see other option other than making a custom adapter. Although, it's worth googling something like 3.5mm jack to XLR

  • @EmanuelSantiago

    You convinced me! I’m going to buy it! 36:29 What you did by using 2 receivers for the same signal means that you can extend the strength of the signal by placing one receiver 60 meters from the other and you would have 120 meters of safe area to move around without signal failures; 60 meters from the radius of the 1st receiver and 60 meters from the radius of the 2nd receiver. Haven’t you thought about doing that test to see if it works? I would do the experiment by placing a 60m cable in one of the console’s channels and connecting the second receiver to that cable, while I would connect the first receiver to another channel of that same console.

    Man you went above and beyond for this review... thank you :-) What's your opinion on the noise floor of the xvive u3 vs a wired connection? I just got a nux b-3 and the noise floor is pretty bad. Just wondering if the xvive u3 would be any better.

    • @MaxSoloMusic
      @MaxSoloMusic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks. I can imagine that b-3 and u3 are very similar units which probably have very similar specs. U3's signal to noise ratio is actually good, as long as the signal level is high enough the noise shouldn't be a problem

    • @paulgarcia983
      @paulgarcia983 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MaxSoloMusic Hello, I am also deciding on which to buy between the two (nux b3 or xvive u3). The main difference I notice in specs between the two is the sound resolution. Nux b3 has 32 bit and xvive u3 has 24 bit. Which would you say is best for vocals (live not for recording)? Thank you

    • @HowardOlsen
      @HowardOlsen 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@paulgarcia983 I'm also trying to decide between the two. Nux is less $$ but I've seen twice now a stress test on the battery that takes it to 9+ hours and the Xvive has a line input control so for the diff in $ I think it'll be the U3....

    Fast forward 3 years, and hi there! I have considered this device, but just ordered a similar device from CARVIN AUDIO, THE WM5. It is on sale for $159 plus shipping at this time. Can't wait to test it out, particularly if it generates more feedback than a wired microphone. I'll be using my Shure SM58 with it. The Xvive U3 sells for $199 on Amazon. Most comments have been good.

    This was a GREAT REVIEW. I'm glad it's still here. I'm thinking about getting this system for a mic on a stand. why? Because I use vintage amps and get shocked when I touch the mic. Now that won't happen (almost) ever anymore. I won't "touch" the PA. I'll plug the receiver in to the cable the sound man wants to plug into the mic. I like the idea of using it with a camera. I hope that was successful for Max. That distance test was AWESOME. ===== OH Wow. It's expensive to be a musician in Russia. Solidarity with my guitar and musician friends and fam in Russia. Some great players and gear makers there.

    Great review mate , But i think you may have missed a few potential issues that I watched for and didn't see. Having done many gigs and seen bad stuff happen ( like an amp going to dead short full power at 50hz, , the phantom power trap, (which you covered) , and disconnects under load. I always look at such devices to see where it could go wrong. The issue of all those buttons being available on the mic, and then handing it to a random person say at a wedding for a speech . They then have gain, power and channel control, at their fingertips. What could happen ? Even for a pro singer at a gig they could be knocked, What is the work around for that scenario? At worst, the gain gets flicked up and the PA feeds back , Thats really bad. or it just doesn't work due to channels not coinciding.(not so bad) Also how tough to knocks/water is it.
    I'm keen on the unit though and your review was stunningly technical and I applaud you for your knowledge and completeness. Thanks😀 !

    I don't understand the point: "Interference WIFI". If I use the Xvive u3 connected into my XR 18 console with my router wifi very close; the u3 will blocked the signal of my router??? This is something that everyone must know before buy this product. Today a lot of people use consoles with external routers wifi. Please can you explain me this point again? I want so much to buy this product but i have this doubt. Thanks!!

    I bought the same combination and I can't get any volume on the U3. No dramas with the U2 or U4. I haven't received any response from the company to my email. I tried the U3 on a PA, a Zoom UAC-2 USB 3 audio interface and a Voicelive 3 Extreme. No joy. On a mixer it has to be so high that it's drowned out by hiss. I've tried a Shure 58 and Shure 57. Puzzled.

    Thank you for the video, it was very helpful. Quick question, how would this work if I placed the transmitter in one of the master outs of my mixing board and then placed the receivers in PA speakers throughout a room. Assuming that works, do you imagine using more or less inputs on the mixer would impact the quality of the sound?

    Very good video. I use a headset condenser mike that takes its phantom power from my mixer. Would that still work if I used this instead of an xlr cable to connect mike to mixer.
    Also I presume would be fine with an acoustic guitar jack out by cable to DI box and then this to connect DI box to mixer?

    The tips to prevent interference says to keep 3 meteres (what ever a metere is?) distance between receiver and other Wi-fi transmitters. Does that mean if you used 3 separate units on the back of a mixer they could interfere with each other? If they meant meter thats 39 inches, a little more than a foot. So if using more than one unit they should be 3 feet away from each other to prevent interference?

      Hi. XVive units operate just as Wi-Fi devices, not Bluetooth. Yes, there may be interference with that kind of mixer's wireless unit. However, there are workarounds. Switching the mixer to 5G is one of them. I usually don't plug the receivers directly into the mixer but keep them a bit away with an XLR cable. That helps. There has to be at least a meter between an XVive receiver and another Wi-Fi device

    Hi! I would like to ask a question... Would you recommend this product to be used as line transmitter? For example, from a line audio to a main mixer. Or from a mixer to a speaker. I would like to use it as a live return transmitter from the main mixer to my personal mixer. What would you say about that? Thank you very much!

      Yeah, that was one of my ideas too. It should work, just make sure they aren't too far away from each other
