- In this explore, we visit The North Wales Hospital. It is a Grade II listed building in Denbigh, Denbighshire, Wales. Designed by architect Thomas Fulljames, building started in 1844 and completed in 1848. Initially a hospital for up to 200 people with psychiatric illness, by the mid-20th century it housed 1,500 patients. [Wikipedia]

Although we were caught by security, the chap was alright and showed us some parts of the hospital, along with the history while he escorted us off the premises.

Yes was such a shame we didn't get too see inside but the guy was friendly enough too tell us a bit of the history 😉 was awesome day out with you lot thanks 💖💖
Definitely was a shame although most of it is an empty shell so don’t think we missed much. And yeah the guy was a good sport. Great day, we’ll have to arrange something again soon for the summer 😁

Think about it, I mean it looks dangerous just taking one step inside, you would never know what could fall so I think that security guard didn’t want nothing happen to any of you so it ok that you couldn’t venture inside. I like the video 🙂

@@BlytheWorld1972 I think there were two of them doing each side but yeah a large area to cover. The tunnels would have been amazing!

To use a quote from Terminator they'll be back. I'd say that place was as close as you get to Hell on Earth in its hay day. I'm a skeptic when it comes to ghosts, but I wouldn't like that guards job at night.

What a amazing place it looks like a castle its a shame that the security guard did not let you just peak in some of the buildings and I have always wondered why they protect places that have falled to decay Iguess so no one destroys it further or they might be planning on fixing it up have a good week steve

whittingham asylum was the uk biggest asylum but its been demolished now
