Long time Gyro (J-i-ro) user here, you've made a well-made video explaining Gyro Aim. But I do feel like there are some things that need addressing. When it comes to the Gyro Button and Look Stick Effect, I want to use those settings because they're the inverse equivalent of lifting a mouse to pause the input. In Fortnite, I set the Gyro Off button to Toggle Pickaxe. There's also an option way down in the Touch and Motion menu to adjust the amount of time to hold down the Gyro Off Button. The default 0.2 seconds is good enough for me. It's a method called Gyro Ratcheting, and it'll get better when you put the practice to it. If you're using vehicles a lot, I suggest have Look Stick Effect to disable while using Flick Stick because sometimes the car controls like exiting vehicles, changing the radio can happen while trying to pause the gyro. Or you can unbind some vehicle actions that would conflict with the Gyro Off Button setting. Like what you said in the video, the Gyro Aim is a relatively new input method, so a lot of competitive players aren't trying it out because they got too used to their regular controllers or MnK. Slowly, but surely we're getting new games that have native gyro settings for future games on PS4 and PS5. Fortnite, The Finals, Helldivers 2, and Call of Duty HQ based games since MW2 are all the biggest examples that has the new Gyro aim method with decent to excellent implementation. And I hope someday we'd see more gamers that mainly use this method, and have controllers that can be made in favor of Gyro.
Try turning down the steadying and put your vertical sensitivity scale lower. A lot of people use 56% but you can mess with it. Also, I know it's probably just a bit of clickbait for attention grabbing, but gyro isn't OP. It just makes m&kb and controller very similar inputs, without the game doing any work for you.
Also, yes it is a soft G because it's short for Gyroscope. I am glad you made a video about it though. We want to spread awareness to the cause so to speak lol
I use Gyro on the Switch but I'll be playing on a PS4 soon. I'm not that great at stick aiming. For me Gyro improved my gameplay so much, I would never go back. The amount of people that hate on it is odd though. It's just another way to aim.. Like having a mouse in the air. Once you get used to it, it's awesome. I recently posted a short of Gyro aim training on my channel.
There’s something missing in your flick stick description. If you hold a direction, then glide the C stick along the edge, you can slowly turn side to side. Its my preferred way to play
It doesn't make sense that something with the kind of potential that you describe is being picked up by virtually no one. Because the pro scene is oversaturated, it would only make sense that people would try to find any kind of undiscovered advantage to put them ahead. Somebody would have given it enough practice by now and should have been able to show it's competitive worth and the fact that no one has yet, raises more questions about the matter.
nah like 99% of games dont have gyro option, so if ur coming from another game your unliekl to enable it. most people also never check their settings either which I why many casuals don't use it either. i also argue that gry is better than raw stick for fortnite, no kbm. 97% of FNCS players use KBM, so controller in general is not in the pro scene.
I played with gyro for almost a year and my overall mechanics were pretty good, but my aim was kinda meh, mainly because of the ps4 imput delay. For me just the fact that aim assist is not a thing on gyro makes it not worth it
