I've had the 8R for about two months. To use the Quick Shifter smoothly, you must accelerate when you upshift and give it NO THROTTLE when you downshift. If you are not accelerating when you upshift then it's clunky and if you are accelerating when you downshift, then it's clunky.
I just got the 8s last week and I noticed that to down shift you actually need to GIVE gas instead of cutting it off completely, if I try to downshift with no throttle it won't shift without using the clutch, I asked the service guys from my dealer they told me that you need to reve the bike while downshifting. Is your downshift smooth? I thought mine might be broken or something
Bought my GSX8R a month ago, has a 2WDW tune, akra exhaust with airbox mods from tst. after all said and done after my 600 mile service I took it to the track. I wont lie it absolutely rips out of corners out on track. My only complaint is the rear shock has a lot to be desired.

about the exhaust the 8S I rode had a Arrow exhaust and it sounded mean, it was a demo day and I had to double check if it was my bike or a bigger bike behind me but nope it was the 8S such a nice bike to ride I didn't bother with the quick shifter tho xD

Yeah, my bike has nothing, its made for city riding. It does good in city conditions. Its nimble, its reliable but it barely hits 100 in full tuck. 6'3 220 dude on an mt03 aint it but its a fun bike, im gonna keep it for a while though
I went from roanoke Virginia to Pigeon forge Tennessee on my gsx8s. I found I had to stop every hour or 60 to 70 miles. My ass got irritated as hell. Other than that, it's a kikass bike. 😊. My helmet tries to raise up off my head at about 85, too.
Everyone hopping on this GixxerEighter train. I cannot blame them though. Most fun bike with a practical street design that has come out in awhile (atleast fully faired). They definitely learned something from Kawis sport ergos, and the love for twin powered torque for daily commuters. This bike only lacks CC but the looks are far superior to anything new. This bike beats all others into the dust. Like... Wth was the point of a Ninja 500??? Modernization? Just redesign the 400 🙄

The only negative, imo, of the 8R is the extremely small rear compartment and tail. Why Suzuki? It’s nearly useless. It would look better with a larger tail.

I'm very serious about making this my first bike. At 31 and 300 pounds and 5' 11' I want something I can learn on and grow with and I felt like after sitting on a few different bike this wouod make a great 1st bike
Some of the characteristics of the 8R sound a bit like my SV650 (Freakin' Zuki 🤣). It's my first bike and I don't have any friends who ride. :( That mountain highway is like a 45 minute drive from me on a good day, but I wanna check it out sometime. Seems a waste to go alone though. 😭
I like the direction the motorcycle industry is going with these "middleweight" sport bikes. Perks of decades of R&D trying to make what people want "usuable street bike". If you want a track bike, those still exist lol. Not everyone needs an R6 etc screaming at 15k just to get to 2nd gear every where they go.... you all have "that" friend. Edit: me personally, my street bike taste lean more towards streetfighters like ktm 1390, ducati monster, mt09, 765r, list goes on for "sporty" street bikes. I think it's silly to squid in the road but to each their own! It's all highway racing here in Houston so most people lean towards busas and liter bikes for that roll race after dark.

The Ninja 650 is a staple of the category. Its also a good fun bike. I think the RS 660 is the best all around bike in the class. Great blend of weight, torque, style and good HP. Love mine. Have had no mechanical issues and can do anything on it from long rides to carving up twisty back roads.
@@DeepSouthMoto it is overall a good bike i owned one and a r7 r7 sounded better but the ninja to me with a pipe and tune felt more torquier a good pipe helps sound better and deeper but alot of people put the ebay specials and they sound loud as hell and absolute crap
@@michaelch6536 yea I have both the RS 660 and the Ninja 650. Was scared to death to buy the Aprilia at first. Ninja is fun but the 660 is better to me. One of my buds has an R7. Good bike also.

@@toomuchcoke101 My downshift is smooth if I lay off the throttle. If I'm on the throttle, it has trouble shifting. It will still do it, but jerks.

GSX 8S is a very awesome bike I rode it at saturday, it's a lot of torque it was so much fun, I will ride the 8R in July.

My 8R the shifter clunk is 98% eliminated at a hair over 500miles. Only seems to be getting smoother with usage and miles.
I also have a GSX-8S with an Akrapovic exhaust and the TST ECU flash. These bikes are so much fun for the streets.
Love my 8R, I'm throwing an Akra on it this week and getting a tune in May.
Finally I thought you will never have that 8R I wish it will come to the Philippines soon

I ride on a old sv650 2006 and yeah the naked version felt like home lots of torque a lot of fun.
