It was nice to see how they do thrift stores in Japan! Please don't add that music, there was no need for that, was way more interesting listening to your comments when you found cool sticks.
Proto means primitive, but prototype means a first or preliminary model. That term was used in sports car racing when I was following the sport in the late 70’s to 80’s. Great vid, felt I was there!
Awesome thrift. Kept pausing the vid looking for the PS Hyper Carbon Tour. Didn't see any, but there were a lot of cool racquets. I remember some kids using that Hammer Tour 4.0 when I was in High School. Next time I am in Japan, I'm going thrifting. 👍
Nope... Pure Drive Team is the 3rd Gen. PD 1st Gen PD Swirly PD Team The first one was release in 1994, and is used by Moya during his hole career and still used by Fognini.
I’m going to be traveling to Tokyo in 2 weeks and am excited to look for a Book Off. Can you (or anyone) recommend a place to play tennis and hit with a pro?
I like that Harry’s favorite racket brand is Yamaha. It makes me think he equates his racket stringing to stringing violins, cellos and other instruments of high art. Now if only an artist like Fed becomes number one again…
I've bought a babolat aeropro drive plus 2010 (60usd), prince diablo tour mid (30usd), and GET THIS a TGK231.2 for $40. It was from a used sports shop called PlayItAgainSports. Almost shat myself when I saw the prostock
Let's do the math: Amount in the no-question-ask account: $3,500 - $1,200 (Round-trip ticket to Japan) - $140 (A week in capsule hotel) = $2,160. That leaves me with 10 to 18 racquets that I can purchase. Himm...
WOW! A thrifters dream store! I would have blown my whole budget! Thanks for showing us Bookoff, Harry.
I would have easily walked out with like 4 rackets, especially that prostaff 97LS.
Great work, thank you! I new and interesting facts about the old versions of the racquets.
I looked up on Google it looks like proto were the first batch that came out before secrets in Japan

Yes, the music was unnecessary.

I have 6 of those old Pure Drive's. Still use them!!
The best racquet ever ,man
Good Informative video , unfortunately there is an issue reading properly . It is PROTO not PRONTO on the racquet .

Used to live close to there. Book Off is awesome
It's where i live now. Didn't know Bookoff has tennis gear.
the Pure drive "Team" that he showed was the second gen, the "Swirly" was first but they play Identically
Right
Nope... Pure Drive Team is the 3rd Gen.
PD 1st Gen
PD Swirly
PD Team

Released
love book off bazaar. we have one here in Sapporo on the west side of town. not as many rackets though.
The blue Pro Staff might be a celebration of the Laver Cup, team Europe use blue outfit and rackets at least Federer did.
If I had been there, others would have been laughing "check out the American pushing the grocery cart full of racquets."😂
Harry next time you go to o Japan do a video on "Soft Tennis". Popular sport there
I’m going to be traveling to Tokyo in 2 weeks and am excited to look for a Book Off. Can you (or anyone) recommend a place to play tennis and hit with a pro?
I'd be like a kid in a candy store.
wow we could use a place like that in the US, given how expensive tennis gear is these days
Wondering if i would be able to find a few pro staffs 6.0 85 there
hello, where can you practice tennis near Tokyo? let me know, thanks!!!!

Used racket...could there be something wrong with it internally? In the frame?
Did you buy the OG Pure Drive????
No wood rackets? Disappointed.
I believe Sabatini used the oversized version of that Yamaha racket.

Might have some trouble with space in a capsule hotel with that many racquets! 😆
@@jerome_morrow I guess, after tucking them in, I'll sleep on a park bench.
@@philanthropenos1074 No problem in Japan. Anywhere else in the world, sleep on a park bench might mean never waking up!
Can we have one of these stores here in the US?
Very cool video..😊
Like to have seen the PK selection.
Now babolat charges the most
It’s not Pronto. It PROTO as in prototype so all the racquets were called proto
I would have walked out with at least 12 sticks
Yonex R-22 Legendary The best on 80
I can't go to a place like this... it would be my complete bankruptcy.
He looks wrong without a hat
It’s tough when one is shaped like a giant egg.
Harry just needs to tan his head
I think the Last Airbender is stylin! 💯👍🏻😄
Yeah because that is relevant to the video 🙄
I thought you were going to buy a container full of oldies but goodies....
Gabriela Sabatini ❤
Laver cup may be a fake knock off. My buddy bought a knock off that looks just like that.
Nope.
The Blue PS Laver cup was released with 340, 315 and 290g.
All that fast forward camera work is making me feel ill ...
wow..that pure drive babolat ..
22 years old model,less than 10 dollars..hahaah
ineould buy 3 instantly
Alot of rackets but not at thrift store price. Maybe that's why so many rackets.
I see baseball gear!!!!
Yamaha P R O T O EX! Not ProNto.
Great racket selection didn’t care for the music 🙄
PrOtOe not Pronto
The masks look really bad after 3 years.
