- In this video we compare different types of "backbox's" from stock muffler to straight pipe. all tested on a stainless 63.5mm 2.5" steel exhaust.
the objective is show the boost pickup speed, with a low boost tune (1.5 bar relative) and some diesel enrichment just to see how fast the boost start to burn the initial extra fuel. this is only a test ecu tune, not a daily tune, not a performance tune at all...
stock muffler : the more restrictive is this video, specially on high flow requirments as a big turbo and larger exhaust, boost is slow to pickup due to poor flow. it's ok for the stock turbo.. kkk bv39 / 1749va/ 1749vb..
silencer: the ideal type of muffler to daily car with some mods, it does not hurt at all the performance, it mostly mutes exhaust sound.
Straight pipe: the best performance setup, specially on big turbo's. this is the fastest way to pickup boost easily, and you can go higher on boost and fuel ammounts.
the video does not do justice to real sound in person.

gearbox: FJW (long)
turbo: bmw GT 2260 VK
exhaust: complete 63.5mm (2.5") turbo back

when replacing stock resonator/muffler with straight-trough muffler / pipe ?
With stock and with chipped turbo-diesel engine.
Is there any lowend loss ?

Boas, melhorias, que se realmente notem bem atraves da alteracao de escape, so apos um certo nivel de outras alterações. para um carro totalmente stock, pouco muda alem do ruido, e permitir o turbo encher mais bruscamente e desse modo provocar ligeiros picos de pressão, devido a menor restrição de escape, mas de origem poderá não ser grave. No entanto, o ideal será reprogramar, tendo em conta o tipo de linha de escape( e qualquer outra alteração mecanica) de modo a corrigir possiveis desvios de pressão, e porque não aproveitar e tirar algum partido disso(+cv ;+nm). Hi! first it's a bigger turbo than stock, small turbo is more prone to make that sound, second that whoo sound is based on turbo control ( ecu + hardware) that may be a little diferent from car to car
I have the 2015 mk7 rline 1.6 tdi, and I really want to put the exhaust that will make it sound louder and as close as tsi as possible.
What mod do you guys recomend?
hi! not that close to a tsi, a diesel engine it's a diesel engine...but try to Remove DPF( replace it with a new inox downpipe ) remove stock muffler (backbox).

remember, if you remove dpf, you have to deactivate it from ecu file. you will have to remap your ecu. remap a ecu to remove dpf do not mean that you need to encrease any engine related parameter, you can remap only to remove DPF FUNCTION.

dude i have a mitsubishi colt di-d 1500 at stage 1,it has got now 130 ps and 29kg torque..these are my extras:program,air filter,dpf delete,new cat with 100 cpsi and a muffler..but i can get sound!i dont know what to do to get more bass sound...i only have bass sound between 2500-3300 rpm.but i got very nice blow off valve sound cuz i replace stock air filter with a huge cone air filter and i place it just over my turbocharger..tell me how i ll get bass sound

A panela silenciadora é uma personalizada em inox, 70mm. Essa que falas, serve bem numa linha de diametro original.

Boas podes-me dizer qual o silenciador que usas ? Pois eu ando com linha direta de 63 com ressoando da santerchips mas berra demasiado . E não queria por a panela final pois vou perder performance, é um carro de dia-a-dia no entanto , quero ter bom desempenho
