Yeah her responses were beautiful. That's what I really appreciate about people like her - they are willing to consider various perspectives and don't shame people for thinking differently. JP vtubers are very mature about subjects like this, many people, especially in Western sphere, could learn a lot from truly listening to them. Sadly even in this comment section you see people trying to spin some theories about her workplace or fans to force their narratives which are just missing the point.
I didn't really expect it, but Sakuna is actually very well spoken. Some of the questions chosen were quite tough to answer early after her debut, but she handles it with class. Also, the way she responded when she thinks the marshmallow came from a girl is gross lol (affectionate). I feel like I am witnessing the birth of Saku-Oji.
That last question really did hit me, the part when she said "Did they really abandoned you?" for me, at first glance she didnt "abandoned" us as it depends on the viewers too. I mean a certain onion even got in to the trouble signing our postcard without any limit, because she loved us and wants to make at the end worth it for everyone of us. So what Sakuna answered was well generalized depending on what people's mindset where at.
I drew similar comparison in pro wrestling regarding this matter. When big name wrestler leave their promotion to join other promotion or goes indies, it really test their fandom and where their loyalty is. Quick example happened really recently when some fans are missing Sasha Bank but she actually still active with the name Mercedes Mone. If they truly miss her, just watch her elsewhere.
Kson once tweet this a few days after Aqua graduate, "They don't go anywhere, if anything you are the one who left them" and guess what, she is absolutely right at the end.
I honestly think she just wanted the freedom to do her own things at her own pace. I doubt it was much more complicated than that. We don't know all the logistical nightmares that come with being part of what I refer to as "the machine." The machine has it's way of doing things and it's nearly impossible to change those way. Especially when the machine is successful. We've seen it before. A certain train conductor needed her freedom as well. It's a common story and not just for vtubers. Being a part of the corporate machine can be soul crushing. Sometimes walking away is the only option.
absolutely. when you remember how many layers of approval to have your game stream in those machine, some may even have to be prepared months prior even as a solo stream. ofc im not disregarding the benefit being in a part of a bigger thing, the amount of connection alone is worth it. but all in all everything has its caveat
i can see why that she left due to Perms Issue where it might take months to play that game on stream only to get shut down for whatever reasons from higher ups. if thats what she wants to play Any game on stream even if she had to sacrifice her Idol Career just for that, then i dont mind it. it felt like a ballsy move for her to Sacrifice Big things just to get Small things for her.
Pretty funny how there were people saying that she left because she didn't want to do idol stuff anymore, yet here she is saying that's exactly what she wants to do lol
This is why I hate it when people say "well, if you read between the lines..." Yeah, sometimes, but most of the time - and I know this is crazy - the message people want to communicate to you is THE MESSAGE THAT THEY TELL YOU
@@Rhenryie If you believe the statement, and I see no reason not to, she felt that what she wanted out of streaming was better suited to the indie vtuber format.

This is the Sakuna we know and love. For example, you may agree or disagree with her evaluation that she doesn't deserve the viewer count right now, that she wants to succeed only through her own ability. Sounds familiar? That's the way she's always been and there was never a moment this wasn't the case in her gaming history. DS, Sekiro, Apex, DQ11, etc... never any cheese and always fighting fair and square. Her character is consistent through all facets of her life and this is exactly why she is loved.
She has always been socially anxious but I did notice that she’s very mature, articulate with her words and is good at speaking when she has to be serious or have to lead. It peeks out sometimes and I sorta have whiplash whenever that happens lmao some other excerpt is when Gura said everyone (including staff) goes dead silent when Aqua speaks and everyone pays attention. Subaru also said that it’s Aqua who leads 2nd gen and has huge respects for her.
I remember first seeing a clip from her past form in a talking stream and it hit me how thoughtful she came off as. Sakutan seems to be a deep thinker.
She handled those questions extremely well. It is refreshing to see her answering those kind of questions, they are quite personal, they would probably not be allowed in Holo standards.

what i get from this seems like she just want to live a slow life, you can tell that being in holo was quite a challenge with how busy it was and how high the expectation, because it's all about "what next". so i feel like this will be a slow life journey.
Somehow, this made me think about them, who do this thing in this platform, using an avatar, and being as an idol of some sorts, that people adore and love, and follow. I am already becoming conflicted with what's the best on these people: be in a company that will boost your growth and success in its namesake, or through perseverance as an individual of your own. I've seen a lot of terminations, graduations, some surrounding issues on certain dark companies, on how people treat their coworkers or as friends, on some other companies that are ending its course/project.. and so forth. And this action coming from her is something that I really respect, and it kinda makes me smile on how mature and open-minded she really is. I just hope that people can grow, as an audience, even if they cherish this idol culture. Because these avatars they see and worship are just humans too, with some flaws, with some issues, and their own struggles in life as well. Internet is a great place to hangout, but sometimes, it really does make things to you that it isolates you for who you really are...
I think the separation between the character and the person behind it being seen as one of the greatest boons of Vtubing probably played a large role in this. Seems like more people focused on the benefits, but overlooked (perhaps semi-consciously) the downsides. In that regard, I don't think company Vtubers are alone, indies just had a headstart with shifting away from that idea since they have less to lose, less things tying them down, and ultimately there are simply more people of all kinds getting involved. It might just be the actual "fad" part of Vtubing that might soon fade away for the most part, with it becoming truly just another way to stream, no strings attached. Of course some people will choose to both stick to the idea for it's advantages as content creators and follow those content creators as audiences, but hopefully they will be doing so in full recognition of the trade-offs by then.
I really didn't like that last question. I agree with what she said. "Did they really abandon you?" Some people tend to forget that she's just a streamer online. Don't get me wrong, when I woke up to the news about her graduating, I was really sad, but I personally feel like it could've been phrased better. She didn't leave or abandon anyone. People come and go. Just enjoy the memories you've made with them while they're still around.
Its good that she is getting a lot of support but at the same time, having all those expectations and weigth again on her shoulders when she just wants to chill must be a bother.
She has no intentions of hiding her past. And also even if she tried, it would be impossible. She’ll in every way end up to be dealing that fact. So for her from now on it’ll be about how she lives upon such pressure. That’s how big her former group is and past figure was. It may seem stressful, but she also admits on [2:15] that her being such an idol in the past wasn’t solely her own influence. She is humble but very smart. She ain’t a little girl who wants to rest. She’s full of ambition if you pay close attention to what she said in the past and present. Even in this clip. I believe she’ll be fine and will strive.
She should expect it tbh All these years in the industry, no way she's doing all this for a "chill". If she wants to, she could just stream again one year after with PNGs, no debut stream, or better; use a niche platform like Twitcast. Yet it's a proper re-debut with similar Live2D, one cover song right after, then marshmallow reading next stream. It's all planned, she doesn't want to lose momentum.

I always knew she was smart, but she's even more well spoken than I thought she was. Also, if i can make one hope about her future it's that she doesn't start streaming on twitch, but that might not be an issue with how twitch seems to be imploding currently
Some JP vtubers are still switching to Twitch though, seemingly unaware on what's happening on that platform or how bad they are towards Vtubers. Or maybe the Japanese twitch side is just lenient. I wish they'd just stick to youtube tbh. For all the ad crap this site, it's still miles better than that glorified camsite.
This reminds me of that one episode from that one 3D animation series from that one vtuber agency. Y'know, the one centered around that one idol as she ruminated about what the definition of "idol" is. I wonder if Sakutan has seen it; I found it pretty insightful.
It is Aqua...'s Doppleganger that is. Unlike the Aqua that we know, she has freedom and room to develop herself and not locked into schedules and events that would seems to be stressing. Ever work a job and tired of being dictated with? Now Sakuna is her own boss and she has the breathe of fresh air once again not abiding by someone's rules. @@AceLive_ Hololive, despite being labeled as the standard by fans, is still not immune to these kind of things. Two of their talents sought more freedom and got out. Sure it's not as terrible as Nijisanji but that still says something a lot about how things are done in the background.
@@Eins3467 I know we're talking about vtubers here but in general, every company has it's own scandal behind that you usually only hear from employees who used to work from them. Favoritism, bad practices, overwork, etc. Being your own boss can be tough as you have to do your own plans than being dictated to you. You really have to put really good effort on your work to stand out and for the most part, they get respected. It's unrealistic but back to vtubers, I believe they got enough following to support them being their own business. Good for them. I'll probably do the same if given a chance. I'll use the company's label and reputation as a conduit to make my own business separated with them without burning bridges. Aqua and Ame did something smarter. Because their character is pretty much dead when they live agency but indie, until they discard the model or they went inactive, their character is their own persona and they can get vacations whenever they want.

She just want to take things on her own pace. People really should stop parroting the "they quit because they don't want to be idol anymore" especially on Aqua's case. No one forced her to do 3 sololives and all the idol activities she did more than other members. Yet she did, that mean she was the one who chose the idol life. @@gonoki888 She still wants to be an Idol but on her own terms. She still quit striving to what an "Idol" should be according to a company though so technically she didn't want that kind of life anymore.

Claiming your oshi abandoned you is a rather selfish view of things. Unless they really do ran away without saying goodbye or giving prior notice. To begin with your oshi is someone you chose, they dont pick you as their fan. Its the parasocial thing between viewer and creator, tho usually one-sided.

I've never really watched her outside of some apex clips but I was really impressed by the way she answered these questions. Did she always sound so thoughtful and outgoing?
idk about outgoing but she’s known for being incredibly shy and introverted 😅 there’s hundreds of clips of her interactions with millions of views, like how she goes around wearing caps because she can’t look at people’s eyes, how she can’t order for herself or have to be assisted by her mom to doctor appointments just to name some. But yeah, I’ve followed her for about 3+ years now and imo, she can be articulate and oozes seniority/experience when she has to. Girl def has seen some sh!t being a streamer for like a decade now 😅
She has always been thoughtful and wise in her own way. There are some clips you can find that how she was very helpful with other members/vtubers when they just started or when they were having problems. I remember Kanata talking about that, Aqua helped her when she just started and was feeling anxious. Norio-sensei / Tamaki also consulted to Aqua about numbers and stuff like that. And there are more.
Hmm, that last question, I think Saku-tan understood that they were most likely talking about Minato Aqua... Ngl, calling anything but "that" certain nickname is gonna take time for me to get used to.
Honestly that's a lot of people's first speculation. Whether a voice actress, stage idol, or vtuber. And there is precedent in the Idol stage singer scene.

So what Sakuna answered was well generalized depending on what people's mindset where at.
@@LeRouxMashinroudon't forget the daily stream streak. I think she streamed 100 days++ non-stop(?)
Kson once tweet this a few days after Aqua graduate, "They don't go anywhere, if anything you are the one who left them" and guess what, she is absolutely right at the end.
marine is right, its not that she is gone, she just leave her home as an Adult young women... look at her now 🥲
That is actually very accurate. She sounds less shy and more confident talking. I think she even sounds more joyful
I wouldn't want my Oshi sacrificing her happiness for my own. For me, it's as simple as that.
i can see why that she left due to Perms Issue where it might take months to play that game on stream only to get shut down for whatever reasons from higher ups. if thats what she wants to play Any game on stream even if she had to sacrifice her Idol Career just for that, then i dont mind it. it felt like a ballsy move for her to Sacrifice Big things just to get Small things for her.
Being indie is still way different compared to being a corpo vtuber so this is definitely true.

This is why I hate it when people say "well, if you read between the lines..."
Yeah, sometimes, but most of the time - and I know this is crazy - the message people want to communicate to you is THE MESSAGE THAT THEY TELL YOU
@@comicmoniker Why did she leave?
@@Rhenryie If you believe the statement, and I see no reason not to, she felt that what she wanted out of streaming was better suited to the indie vtuber format.
@@RhenryieHololive was getting too busy and there was so much going on all the time. She just wants to have fun streams while doing idol stuff. Remember that when they're not streaming, in hololive, they're doing constant offline work
Honestly fair, if you look back when she joined Hololive, it was quite small compared to now
This is the Sakuna we know and love.
Day 1 - Nervous, shy, conversationally challenged. Today - Insightful, well spoken, more open than before.
she is just build different lol
She has always been socially anxious but I did notice that she’s very mature, articulate with her words and is good at speaking when she has to be serious or have to lead. It peeks out sometimes and I sorta have whiplash whenever that happens lmao
some other excerpt is when Gura said everyone (including staff) goes dead silent when Aqua speaks and everyone pays attention. Subaru also said that it’s Aqua who leads 2nd gen and has huge respects for her.
I remember first seeing a clip from her past form in a talking stream and it hit me how thoughtful she came off as. Sakutan seems to be a deep thinker.
Was it about finding herself weakening as she finds more friends?
I love her voice so much, I didn't know how much I loved her until she was gone. :'3
Sakuna : There's too many people watching me, I wanted to debut with less pressure !
Senchou : Kuso inkya !
Thanks for translating some of the question my nihonggo is not jouzo yesterday 😢
Wise words coming from this cat maid 😺
All the questions and answers are really insightful. Glad to hear her perspective of these trending topics. I truly wish her the best.
She handled those questions extremely well. It is refreshing to see her answering those kind of questions, they are quite personal, they would probably not be allowed in Holo standards.
Wise words for people with abandonment issue and she didn't abandon us she just changed her outfit LoL.
pretty much. just because vtuber graduates doesnt mean they abandoned them. just went to a different directions, thats all.
@@Otoshi_Gami people saying that (the idea that a person graduated is leaving their fans behind) is so stupid because we have victoria who is about to leave niji and she thought she didnt do a great job as a corpo vtuber and saying shes selfish for leaving her fans or smth when she just wants to be able to do things she likes in a different chapter in her life
like how people say "oh i miss coco i miss watson" and then not watch their alt channels its so pathetic
@@arlynnecumberbatch1056 exactly. its just goes to show how much little they care about their alt and just cared about the corpo Avatar or corpo itself. otherwise 2 Million Aqua fans would've gone to Sakuna channel already but they didnt as the majority are still loyal to hololive. thats the reality that we're in
The same way I only liked rushia as rushia and I don't follow her alt. There's just a thing about personas and which one you prefer.
I prefer knowing that type of person or the type of person I thought they were rather than knowing the full person.
So you can't really fault them if they don't migrate to the alt. It's just not the same anymore
Look, you guys very much have a point that some people are more loyal to the brand than the vtuber themselves but not everyone who is unable to move on to the reincarnation is a case of that.
The "it is not the same" thing has a truth to it. Even if solo streams are pretty much the same the fans are still by and large losing the interactions and the larger interconnected community that is a big part of the draw for the agency vtubers.
Sakutan... We know you're married to a certain Kirito and Asuna, that's why you get that name xD
Love Sakutan's answer for these questions. She has a become wise maid after the experiences she went through 😭😭
I love her even more after watching this
"Can I take a lick?" even in a different form, the influence of her (former) pirate mom is still strong...
She answer most of them quite nicely i say most of them because we still have unanswered questions, Which Ear is the Real one Sakuna-san this will bug me every time you stream.

@@darknetsystem Someone did ask her this on the full stream! She only showed this question to the viewers, went silent and moved on to the next one LMAO
what i get from this seems like she just want to live a slow life, you can tell that being in holo was quite a challenge with how busy it was and how high the expectation, because it's all about "what next". so i feel like this will be a slow life journey.
4:12 sounds like overpowered Isekai mc anime who just wanna have a normal and peaceful live
Oh wow she actually answered that really well
She really is a anime mc lol
I honestly didn't expect to see her again tbh, and still a maid too
Damn she has grown much wiser and composed than the clumsy maid that debuted 6 years ago
she is still an idol at heart
I didn't expect to get a valuable life lesson from an anime girl.
She should expect it tbh
All these years in the industry, no way she's doing all this for a "chill".
@@kanzaki2672 pretty much. she gotta strike while the Iron is HOT. that shows how much ambitions that shes going in and no way its gonna be just CHILL STREAM with that amount of 800K subscribers in an instant. people has VERY HIGH EXPECTATIONS of her and she should know this by now after 6 years of experience in hololive.

Saku-tan is a cute neko maid for us to protect once again
The way I see that marshmallow is the same feeling when you rooting for someone else success but the one they rooting for decided to left and hit reset button. I mean sure Aqua peacefully Graduated without issues. How do I say this... When Idols(not Vtubers) member decided to retire theirs next career are mostly not become Idols group member again and strife for better future wether for wealth, fame, or theirs own self satisfaction while when Vtubers graduated theirs next career is mostly still Becoming Vtubers/Streamers but with different persona, it's not bad thing itself tho since maybe they doing that so they can do better and still count as self satisfaction.
In game analogy is like one decided to stop playing Skyrim and change to Fallout 4 while the other one decided to load another save file or just make a New Save File after slaying Alduin and finish all the main quest just to find new things from the game that they haven't found.
She grew up so fast.
she's so good at answering these question and this is just her second stream what
they look at marshmallows mostly beforehand and prepare answers. they in fact sort even questions out before they dont want in

What is this weeling up warmth in my eyes? Why do i feel like a dad when his daugther has grown up?
Somewhere within me thinking that i would be sleeping better tonight after listening to her answer for last question.
hope this cat can meet a certain rabbit in the future
I always knew she was smart, but she's even more well spoken than I thought she was. Also, if i can make one hope about her future it's that she doesn't start streaming on twitch, but that might not be an issue with how twitch seems to be imploding currently
Some JP vtubers are still switching to Twitch though, seemingly unaware on what's happening on that platform or how bad they are towards Vtubers. Or maybe the Japanese twitch side is just lenient. I wish they'd just stick to youtube tbh. For all the ad crap this site, it's still miles better than that glorified camsite.
@@Eins3467 Why the push for going over to Twitch anyway?
This reminds me of that one episode from that one 3D animation series from that one vtuber agency. Y'know, the one centered around that one idol as she ruminated about what the definition of "idol" is. I wonder if Sakutan has seen it; I found it pretty insightful.
That episode has been stuck in my head and always comes to mind whenever they say they're idols.
This is just Aqua. Girl didn't even bother to change anything in her color scheme or speech pattern. XD
Agency look great on presentation but behind the scenes can be a little harsh. We've seen it on Nijisanji. Imagine other agencies. I mean every company in the world has that sort of treatment with their employees. It's great that she's indie.
The English translation channels' comments are so much kinder... I'm sorry but its true.
I hope the toxic fans can just leave and the majority fans can stay calm.
She's a tough onion, she'll push through.
A lot of us just hope for our favorites to be happy and thriving, however that is accomplished. We do get pretty angry if they aren't, for reasons that shouldn't happen esp., but that's for a different comment section.

So.. not because she doesn't want to be an idol. She wants to start from the scratch with all hard works pointing towards herself all the way to the top all by herself. She wanted her own official Sololive. She seek the grind. Is what I gathered from this. I could be wrong.
She just want to take things on her own pace. People really should stop parroting the "they quit because they don't want to be idol anymore" especially on Aqua's case. No one forced her to do 3 sololives and all the idol activities she did more than other members. Yet she did, that mean she was the one who chose the idol life. It's just stuff becoming a bit too much for her. Now she just wants to take things slowly on her own pace, but she still wants to be idol
@@gonoki888 She still wants to be an Idol but on her own terms. She still quit striving to what an "Idol" should be according to a company though so technically she didn't want that kind of life anymore.

The answer to the final question was great, she never abandoned you but there are things in life is out of our control and she couldn't do much about it, just enjoy your oshi as much as she's available. Nothing is forever. Enjoy the present.
I never really thought about it until she mentioned a peaceful life. It's true that once you are at such a size, people will find you an follow you no matter where you go, so you'd really have to quit entirely if you don't want that kind of pressure anymore

I love seeing Sakutan, it's great that this gamer maid has arrived but it pains me to see certain other vtubers thinking they won't be able to interact with each other
I've never really watched her outside of some apex clips but I was really impressed by the way she answered these questions.

Honestly that's a lot of people's first speculation. Whether a voice actress, stage idol, or vtuber. And there is precedent in the Idol stage singer scene.
A lot of pieces were falling into place and timing was adding up. It's hard to not put two and two together in such situation, the theory made perfect sense. But if she says things are this way, I will believe her.
