I love old videos like this. It reminds me how different i see things, how stupid and shallow I was. For example, I never took notice how beautiful Mel B was just because she was black and that she was called scary spice. Looking at this now makes me realize how I missed a lot of good things in my youth because i was so narrow minded. And one more thing, Mel B you are so beautiful.

I don't know if this is a good or bad thing, but I grew up in a very multicultural city (and society) and as a child, I don't actually remember thinking of Mel B of being anything other than British, and one of the Spice Girls. My child brain didn't really register the fact that she was black, or that it was something I should care about. I do remember thinking they were all beautiful, and I loved the "girl power!" message.

When they started I was 8 and I thought Mel B is the mist beautiful I actually didnt know she is part black I thought she is just tan...and now I see I always had good taste haha

She called them spice not Spice Girls she had no idea how massive the girls would become- the highest selling girl band of all time- Spice Girls 680million records sold in 2nd Destiny’s Child 490million records- Edit in 2023 they are currently the 3rd highest selling girl band in the world in 2.5 months they’ve been downloaded 1.2 million times!!

The Girls recorded this song in about Sept 1995... 2 months after their Virgin Records signing...it took them about 6 months to record their first LP

That was their name at the time. The "Girls" was added, as people kept referring to them as the Spice girls.

There's another version of this exact same video, that's been on TH-cam for quite a while now it's just much shorter and it says it's from May 1996, that's when this episode was aired originally. But when you look closely around 02:15 there's the date 13/04/1996 but it could also be 18/04/1996 I'm not sure but it's definetely April 1996.
