(like u said census and other departments).. they should provide real world examples ...we know theory, but we don't know how in actual In India where and how the knowledge of Demographics and other knowledge are acquired, applied and utilised.

No the formula is correct. Just apply unitary method. For P persons, Birth rate = Bi For 1 person, Birth rate = Bi/P For 1000 persons, Birth rate = (Bi/P)×1000 And CBR = Birth rate per 1000 persons = (Bi/P)×1000 Hope this clears your doubt :)
