  • ADELAIDE, FIRE IN THE STONE CITY PART 21 - HAHNDORF
Hahndorf is a small town in the north Wine regions of the Adelaide Hills, just 20 minutes from Adelaide’s CBD. It was settled in 1839 by German migrants and is the oldest surviving German settlement in Australia. It has German-style architecture and food. Today it has become a beacon for tourists from all over the world, with daily bus tour. It offers many German smallgoods outlets, bakeries, pubs, craft stores, restaurants (German beer, kranskies sauerkraut, etc), and cafes. It also has Vietnamese, Indian, and Italian restaurants.
I love going to Hahndorf regularly, to enjoy a meal, look through the craft outlets, and to clock up my daily 10,000 steps. The vineyard landscapers, its outdoor settings, and the whole atmosphere is serene.
