  • My Wife and I wanted to to upgrade our nightstands to match our room a little better. Since we built the barn door for our room, we decided to match it off of that. Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

    Just goes to show you that's it not all about exotic woods and countless expensive tools... nice work.

    The chamfers on the bottoms of the legs are super. Nice look, and practical. Same with the trim over the pocket screws. Well thought out, that.

    Pretty sweet, nice work.
    But I have a dumb question about the planer. Why not just cut them down to that size to start with?
    Instead of making them 2x2 to start with but then taking them down further with the planer. I don’t have one so curious how smooth it makes them, since you were sanding it down more later.

    • @coreysworkshop6421
      @coreysworkshop6421  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It was my first time using the planer, so I may have over did it on the 2x2’s and just made it work. As for planing the top it would be as smooth as using 100 maybe 120 grit sand paper.
      I like sand up to 220 if I am going to stain something.

    I've been woodworking for a couple of years now and have a drawer phobia. I want to build projects with drawers but for some reason I just won't do it. So I modify those projects to include a shelf instead. How did you get into woodworking. Love these nightstands.

    • @coreysworkshop6421
      @coreysworkshop6421  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I got into woodworking by saying it would be cheaper to build something myself.
      Then I started learning though youtube. Practicing and learning more along the way

      It took a lot of planning, but its wasn't too bad. I'll put together a video that will have more information.
