The GT series has always been amazing with one HUGE caveat stopping any Porsche buyer from buying into Benz territory: The insane 40% depreciation rate on Mercedes Benz vs 15% on Porsches. That’s huge when you’re buying a 180,000+ car
Unless Porsche has always been so boring to look at or to feel. It might've been superior in performance or values, but in my opinion, they really lack uniqueness between their generations

911 is a legendary high performance sports car. It has it's well established place in industry. 2024 Mercedes AMG GT looks similar to 911 though, it seems like Mercedes took some design inspiration from 911.
First gen is 2014 and the front and rear look less agressive than the AMG GT63. This model is definitely more agressive. The previous gen looks cute against this one.
@@1980venom first gen consist of the 2014-2022 models . When AMG got it’s facelift in 2017 ; those models and beyond looked far more aggressive in the front than this one . In my opinion.

I have the feeling this is the direct competitor to the 911 Turbo/s(AWD, 2+2 Seater). I expect them to come out with smaller engines and also with a rear wheel version and/or light version as well. I really think they want to follow Porsche with this model. This is the version for the luxury / Gran Turismo customers, not for the sporty and Race customers. The competitor for the 911 GT3 etc. will still come. I Bet! Thumbs up if you agree
Love it. Love the AWD feature.. your going to get more grip, control, and power to wheels. Couldn't do the must beautiful white interior though. It's too pretty and would get messed up, with someone like myself who'd wanna be in the car all the time!
Even know this car is Absolutely beautiful. In no way will it beat a Porsche 911 turbo s. But given the choice between the two. I think I may take the Benz.
I think this is better looking than either of the previous two versions, but would prefer if it had been kept a two seater. I don't like the interior styling; the huge chrome A/C vents and the steering wheel hub and spokes are pretty unattractive. I like the AWD. Based on my first look at the car I had thought that I might switch to this after owning multiple 911s and Caymans, but after seeing this, probably not.

I've been waiting for someone to make this car for years. I have a S63 AMG. My previous car was a M6. GTs are in my blood. I need the sportiness, but can't *not* have a backseat. The SL was always a bit too soft and I don't want to drive a convertible -- I prefer the rigidity and roofline of a coupe. For a while, I thought Porsche was going to bring back the 928, but that never happened. I like the new Merc CLE, but it's still not a big GT. There was a demand (market segment) gap. This new AMG GT is the first time I really feel seen and heard. This Merc is the spiritual successor of the 928. I will def get one. Then I can finally rest.

I love the old GT for its slick design. This version inherited part of it, but the back is a mess. I hate it when they over design things for no reason. The old design was pure perfection, while this looks clumsy and cheap.
Design is okay. But Mercedes is know about their technical issues. And they never help us when we send our units to dealers to solve our problems. Never buy 1 anymore. I'll rather have BMW.
Marc needs to stop the "911 Killer." Nothing is killing a 911 plus this car deserves its own following. It's a beautiful car that so much more emotional than the 911; however, the 911 is surgical and there is nothing else like it.
I put money down on the new AMG GT 63 and will be selling my modded RS6. While the new GT is heavy, it's still lighter than the RS6 and with the fold down rear seats, it's close in hauling capacity of gear with AWD. It won't haul 4 people the same, but everything else should be perfect provided the price isn't stratospheric.
I'm somewhat disappointed. Simply because this car offers less of an overall fun-factor than the previous model, or the current SL63, as this car won't be offered with a convertible top. I think the previous model looks "almost" as good as this car, and so does the new SL63, especially because the SL is a convertible. I do like the more prominent Aston Martin style grill. Still, this car doesn't knock my socks off when compared to the SL, or it's competition. I live in sunny California so, for me, a convertible coupe is mandatory. If I were in the market for a fancy, high performance, coupe in this segment, I'd be looking at beautiful, high performance convertible coupes like: Lexus LC500, BMW M8, Corvette Z06 or the Porsche 911, for starters. The cabriolets are extra fun, and extra special!!!
Bro this car is farrrrr more beautiful and sportier looking than the SL. This is only the initial release. You have to wait for the other engine options and the convertible to drop like they always do. There is no way on earth or any other galaxy where the older version looks better than this work of art.
The all new M Benz AMG GT V8 made to kill the tried and true Porsche 911 V6 murderer of V10, V8 super cars displaying hundreds more hp than itself. Good luck with that!

The older model’s rear end is ugly. This one’s Azz is perfect. Plus, it’s taller, wider, and longer, but to each their own
