Thank you for this video, it was very helpful! I have been on the fence (haha) about getting a Halo due to reading many mixed reviews on the earlier versions, but I need something more than the Invisible fence we have had for 25+ years and been very happy with. We have a very energetic 18 mth old Redbone Coonhound, which we have had since he was 5 weeks old, he started out as a foster, but he quickly became part of the family. I have never had a smarter and sweeter dog, but he is a handful. He is crazy energetic, independent, feisty, a rule challenger and, of course, still a puppy. Thank you for the video and detail on the settings and improvements. I think this will be a great choice for Tucker and love that we can use it for walks, hiking, traveling, etc. I can’t wait to get it. Thank you!

I am so happy you found it helpful I think there is a link down below in my description and if you use it you will get another 25 off.

I had a Tucker too, and he was notoriously a handful. When he was up to his shenanigans, he would earn the name change of his first letter to "f". 😂 I miss that dog so much.

How are you getting 35 hours of charge?

At home, my dogs tend to have less activity, and we have strong cell service and WiFi, which likely helps maximize battery life. However, I’m betting that when we’re at camp this summer, the battery life will be shorter. The increased activity, constant movement, and lack of WiFi will likely put more strain on the motion sensor and battery.

I actually bought my first Halo collar back in 2021, way before I had any affiliate relationship with them. At the time, there wasn’t much info out there, so I started sharing my own experiences to help other pet owners decide if it might work for them. Over time, Halo noticed and appreciated the real-world feedback I was giving as a customer, and eventually, we formed an affiliate partnership. I’m transparent about my experiences and provide insights based on years of personal use. And while they sometimes send me products now, my goal has always been to give honest advice so people can choose the best option for their dog, their space, and their needs. th-cam.com/video/49HpHDkffEs/w-d-xo.html

Halo 2 and 2.5 usb c charging port was even worse. My 2 collars barely charge because when the fight they grab on the collars sometimes. Teeth ruin it! Was going to upgrade to the 4 soon thanks for the review!

Only other issue I had is my 200lb English mastiff could care less about the shock even at max level. Hopping new one works a little better for him.

You said you have been using the Halo 4 on your dog since he was 4 months old. I thought it was recomended to wait till they were 5 months old. My dog is a smaller (25 pounds at this timew) but very high energy dog and is only 4 months and 1 week old. I am waiting very patiently for that 5th month. Am I right or is it okay to use it on her now? BTW my dog is a Mountain Feist mix, a southern breed treeing dog.

I believe he was about 4 months old when we started having him wear it, without any corrections or boundaries, as part of the training to get him comfortable with wearing it and accustomed to the routine.

In your opinion how bulky would this be in a 20# dog?

+@jsiemens79 I think it would be ok … wondering what breed. For example a Frenchie is small but has a thick neck … I wonder how dainty your pup is.

Do you think the halo collar is good for puppies???

    • @KarmaDogSpeak

I would not use it with a puppy till at least 4-6 months old those are very important developmental times for a dog.
