What I love about your sessions is that we are not just enjoying watching the sewing, we are learning, learning, learning. Thank you so much.
My problem with works in progress and lists of creative ideas is that there simply aren’t enough hours in the day. I demand more hours in a day!!! I have worked full time for years and years … and moving into Act 3 of life my brain is simply exploding with ideas I daren’t even let myself have previously. I’m grateful to all those, including yourself, who encourage creativity. At least I’m never bored 😘❤️🙏
I always learn so much from your videos. I also feel I’m going to have to live to 200 years old to do all my projects I think of during and after your videos. I’m 46 so yes, it’s a lot of projects!!!

I’m in my seventies so you can imagine how I feel 😂
Need to write a children's book about Stella and the Fly and their adventures.😊
😁 I might have to rewrite the ending for the fly though 😂♥️
How funny! I was thinking exactly the same.
I thought that too. LOL
Great minds and all that! 😂😂😂😂
Lovely that i unexpectedly had this video to catch up with you!! I never feel pressured or obliged, just very eager to do all your wonderful projects! I think I love Stella and her fly - chasing nails on the floor💖🍀🥰
Kathryn what a wonderful little block, love to see your hands handling the cloth and your little stitches securing the shapes. X
Thank you 😊
Oh you gave me a start, talking about exhibition being over, when I am planning to go tomorrow 😮 so glad to hear you self-correct. Phew! Love this design. Put’s me in mind of Yin & Yang, another design about balance.
Sorry Alison, getting my timelines all wrong. 😁 I will see you tomorrow. ❤️
At school I was always the one cramming to get my projects done. I have found I am the same with the projects we are doing. No reason, just my style. LOL I love everything we are doing but I guess if I a going to pull stuff out for one project I might just as well wait and pull out for more. I always met my deadline, even if I had to color the last of a project in class as the teacher taught. I did pretty good in school. LOL I want you to know the little sounds of your pups running and playing or trying to kill a little fly. LOL do not bother me. My pets are what is keeping me moving. They are the only reason to get out of bed. Looking so forward to the many projects in your head. Thank you for all you do for us.
Thank you for being here 😊😊
Thanks K3n for this beautiful variation of the log cabin. ❤
The animals really are part of the story on your videos. That fly gave me the giggles 😂. Thank you for the clear instructions for this beautiful block. I loved seeing it grow.
Thank you ♥️
I am still way behind with my Monday project, but in time, I will come by, tried to stitch a little every day❤❤😂😂😂
I was just so happy that the fly I heard was at your house and not at mine 😍. And everyone needs a fly chasing dog 😃. Thank you again so much for all the great projects you are teaching. I do plan to come back and do some of these, but putting some sewing for my daughter-in-law into a higher priority for the moment🥰
And luckily she's smart enough to leave bees and wasps alone. 😁❤️

A Wonky Greek Log Cabin in France !!! 🤣❣❣❣
😂❤️
I had a lovely instructor from scotland (drawings painting and art history) She told us that at one point they thought that the greeks had been to Ireland, because they had found "greek keys " on ancient Irish stones...but it was decided that both places could have come up with the design independent of each other.. i know i have doodled this myself before knowing about Greek keys . Polynesian too.
Yes I have heard of that before, not specifically about this shape but about the same symbols showing up in cave paintings around the world with people who couldn't possibly have interacted. I think I watched a TED talk about it. ♥️
This is my favorite log cabin so far. 💖 Each future possibility in your brain dump had me saying “Oh, yes. That one”. Thank you, Kathryn 💖💖💖
The celts and ancient Greeks came from the same place
Loving this greek key design and hoping for more exploration with ancient patterns. The mandelbrot has always fascinated me, for both its intricate and simplified shapes. It would hurt my brain to work out how to interpret it with cloth. So much to do, so little time. You are the best, K3N!
Thank you Ann, I know that feeling 😊
Love this beautiful block. I envision a lap sized quilt with this block,!
I love that block ! I'm thinking maybe a wall hanging in it. Thank you as always Kathryn :) x
You’re welcome 😊
Ohh K3n, you did it again, I really love this idea, all these ideas are rushing to me.
Table Runners, plates placements in a rectangle version, and the biggest thought is: I’m going to need to leave for at list another Century 😂
❤️❤️❤️
"That will do FLY".
😂 pigs might fly 😁
I really enjoyed this one k3n - I am quite new to your channel and decided early on i wouldn't try to "catch up" - wouldn't want to miss a video though! They are so enjoyable and informative and relaxing - even my 18 month old pooch settles down with your voice! Big love from Scotland ❤ and it's good you aren't travelling today with strikes affecting airlines and rail services ( airlines sorted out now - it was May bank holiday that could have been affected). Safe travels and enjoy 😊
Thank you Margaret, I just checked the app for my airline and it seems to be unaffected. ♥️
That's very pretty.
Robert Browning said it best:
And whoever wakes in England
Sees, some morning, unaware,
That the lowest boughs and the brushwood sheaf
Round the elm-tree bole are in tiny leaf,
While the chaffinch sings on the orchard bough
In England-now!
And after April, when May follows,
And the whitethroat builds, and all the swallows!
Beautiful Judith, thank you ❤️
Brilliant, thank you😀
Very good.😊
Don’t forget to buy your scissors…maybe buy two just to have one in abeyance? ❤😂
I might well do that 😁❤️
I’m loving all the different ways that are related to the log cabin block. I’m thinking about a quilt with all the different blocks. Thank you for sharing.
That would be lovely ❤️
I really love this weeks page. I lived in Greece for a while and developed a love for this design.
Kia ora Kathryn, i really enjoyed stitching along with you on this project although my favourite is the courthouse stairs. Thank you again ❤
Another wonderful 'log cabin.' By the way, I love hearing Stella in the background!
I forgot to say, the fly just sounds like a usual summer’s day in Australia so it didn’t annoy me. Lots of practice automatically tuning out the sound.
Thanks for the Greek Key block! I have always loved that design. I must have been Greek in another life. I wouldn't have chosen those colors you did, but they look great. I wonder how a quilt of those would look. enormously busy? Have you ever done one with said block? DO tell K3N!! 💓
Hello, no I have never made a whole quilt, only a border years ago and I think the quilt ended up as a dog bed 😂 I think a whole quilt would look great though. ❤️
Oh my goodness. I didn’t even realize it was Wednesday and that there was a Wonky Wednesday project to do. I better get at it. lol
The fly just wants to watch too!
Really enjoying your channel Kathryn, just figured how to subscribe. Love you style of stitching. 💕😊
Thank you and welcome 🤗
Lovely piece and so restful to watch. Stella and the fly were hilarious. I wondered why Fred Fred didn't get involved and remembered how a mouse ran past his feet... 😂 Mary x
He's far too lazy to chase a fly 😂❤️
Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas. As always enjoyed the conversation along the way.
Love ancient symbols - lovely little play piece. Cheers, Christine
Thank you Christine ♥️
Eu adoro esse seu trabalho, perfeito !🇧🇷🇧🇷 Guiomar Rowan Peixoto Brasil
I ❤love this pattern, I will definitely make this one. Enjoy your time in England, Kathryn. ❤
Thank you Lucille ❤️
I love the distinct look. Thank you ❤
Love this one. I have never mastered knitting on circular needles so I’m hoping the socks are on 2 ! I also can’t wait to watch your journal making, and your scrappy knitting sounds right up my street. Oh please can we have more than 24 hours in the day ! 😂😂❤❤❤
If only! 😂 I use one needle for socks but you can use two. 😉❤️
Oh my goodness, I’m in love. ❤
Hello from Beautiful British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦
Nice square
(Auto fill suggested squirrel)😊😅😢🎉❤😂
Thank you, autofill is funny sometimes 😂♥️
Stella and the fly. A children’s book title? 😉 xo
😁❤️
Hi Kathryn! Safe flight ✈️ to 🏴 England. Perhaps this time you’ll be able to pick a good pair of scissors (as you planned last time😉) and some glue sticks too.
Wishing you safe travels and fun time with friends.
Love all your projects especially Wonky Wednesday ones. Patiently waiting for the sock knitting as it will be my 1st attempt in that realm🥰.
Hi Stella, hope you got the flies!
😊Love the activity in your room Kathryn.
🌸tess
Thank you Tess, I am going to a quilt show as well so hopefully I can get scissors there. 😁❤️
Thank you 😊
Gracias ❤
Reminiscent of ‘the Prisoner’…… I am not a number’…quite speedy for slow stitch …happily!
Yes to both 😁♥️
I love Greek Keys. I am not finished watching, but I was wondering why one always start log cabin(ish) pieces in the middle. (remember I am not a quilter 🙃) could one start the same design on the outer strips? I think I will do my block in blacks and deep oranges as a nod to Greek jars we see so much in Art History. Thank you for another fun block. ( I am stitching on my kintsugi piece while watching)🌷🌷🌷
You could start at the outside edge, now I am thinking of a kawandi style log cabin 🤔😁❤️
@k3n.clothtales Thank you. I can't wait to see what is coming in the next weeks. I am so enjoying following along. Back to my kintsugi. I am in the process of doing the gold around the circles. That may take me a while!🌷
Hi Kathryn, I really like this one. I really like all of them 😆
Edit..what is surface stitching?
Also, the dark fabric you’re using in this, is it eco dyed? Ta 🦋
Thank you 😁 surface stitching=the decorative stitching added on the top as opposed to the stitching which holds it together. Yes the cloth is ecoprinted. ♥️

Thank you it's lovely to have you here. These are just little experiments for my journal but they can be used in any kind of project, as a quilt block for example, or bags, cushions etc. ❤️
Спасибо
I’ll definitely have a go! I love it! I had a bracelet with that pattern and now it’s time for a pouch… who knows? I love these wonky Wednesdays (but I love Mondays too 😉).
I feared for your life, Kathryn, that fly sounded angry! I could distinctly hear it and it had a killer sound … 😂! I hope Stella was able to finally kill it mercilessly 😂 (you won’t believe this, but at this precise moment a fly entered my living room 😲… is it possible that it came through the screen from your house to mine…? 😱… 😂)
❤️🤎💙🩵💚🧡🤍💛💜🩷
Stella is a fly dispatching machine, but I never found the body and she doesn't eat them so perhaps it did escape to Portugal 😂😂😂❤️

Gotta say i am averse to violent movies but I did watch Breaking Bad. This reminds me of one episode called The Fly. It was quite funny.
That is a really arty piece. Hi from Australia. It is nice that you put this on in the evening for us here.😊🪡
Wow, I agree with you completely about not normally liking violent films but I do love Breaking Bad because the characters, the story etc make it so much more. In fact, we rewatch the whole series about once a year. 😁 And of course I remember the episode where Walt becomes obsessed with catching the fly. ❤️
Hi from Australia.
