      By surprise, George means novelty.
      Nothing novel or interesting happens unless it is on the border between order and chaos.

    George Gilder is one of the most visionary and influential thinkers of my lifetime regarding economics and technology and its affect on society. George Gilder and George Soros (reflexivity / and testing economic hypothesis in the laboratory of the markets vs. ivory towers and academia). In many ways understanding disruptive technological trends and reflexivity/inflection points ... and understanding Ray Kurzweil/Masayoshi Son Singularity concepts are very important for people of the 21st century. I started reading and studying their works back in the 1990s, while skipping classes and not reading any required reasons... Looking back studying Warren Buffet/Charlie Munger Berkshire Hathaway and Security Analysis (Graham/Dodd) -- and studying disruptive technologies -- and learning how to invest in value, growth, growth at a value, and taking big risks on the big potential payoffs funded by stable cashflows from good durable businesses was the most important education in my youth. I think i ignored or skipped about 80% of my formal education -- and was able to b.s. my way through the system -- because i understood the concepts that I was studying outside of school.

    Great interview. It's rather parallel to the ideas proposed by Jordan Peterson, but reflected in a more business related discussion. Seems the truth just reveals itself everywhere. thanks for an enlightening conversation.

    Interesting, and so few views after 6 months. Fascinating knowledge. One of the dirty secrets of windmills, also coming up is the recycling of, and the toxicity of germanium, in solar PV panels in 15 years.

    This video was uploaded 6 months ago, and what few comments there are are from a few hours or days ago (oldest being 2 months ago). That's odd. Did Google's random engine decide to pick it up?

      I saw a video on TH-cam by Hoover Institute from late September 2018, which guess was suggested by TH-cam. I am not subscribed to the channel. I then Googled him in search and read Wikipedia. After having watched that video, then TH-cam suggested others. That's how I got to this one. TH-cam now suggesting even more videos of his off to side, plus some on block chain and supply side economics.

      Also he has come out with a new book called "Life after Google: The Fall of Big Data and the Rise of the Blockchain Economy", so maybe publisher paid something to push him on TH-cam a bit? Publish date Gateway Editions (July 17, 2018)

    im not the smartest guy in the room ,, although i cant agree with his views on wind/ solar tech, i do agree with less regulation may foster greater growth. but then big corps would create food and chemicals that would kill those that cant afford quality food or healthcare..enjoyed the video 4 sure lot of great information

      Kdub 5150 Big corps already create all the food with chemicals and GMOs that kill people. Only eat organic. Also the water supply all over the country is full of carcinogenic chemicals. They try to keep us sick so the pharma industry can cure us. When Bayer pharma buys Monsanto (glyphosate in food and GMOs) it perfect. Monsanto gives us cancer and bayer has the chemo. A huge racket!

    Asbestos is fine and should not be banned and medical care should be totally profit driven which would mean your sickness now becomes a prime required input into the business model. Food should also be totally off the leash which in turn will make sickness easier to manufacture. Hmmm where can I buy shares

    • @TheDelcin

      People make choices. People maks decisions which is benifitting to them. If a government ought to regulate everything then when govt is corrupted like almost in all cases then people have no other choice. Without govt control there are many companies and it is easy for anyone to build an enterprise. This is the base of his argument

    While I agree blockchain is great for security isn't it also resource-heavy? that is, those who have the biggest server banks are the ones who can mine more coins more efficiently and will act much like the Fed does today. The same huge IT organizations of the world today will simply switch their biz plan to mining, thereby controlling currency markets?

    19:01 He's thinking of "mesothelioma", which is a form of aggressive cancer of lining of the lungs that is said to be linked to breathing asbestos dust.
    Guy definitely thinks out of the normal box, though can't agree with all his ideas. I'd like to hear more about his health regimen.

  • @eruston
    @eruston 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    This guy is missing huge chunks of the big picture. There seem to be things he doesn’t know he doesn’t know. Examples include his strange adoration for Israel. This ‘technology behemoth’ can’t even defeat its puny neighbor: Lebanon. Lebanon, a country about the size of a single metropolitan city in America handed them their asses in ‘06. It was a major embarrassment. They bragged about their amazing ‘merkava’ tanks. Hezbollah shot them to pieces. They have sparkling new f-16s declared as salvage intentionally by the American military so that we can basically give them to Israel. Lebanon doesn’t even HAVE an Air Force. All these advantages and their ‘ashkenazi’ amazing brilliance... and they can’t defeat Lebanon. WTF? It gets better: Israel has a navy with advanced state of the art cruisers. Hezbollah parked a truck on the side of the sea and launched a C-802 rocket at one of them... and crippled the ship! Hezbollah doesn’t even have a navy and they are still able to strike the ‘genius level intellectual’ jews in their fancy war ships. I guess it’s like a pig with lipstick on, advanced technology and weapons given to a bunch of oppressive racist people achieves nothing. Gelder lauds then to the heavens for making some ‘medical instruments’.... what, because they can make some sharp scalpels... they are geniuses? He also completely misses the giant pink elephant that is the fiat Ponzi scam of creating money from thin air and using fractional reserve banking to continuously destroy the value of all fiat currencies in the world. All currencies tied to the US dollar (established by Bretton woods) and now ultimately tied to NOTHING because of Nixon’s act of floating the dollar. At around that same time Kissinger established the petrodollar and the banksters have been running that incredibly lucrative SCAM on the world ever since. This is not mentioned at all by gelder. The Rothschild banking syndicate runs this world and they fund Israel. THAT is the reason why Israel persists. That is also why Israel starts so many wars and gets it’s punk thug bitch: America, to fight them for it.
