- Immigration Minister Marc Miller reacted to NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh's confrontation with hecklers in Ottawa on Tuesday, and joked about Singh's jiu-jitsu skills. He called out Pierre Poilievre's "footsie-playing" with "knuckleheads walking around the hill." He added, "I think guys like Pierre Poilievre need to repudiate this disgusting behaviour by people that support him."

Well, sadly the current government in charge and it's supporters are the root of the issue here. They created division and our country has slid downward. Talking about Singh and his belt in Jiu Jitsu does not help either.

That said, I would rather members of any government, especially at the federal level, choose descriptors that are more appropriate. I mean, there's a level of decorum in the house, with question periods being stalled due to non parliamentary language and terminology, so why not outside of it as well for elected officials?
Accountability is more important than name-calling.
Why can't we get explanations and solutions for the current problems at hand that affect all Canadians?
Why is it important to focus more on this interaction rather than his actual role and responsibilities?
To be clear, I think those individuals who were harassing Jagmeet were in the wrong. I am not supporting them whatsoever.

A minister of immigration has to have more important things to tend to, especially right now, with the various crises at the federal level.

Situation was completely escalated by Jagmeet. As a politician, you need to have thick skin as you will encounter people who disagree with you and your policies.
