AnalogByNature it's because he's mostly a sound designer, not a producer. But hey, at least he got 10 fucking students who got signed by labels
Promos are the way to go! I started with a few tracks on a small label and once the label started sending the tracks via promo cloud to DJs promo emails, I started gaining support. Once I started getting the supports, my forthcoming track got signed to a bigger label. You make some good points that I agree with. Another thing that helps is to mention the supports your previous tracks have received when submitting the demo to a label via email or demo submission form. When the label A&R sees a popular name they recognize, they are more likely to listen to your track (but don't lie because that is a good way to get the label to flag you as spam or junk and never listen to your stuff again).

ABHISHEK KOTHARI I'm looking for the same thing! If you look at the website they redirect you to the differents Twitter profiles. But I saw some DJ that are now signed on OWSLA or Mad Decent sending a tweet to Skrillex asking for his promo mail, and I guess he answered by private otherwise they won't be signed. So my advice would be to try by Twitter...

The record label will come to you. For legal reasons, labels cannot accept unsolicited material. Emails don’t work. Focus on the thing that matters most - the fans. Without that, nothing matters. Sell some tickets, make great music, and build your business. Fans are the most important thing.

Zen, What are you talking about when you say, send it into the label yourself but now you have "all this support"? what is support, I see kids who got a response like "nice" saying they're supported by whoever. Isn't support only radio show, and festival plays? is that what you would tell the label. Demo - X (Supported in So and So's Radio Show #100)
Supported as in they played it live and in the podcast and yes that helps. Some people say supported when the DJ just said good in a bot instagram post lol
Hey man so i've been gettin this problem recently.So i make a track and i think it's amazing i post it on soundcloud and it gets like 100-200 views and i get instantly demoralized...like how can i get more views or support from the public ?
Hey dude, I can maybe help you out on this one. that is completely normal to start. First off, if your entire goal is plays remixes of big songs probably get the most attention, you can send then into blogs and repost sites. Some of these will repost for free if they like the track and are nice. Others will ask for money (Whether it is worth buying reposts is a matter of opinion). You can also post on facebook groups that producers share music and other forums, just do a little research and you can find a lot of those. These can also potentially make you friends who produce similar music, if they like your stuff or you reach out to them and maybe in time those people will repost your music for you as well. You can also send to djs and if they support you in radio shows ect that will help with exposure, and make connections as zen said. All in all there is not one answer to this, other than to become one with the community, kindly ask for people to give your music a listen to within an acceptable environment, and know that its gonna take time, everyone starts from 0!

No problem dude. After a year if you can even make a full arrangement you're heading in the right direction! (I've heard that straight from Project 46) I've been producing for a while now, and still know i'm no where near my full potential. However, I would like to build relationships with dj's that are signed to those labels. For instance, I make Big Room house, progressive house, electro house, and sometimes hardstyle. Who are the djs I can target?

agreed - building relationships with well know DJs, Managers and Agents is >90% that makes the difference why one good producer / DJ makes it and the other one not
=> I may just add that emailing to persons might not be enough, go to the clubs, showcases and music fairs (Miami, Amsterdam....) make friends in the business (but do not be annoying), this is how most famous DJs and producers made it.
(I had been working as an Event & DJ Manager / Agent for 10 years in the 90ies, and believe me there were so many great DJs and Producers who had not made it, because they where no networkers, and many who made it never seemed especially talented to me, though they were good professionals).
