- My final exchange at the last pool match at Swordplay 2022.
Clean hit or a double in your eyes?

Double.
I normally call those "Clean doubles" meaning without doubt those two commenced to mutually unalive themselves. Sometimes there are messy doubles (1clean hit + 1 maybe hit) or unequal doubles (hit to head torso vs tippy hand hit).
From this angle it looked like a clean face thrust and a clean body thrust. Of course maybe that body thrust was a glancing blow, but that's for the judges on that side to clarify.
The body thrusts actually misses the body as I arch forwards, but does slide on the jacket. It was called a double, although it had no quality. It was however a last exchange in a match I was already winning so I did not challenged it
They are the swordsman painting in Resident Evil 1 remake.
In the moment I'd call it a double. In review I'd say its a clean thrust to the head. The lower thrust to the body is mostly voided, looks to have only caught some clothing.
My solution? Reset and try again! lol
Fair enough! It was called a double on the spot. I knew I wasn’t hit as there is no protection there and I would have felt it but it only grazed the jacket.
After I watched the video it was confirmed as I can see how deep the other weapon goes with no resistance.
It was the last exchange of a match I was winning regardless anyway.
@@AngelChernaevHistoricalFencing definitely tough to call these in the moment so I don’t blame anyone, just a frustrating side effect of our sport. I haven’t competed rapier but from watching matches it’s definitely not one of the easier weapons to judge!
It looks like a double hit to me
