Fantastic quality film mate, and what a belter of a barbel. I've caught quite a few doubles up to 16lbs in my time, but your fish looked as big as anything I've had. Beautiful specimen mate and in tough conditions. Well done mate!
Cheers mate

Great video feller, thanks for the post. I was out on the Derwent in Matlock up the road, full of trout. Took a really nice brown, another guy I went down with took a couple of nice rainbows. I was happy to sit tight, light a pipe and get the line wet.
Sounds lovely mate, I must have a go on the Derwent soon
Grew up fishing the Derwent in Matlock was out there every day possible. Some lovely trout and grayling on the Park stretches

Just found your channel and boy, it's so well produced, well done! Wish you'd weigh your fish though....as the missus says, it's all about the size! 😉 Subbed.
Thankyou
Oh that was easily a double! 😊
I've not got a huge wealth of Barbel experience but i have seen enough to know that was not a scraper double either ...she was stunning and 12 or 13lb easy
Great video/videos mate, ive been really enjoying watching all the trent ones, im new to barbel fishing and I've just bought the Newark and District permit and been fishing the Winthorpe stretch, i noticed you never have your rods high. Does this work ok?
Thanks for watching Luke, if the rivers high then the Rods are high 😁
Top vid.
Thanks mate
Nice video mate, just out of curiosity what test curve rods are you using?
Thanks mate, there 3lb TC
Hello there
Is that the A1 pits it looks or is it on the other side or can you fish both sides please . Thanks for the video
Yes mate
@@obsessionwithangling you can fish both sides ?
Ola! Just curious, what are the rods that you're using here on the Trent? Just wondering how heavy everything has to be, coming from a match background these big rods are scary!
Generally speaking, it's heavy rods on big rivers and light rods on small rivers, especially when casting 8-10oz feeders or leads.
Geez that's a lot of weight! I have a 150g rated 13ft Daiwa Tourny feeder rod which I'm hoping will cope with something, maybe it'll be fine if we're not in flood... 🙏@@obsessionwithangling
Nice one Lee 👍👍from me 👊
Cheers pal
What size line are you using please..???
15lb mono mate
Pure filth. 10/10.
What was the weight of the barbel? Looks like it will pack on the weight for winter time
I didn't weight it
@@obsessionwithangling Fairs. Looks a belting fish.
