The story goes that Lombard had taken a train to Las Vegas and decided that she wanted to get back to Los Angeles quicker so she talked her mother and agent into taking the plane that fatefull night. Fifteen young airman were also on the flight that were killed. She had just help raise over $1million in the sale of war bonds back in Indiana and the east, as I understand it, and was heading home.

Overcast hid the peak , if he would have been over pass tragedy would not have occurred 3 to 5 hundred feet higher in clouds , Clark was inconsolable sad story for all lost soul's. Military kicked them off ,air corp men made room for them on flight...😔
I haven't been notified yet as to whether anyone found one of the hidden $100 bills. I was contacted by one fellow who was up there looking for the one off Battleground Ridge but hadn't found it yet.
