Such a beautiful American Smooth. Better than last time, very clean, lovely arms, and very nice romance. She's son energetic so for her to make it slow and elegant is fantastic. 10
Historically in strictly, the British public don't like someone with previous dance experience, and they also like the appearance of someone who "gets better" from week one. She started off great, which meant to actually win she had an uphill struggle. Chris Hollins as a winner would be a perfect example. Strictly audiences are always the same.
I agree with you Hannah,what don't like is the hate towards her is like is her fault is in the show,I don't think celebrities who are chosen for the show should be treated the way they treated this girl in social media
Wozanazo I personally think the 'hate was exaggerated (ironically mostly by social media). What i dont like is the suggestion that anyone that does not like her 'hates her and/or is racist. For me Alesha and Ore are 2 of my fave contestants ever. The issue is they don't select enough black/other ethnicities enough- which is heinous! But i did not like Alexandra because I genuinely do not like her smug and overreactionary character (others clearly do not interpret the same way- which is fine) and as a dancer I think underneath all that power and 'energy', as the buzz word is, she lacks the technical precision that she supposedly has. I personally didnt think any of her dances were technically perfect so 40s were not appropriate. But were we lucky to have her on the show bringing such power, yes!?
My issue with Natalie Gumede was the fact that Artem looked like a stoned robot that series (particularly on ITT)! He really wasn't in it, and I felt the rules got "bent" for her when she skipped her jive because she was ill, then refused to perform it in the final. Also, about 50% of her ballroom dances were out of hold which really wound me up at the time because no one else got given that amount of leeway.
@Red Carded maybe elaborate on that? is your excuse just like every other troll? "she doesn't like losing" either would I, epsically with this being the only celeb competition where you win more money for doing best.
She was the best dancer as for fake tears the girls mum just died people are so nasty and judgemental and also Joe had been in West end musicals except the press didn't emphasise on. This
I loved, loved, loved this dance 40 was well deserved, the last time this dance got a 33, that's a big impovement. GO Alexandra & Gorka i hope you get that glitter ball
It was so elegant, so light... great lines, great movement across the floor, BUT I wish Gorka had changed the choreography because there was almost no actual Foxtrot content, almost nothing in the ballroom hold. It had style, it was smooth as the best silk but it was lacking very much in the content. An 8.
Digital Taye a/s on a footwork technique level should be a type of foxtrot. It's the same kind of relationship as the Waltz to the Viennese, the Argentine to the tango etc etc
Daniel Shumkin Kara and Artem did their AS with only half beat in hold, and they still got 3 tens in the final. This one at least has four to eight beats in ballroom hold. But I agree somewhat it would even be nicer to have even more moments in hold.
The Producers played a blinder giving her this dance for the final... gaurenteed non-event dance :D I said back in week 3 it was like they gave her the week off and I still maintain that... just a flat dance mostly out of hold and uneventful. Looked better without the coat tho!
