He actually said in an interview that the straight jacket he wore in psychotic kids was a real one he found in the abandoned mental hospital where they shot the music video 🤓

Fun fact the Union Jack dress was actually a custom made metal mesh dress by Michael Schmidt Studios. They’re also who made the angel wings and the crown of thorns for the Cotton Candy music video

Psychotic Kids was filmed in a old psych ward. The white thing with the laces was actually a really old straight jacket

fun fact for the psychotic kids scene where hes in a straitjacket: he went to an ACTUAL abandoned asylum and they found that there with blood stains, so naturally, its super sick and was great for the music video, so they grabbed it, tydies it up and put it on him for the video. He said this in an interview once i just cant remember which one (im a huge fan of him since 2018 or 19 and ive watch all of his interviews by now LOL)
Don’t you love how Lindevil has been analysing musicians outfits from 2012 - 2020 and they’re still only half the length of the video analysing just 3 years of Yungblud. In less than half the amount of time other artists have been around Yungblud has reintroduced punk into the mainstream in such a loud and modern way like damn fashion icon much
His fashion style is an absolute inspiration because he is not only looking awesome but also breaks a lot of stereotypes on “gender” of specific type of clothing and colors! It makes me feel okay on wearing whatever I want based on how I feel and not on what other people might say.
Lovely review, you make it so interesting to watch and learn, about trends and little details and inspirations! He has also done a lot of photoshoots for magazines and covers and his outfits are so amazing (if ever interested in making second part on him)
in an interview recently he said he was working on a clothing line so u maybe wanna keep an eye out for when that comes out, also i’d love it if u reviewed more of his outfits some other time

You should check out Awsten Knight from the band waterparks I love how his style has evolved from sort of a stereo typical warp tour singer with a muscle T and skinny jeans into whatever you want to call what he wears now, music videos I'd suggest stupid for you, plum Island, blonde and high definition

I have zero fashion knowledge... but you make it so intriguing! And who better to feature !
I'm so glad you're looking into his fashion I enjoyed this video- esp pointing out the use of patches and sort of how certain outfits were customised, it really gives you ideas. I know the Obey and God Save Me outfits were Chrome Hearts which is the label Jessie Jo Stark is associated with who was in the strawberry lipstick video. A lot of his shoes are creeper style from the Teddy Boy movement- you should check out his cover for NME where they used the teddy boy era style especially. For shoes and especially his earlier stuff (and the stuff his guitarist wears) I know he works with Underground England that I think are inspired by the punk scene. He's actually looking at developing his own fashion line and said Vivienne Westwood's early work is one of his biggest inspirations. Also- on the Medication & Psychotic Kids shirt and tie outfit it was based on UK school uniform- the fraying around the sleeves often happens with students who fiddle with their sleeves or chew them- a disordered uniform is sort of a statement of defiance because teachers will give you detentions for stuff like that. He really puts thought into every single detail. The jacket in the Psychotic Kids video was an actual straight jacket from around 1900 I believe. He recently did a merch sale of a t-shirt designed to be cut up and distressed and asked everyone to share theirs, he does a it of it himself vs someone putting together stuff for him which I think is cool. The hats- like the leapord print beret- came from someone trowing one on stage, he put it on, liked it, and has worn them frequently since. You should checkout his new album cover too and the different outfits on them. He's really good at putting fashion details on his instagram which is cool. A reason the early stuff was p much all black might be that early in his career he got told his fluid style would not work so I think the style came with confidence that people would accept him- he gave a really interesting interview with Travis Mills in early 2019 where he said he got nervous about wearing a dress but he wanted to more and made up his mind to do it- then started wearing a dress exclusively as his stage outfit- which is an attitude I admire. I enjoy videos like this because I feel you learn so much more about how to develop your own style from studying others.

i would like to point out the leopard print outfit reminded me of a leopard print outfit his ex halsey wore in the video for you should be sad, and idk whats going on with that. idk if hes paying homage to her or taking a dig, but that is a detail i noticed. also im pretty sure most of the outfits halsey wore in the you should be sad video were inspired by iconic female country singers outfits, but i cant remember for sure off the top of my head.

The garment he is wearing in the psych hospital scene is a straight jacket. The sleeves extend past the hands and have straps the buckle around the back essentially preventing the patient from being able to do anything with his hands or arms.
You should really check out Bill Kaulitz from TOKIO HOTEL jesus christ he has gone down such a unique path of iconic underground outfits 😂🤣😂 he was a guest judge for the German version of American Idol for awhile and wore the sickest neon green leather jacket with spikes. I would really recommend you going down that rabbit hole 💜 ~ discovered you from Wyatt's BMTH reaction, bring me for life 💜⚔️💜
I feel like you get a much better idea of his actual style from looking at what he wears in public rather than videos because a lot of the music video outfits are curated in order to play a sort of character who isn't exactly him :)

I really love him but sometimes it's hard listening to his songs like Psychotic Kid's because I'm finding out now that Psychiatrists get a commission off of giving us diagnosis and handing out meds. I've gotten so many diagnosis and in reality I just need someone to talk to and not condemn me. That song is special to me because Dr think they know what's going on when they really don't and a lot of them are so rude. I've been in one mental hospital with a bunch of bully staff that would just talk badly about the staff and eventually they kicked me out and I had a dead phone and couldn't get home it was so traumatizing. But yes that song is special to me if you have been in the mental hospital you will understand that one very clearly.
