hey man, although it's not a complicated design, I just wanted to tell you that the tutorial is very well done. the steps, the block distance counter, the side cameras showing the digging processes... very well done!
Subbed: This and your 1 year old slime farm are easy and well done. This is a great video. You should also explain why you only go down 11 versus 22 (or 23) which is the maximum distance a mob can fall and not die so you can kill them with a single blow of your hand, unless they have feather falling on their boots or something. I'm assuming this 11 blocks distance is because you're close enough to cause the zombies or skeletons to spawn, and the 11 blocks will do as much damage as possible without leaving you out of range to cause the spawns. I also make a step down for 2 blocks so I can throw away all the trash I pick up, and it's far enough I won't pick it up again. I also place a workstation to disenchant the enchanted armor drops for additional XP, and a crap ton of zombie flesh for the clerics. And for ease of access, an up and down water elevator if you have the items. I'll be revamping my skeleton farm very soon. Great way to repair armor/weapons/tools with mending on it too.

I built this and it works great, but to be honest, my little 3 villager/1 zombie iron farm produces enough iron that I can just trade with village traders and get XP so much faster, and without running off to my skeleton farm. I'm glad my traders have diamond gear because my Minecraft world seed sucks. I've played for at least a decade and strip mined to where the world fades away into the visible void in both directions. Now caverns are a fast way to get diamonds, and I've spent 15+ hours roaming through large caverns and strip mining near the bedrock layer, and so far, I've only found one single diamond. How sad is that? I can't even make an enchanting table LOL. Look up "Chapman Farms" and "TOP 3 DAY 1 FARMS MINECRAFT - No Redstone". He makes an iron farm, village breeder and crop farm in a single Minecraft day. He did use creative to gather the items, but it's nothing but wood, dirt, and a few stone tools. The way he set up the signs for lava is really dumb, but the rest works great. I let the game run about 72 hours to get the iron kickstarted, and now I can't use the iron fast enough to get rid of it. Iron's almost at the point it's rotting on the platform and I have 2 double chests of 64 blocks of iron. And I have 5 or 6 stacks of 64 blocks of emeralds. From trading, I have two full suits of diamond armor that's fully enchanted, weapons, and even enchanted tools, and everything with mending. Now instead of sitting at an exp farm being bored to death, I can go out and explore the game. Forget these XP farms. They're a huge time suck.
Why do you use the slab for zombies? Don’t they have the same spawn requirements as skeletons? Just curious, I’m newer to the game so I’m trying to understand the mechanics of these things better :)
For anyone wanting to make it fully automatic you can make a trident killer which only works on bedrock and uses a trident a few pistons and a few observers and it pushes the trident around killing the zombies it doesn't work on java as tridents despawn after a minute or so
Actually you can make dig 3 blocks above and 4 blocks below the spawner to make it more efficient and dig it about 20 blocks to make it one hit only thing is in this type, you can't stand in the killing chamber and afk
@@maikghost8356 well in that method, you have to stand just outside of the spawner like this W s wp Stand like that for 5-10 mins then go to killing chamber, swing your sword, and then repeat
@@maikghost8356 sry for your inconvenience, i had designed it when I didn't have access to soul sand in my world, and now that I am very rich in my world, I only use ianxofous gold farm or the one hit enderman farm
Built this; it’s awesome. But slight problem with killing the zombies and the stuff they drop popping out over the sides; even with the slab on top of the dropper 😑🙃
Tip: after placing the water dig down 23 block so the zombies/skeletons only have 1 heart left so its faster to kill them ;)

Yeah because if we are 11 blocks away from the spawner, the mob doesn't spawn.... I recommend 11 blocks dig down but be careful from lava 😅

if youre doing a 22 block fall you gotta use a water elevator to take them up and then let them fall to you so you are within range for the spawns

I added trapdoor on both sides and that keeps it from flying out
