Ah ok, that makes it tricky then! Guess you could do hill repeats for training if you have something local, but that’s not much fun! I’m lucky where I live, endless hills to tackle close by, sure you can make it work though 👍🏼
You are totally right, but you know what it’s like, you always feel a bit disappointed when it happens! Looking back, I was just chuffed to make it round. Glad you enjoyed, you fancy it next year?
@@cyclingunleashed I meant hike-a-bike, not joke (bloody auto correct!). But yeah, I know what it's like to a certain extent, although can't say I've done that distance with the elevation. I'll keep an eye on it for next year, looks very decent and a challenge for me!
I guessed on the typo, already it did feel like a joke at times 😂 Get yourself signed up for something, that’s what I do, then you have to train for it and it gives you that extra motivation 😊
@@cyclingunleashed Couldn't agree more - It's a strategy I've recently accepted as my best chance at keeping up with the fitness. That's why I've got LEJOG in 2 weeks 🙃🤪, the Mcr 100 in Sept then who knows after that. It could definitely be something to aim for 100%!
Haha wow you are going to be busy! I did LEJOG years ago with only one training ride of note, still have nightmares 😂 You’ll be fine and I look forward to the vid. If you can do those, I’m sure you could smash this 👍🏼
Just watched this, well done, looked brutal. What gearing did you have on your bike?
Well done Chris…..That look bloody hard. 👍🚴🏼
Thanks James, it sure was, by far the toughest ride I’ve done, but a great experience all the same 👍🏼
Awesome and brutal ride. You are a beast!!!!!
It was indeed, certainly a tough day out! 😬
Chapeau!
Thanks Andrew 😊
@cyclingunleashed have you ever taken on the Fred Whitton? If so how does it compare?
I haven’t Andrew, but the stats look very similar. Have you done it? It might be one for me to tackle 😊
No but I am considering it. Living in Essex however hill training locations are very limited to say the least!

Awesome work! Looks savage :D
Cheers, I’ve put your name down for next year already 😉
Great. Video mate
Thank you 😊
Looked brutal that. No shame in joke-a-bike - one to conquer another time 💪🏻
Enjoyed the vid 😊

Nice try mate. Caper hill and chimney are nasty on any day. I did this last and I did the Fred this year. I reckon this is harder than the Fred.
Cheers mate, it certainly was brutal!
