Agree with several of these. Dunhill Icon is a classic even though its only 6 years old. It will still be discussed in 10 years. Its totally unique. It was made by Carlos Benaim who made Polo Green, Polo Blue, and Eternity. All great scents with dimensionality (perhaps not eternity). In a sea of bland aquatics, Polo Blue has some wood and other notes in it though it is a blue fragrance. Polo Green is legend. Eternity was original to some extent when it came out and pre-dated Curve by Liz Claiborne which is very, very similar and a massive hit in its time (and still). It led a whole bunch of scents. He is a leader in perfumery and did many perfumes for women. Fahrenheit is classic. It only has the petrol vibe in the first few mins. It settles down to many other notes after that and doesn't smell like petrol.
I don't get great performance out of Herod, but I get terrific performance from PdM Carlisle with a very similar (to my nose) scent. Great list, Joy. Like our human heroes, all flawed, but still giants!
DONNA KARAN Fuel, a men's fragrance that I fell in love with years ago. Was also discontinued years ago. If you have a chance and the $ to get your hands on do it! Last time I looked can get about 1.7oz for about $250 usd.

L'INSTANT BY GUERLAIN,(VINTAGE) my ALL TIME FAVORITE COLOGNE, PERIOD....It was LOVE at first sniff for me,never smelled anything like it,I have 2 back up bottles,had them for years,a TRUE MASTERPIECE by GUERLAIN....

Great job as always amazing list I have to disagree with one dunhill icon is not good at all. I don't understand the love for this fragrance. It has a weird grape soda cat piss old man funk smell. I prefer elite and racing. But to each his own great stuff.
