i wonder how you get the thickness just right. Mine sucks when i made it with pork. I made the ball too thick and too big.

Yes, sweet fermented rice could be an option. You can add it directly into the soup with cooked rice balls.

It is glutinous rice flour. It's also called sweet rice or sticky rice.

@@lacihalasz Actually glutinous rice flour doesn't contain any gluten despite it's name, same goes for all types of rice. The high starch content in rice is what makes it sticky.
Can we steam the balls, instead of cooking them in the boiling water??!
Yes, it can be steamed but it will not be a round ball.
