For someone who was thinking along more '80s Japanese pop/rock lines, I found the music unusual but captivating; the lead singer for Goldfrapp has a beautiful voice that works well with the synth sounds, and the lyrics capture the "all in" commitment one makes when professing love.
Over a year after making this video ... while it wasn't intentional, I must say my favorite part of it upon viewing is that in the end, Minmei / Minmay is the star of this. Even though she is the one who ends up alone, this video is ultimately a celebration of love, and of the central role she played in the story of Macross. Without her, humanity would be extinct.
