My dad and Bulldog fans his age and older STILL consider this the greatest win program history.

At the time, it probably was the greatest win in Fresno State Football history. USC ended up going 6-5-1, and had lost two games prior to the bowl game. But it was still USC and they were ranked 23rd somehow. Beating Oregon State and Wisconsin were big in 2001. I watched Fresno beat a ranked Virginia team in the 2004 Humanitarian Bowl. That Virginia team had a lot of talent. What is your opinion bulldogsbob? What do you think is Fresno State's biggest victory, if you don't mind me asking?

In my lifetime or all Time?
That’s tough because so many big wins in the Hill era were spoiled by losses to lesser teams and rendered meaningless. You mentioned the win over Virginia that was his best win imo.
I would say the MWC Championship game last year because we had never won on the blue before but in my mind Boise stole a whole generation from Fresno State and it will take a generation for that debt to be paid.

Hey, we both forgot that Fresno State upset a very good Colorado Buffalo squad 24-22 in the 2001 season opening game. Colorado finished with a 10-3 record and No. 3 ranking in the Final BSC standings. While I do miss Pat Hill, I am very excited about Fresno State being relevant again in the Mountain West Conference. It's a shame that we may not get to play each other every year in football. Thank you for the intelligent comments.

I didn’t forget that was a prime example of that kind of win being spoiled by a loss that should not have happened.
I don’t miss Hill his teams lost to teams they had no business losing to.

It's the game that put Fresno State on the map. Hands down. I was 13 when I watched this broadcast on KMPH. I've been a Fresno State football fan since 1985, an alumnus since 2007 and yeah, it's #1 for me. No disrespect to the wins over Colorado in 2001, UCLA in 2003, and Virginia in 2004. But beating USC, when they treated Fresno State as a slap in the face, and HUMBLING them the way we did...it's #1 with a bullet. Before Pat Hill, this was the game that formally pushed Fresno State past being a Big West/PCAA team to a team that could beat bigger programs.

I remember the day my dad told me we got tickets to go see that game, the Fresno Bee had an article saying that Curtis Conway was going to run back the opening kickoff for a tournament, then after a three and out he'd return the punt for a touchdown, then he would throw a touchdown pass, scored another touchdown on a reverse, and finally catch a touchdown pass all before the end of the first quarter.
    Obviously none of that happened.

Hello! I was a senior in high school in 1992 and I performed at the halftime show at this game. We are unable to find the VHS copy and I know I was on TV. I was wondering if you possibly had the halftime performance, since you were able to upload the entire game?

I love this FSU team!! I was a senior in high school that year and went to all the games! Brad Bell was one of my favorite players back then! Also there’s a battle within the battle in this game! #54 Brad Bell vs. #77 Kris Pollack were teammates at Clovis West High School.

Jason Sehorn: last White cornerback in college and Nfl. Also, big #69 Rus Hartman (RG, Dogs) was my pop Warner linemen coach. I learned more from him in 8th grade then I learned the next five years of football. Lovely time.
