I 90% of my sets are PBT clones and the only slight issue I’ve encountered you didn’t mention was warped spacebar, which is easily fixed with warm water and your hands. Tbh It’s hard to justify $150 + sets when these exist, if you don’t care about minute details.
When you started talking about how the set comes with multiple sizes of certain keys (fn, alt, shift), I knew you were going to say these are absolutely worth it for the price. Finding keycap sets that come with different R row sizes and U sizes are hard at this price point especially when you only build budget boards. Thanks for the review! Definitely added to my list
I found your channel when I wanted to get started into building a custom keyboard. I have watched numerous videos and have learned a lot of awesome tips!!!
Any dye-sub pbt keycap are level 3 imo, they're always super thick (1.4mm - 1.7mm) and the legends are much nicer than level 2 clones due to the dye-sub printing process. Also they're usually 100$ pbt as apposed to mixed abs + pbt which is excellent in use
I found you channel when i started looking into buget keyboards, which ultimately lead to me making a tough decision between the akko 3098b and the Yunzii keynovo IF98. Also nearly got the RK96. I think what did it was how often you speak highly of Akko and that is what swayed me to the 3098b. I owe you a big thank you because without your reviews id still be looking!
If I recall correctly, I stumbled across this channel when I was looking toward upgrading my current keyboard (MageGee MK-Star) with a customizable keeb. Whilst looking for budget switches, I happened to come across your Akko Switch shorts and inevitably; your full review with the concurrent Akko Switches that were present at the time.
The first keyb I ever modded of mine was my RK84 and I remember using your RK84 modding guide as reference. I remember paying close attention to the stabilizer tutorial because I didn't have extra stabs then lol heeykatrina
I found your channel from your RK modding and Akko switch reviews. There are a ton of brand new Akko switches, would love to see another roundup of reviews for those switches like the new Cream, POM, and Crystal switches.
Found your channel when I wanted to mod my first mechanical keyboard. I had been enjoying the Tecware Phantom stock for a few months, and started watching your tutorials. After learning a bunch, I stayed and subbed because of your akko switches videos 😁 but also because or your attention to detail and you explain modding techniques in an easy, digestible way. -carolynkharper
It was shortly after I bought my PC that I started to look for a new keyboard to replace the one that came in the box. I didn't know it then, but this would lead me down the rabbit hole that I even still haven't found the bottom of. I learned a lot of new words relating to keyboards and their different types, words which I didn't fully know the meaning of. After getting to know the basics I knew I wanted a budget hot-swappable mechanical keyboard. It was in the search for this keyboard that I came across your review of the Redragon K552. This seemed like a great board to test the water and see what this community had to offer. I also planned on customizing it and your two videos about upgrading the K552 were extremely helpful during this process. The board came in and after way longer than it should have, I got it taken apart and put back together with a few upgrades (thanks to your videos). So yeah, that is how I came to know this channel and since then I have developed a bad habit of consuming all your content, as well as a few other creators (Switch and Click, randomfrankp, and Hipyo Tech). I have had the Redragon for about two weeks now and I am already looking at other options. I love this board, and I do not need another, but I crave the feeling of customizing a new board. I am looking at the LTC Nimbleback but I am waiting on the funds to buy everything I want for it all at once. I might be odd in the keyboard world, in that I am very particular in my keyboard, switches and lubing. But for keycaps, I don't mind average printing on the keys, so long as they the key sounds and feels good. I love my amazon keys, they affordable and I while I'm typing I can't tell the difference between these and expensive ones.
Found this channel after seeing someone make keycaps (artisan) thought damn that’s awesome, then after looking at mechanical keyboards I stumbled across this account.
