I’m a trumpet player I got a medal in the six grade for being one of my best in aperture and sound wise of my whole class of 4 fricking STUDENTS
I used to play this myself in my high school days and looking back at it now I am just wanting to pickup a new trumpet and re-learn it all over they were just some of the best days of my life conveying how I felt in my life through my instrument and my music and having to battle with my own demons more specifically Epilepsy for over 20 years and still no control of it in sight but whenever I had my instrument in my hands I forget about everything else and just focused on it, Awesome feeling to say the least.

lol my audio tracks aren't always the loudest, so sometimes they do need to be turned up. I did about the best I could for my ability. It would be great if I could've done it up an octave, but I can't do that yet lol

This honestly is beautiful. I have been a trumpet player for 4 years and when I play this song nothing can compare to yours. I love it. Just play a little louder bc in the beginning some parts are a little hard to hear
I love to hear that! And I know you are going to play a version the way you want to someday. If me of all people can do a song like this that people like, than you can do it, too :) In the beginning I should've lowered the karaoke track volume more than I did. I just wanted the beginning to be very nuancey and schmoozey and blendy (ok I think I'm making up lots of words -_-). So I overdid it a bit.

Thank you! I'm glad to hear that!!! At 3:20, if the slur is too hard, you can always just go from "F" to the "F" an octave higher, without any of the slurred stuff :)

Thanks! I am just usually paranoid before every entrance, so I do that sometimes just to make sure everything isn't feeling completely dry. I don't think it really helps much.

Well thank you! I wish I had some tips, but I really don't. My playing tends to be very up and down and I don't really have any idea as to why it goes either way haha. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable comes to this video and drops some tips for you :)

breathe with your pyramidalis. when you inhale, lean a little bit forward with your whole body like when you fall (dont fall, just lean a little forward) and the stand of your mouth is also very important. the higher you go, the more you make a ‘kiss’

you are awesome. why do you sometimes use all 3 fingers down and sometimes 2and3 down? those notes don't exist in my lessons??
+Jim Brisky Thanks! I used the fingers that were supposed to be used for those notes. The scale that was used in this song uses those notes alot. If you're just starting trumpet, you'll be playing scales that will utilize most valve combinations except for all 3 fingers and 2 and 3 down. Once you start to learn more about trumpet and learn more scales, you will use some of the valve combinations that I'm using.

Thank you! I'm trying to figure out the upper register myself, but make sure you don't use too much pressure, and try to think of more of a "tee" articulation instead of "tu" to facilitate faster air.

You two need to find a way to combine your talents then so you're both good at high and low notes 😂 I have trouble with intonation for low notes.

You'll notice that many times I have an E# listed with an F in parenthesis like this : E# (F). Everytime you see that it is only one note. It is the same note. Technically, it is an E# because of the key this is in, but it is fingered the same exact way as an F natural.
