Jocky was a true entertainer and a real darts legend. His games with Bristow are sadly missed; darts these days is just too manufactured in my view and has lost the raw edge that Jocky and Bristow could produce. I may be English but more importantly, I love the game of darts. Irrespective of anyone's nationality, you admire them for their ability. For their talent and for their desire to entertain others. RIP Jocky. You are fondly remembered by so many for what you achieved. God Bless fella.

I remember it well, both icons and sporting heroes, footballers get paid more by the hour than they did then but they dont fall around like babies crying and faking, these guys rolled with the punches on tour and took more hostile abuse than most (depending where you were playing), you do that in a footy game you'll get your season ticket revoked. Jockey on the oche and we lot Sid Wadell this year, great memories, NEVER forgotten

The difference between Jocky and Eric was that Eric was a bad knobhead after a few pints of beer. He wasn't humble at all which got him into many fights outside of darts.
ah i remember this well,i watched first 5 sets n thought ah shit eric lost :( so went to a friends house couple hours later darts still on eric pulled it back 5-4 holy shitttt cmonnnn eric,but jocky won,great final one of the best i ever seen,best is taylor v gregory,mike gregory was never the same after that final.
