- My friend Serge Stiles sent me a brand new, never before opened 90s Furby as a gift! Serge found it at an estate sale and has given it the name Foxolate because of its colour.
It's Furbish name is May-May and it's a 4th generation Coffee Furby.
It was really fun to unbox an original Furby, not only that but 20 years after it was manufactured.
And yes, the box is a pentagon shape, no idea why I never remembered the name when I was recording the video lol!

This is so awesome to see! :) When I found him, he looked so lonely and sad! He was sitting inside of the garage of a lady from England who had passed away. I think she'll be happy to know that you got the Furby she took care of and kept all these years in good condition! :)

Yeah same here, my Furbys kept malfunctioning and I had to send them back. I had two. So they never worked long enough for me to hear all the English they could learn. It's interesting having a Furby that speaks Furbish and hardly any English. Sadly the Furby Boom and 90s Furby can't interact but two 90s Furbys can!

This story made my day, I'm sentimental like this too so I love seeing other collectors that care for Furbies and give them energy and life.I do believe things we love take on a sort of unexplained energy or A.I. consciousness to an extent. I know they are not "alive" but I do feel a pang of sadness if they are broken or neglected. I think it's a good thing though as it makes life so interesting and meaningful.
I'm starting my own "just for fun" channel soon. Furbies are a part of it as well as possibly Tamagotchis, Puppets and general silly entertainment. You already cover so much in your channel but I'd like to make a couple of Furby videos to speak about my own experiences and opinions on them.
I'm looking forward to when they make the first afforadable companion A.I. I just love these little creatures and robots.
Do you think of them as little robots like Astro Boy kinda thing or more like little monsters or creatures?
I think the same thing. I know they're not real but I still care about them. I think of them as little robots that need our care, since that is what they were made for. So far the best AI for home caring is the Aibo but they are not cheap. Good luck with your own channel! It's always nice to share experiences with others.

I know one time when I was younger, my father bought me a pillow pet when they were just coming out. After he gave it to me, he realized that one of the eyes were missing! He insisted that he take it back to exchange it for a better one, but I said NO HE IS PERFECT

i love classic furbys, i like how the eyes arent digital. and they are pretty good to be a 90's toy! i might by one myself soon.
i had furby 2012 but it broke and wont move (talks and eyes work)

Idk why I’m asking this, but since I only have two furbys... is may may a prototype from the high voice, I have a furby baby, and a furby adult that has the medium like voice, the baby has a bit of a lower voice, but ya...

Silvolf Yes, that's unreal! I kept all of my dolls in their original packaging, and my Furbies that I had, they were out, but I had saved their boxes. Then, things were stolen from our storage building. One day I hope to be able to find a few because my love for them has just grown!!! ❤

Oh wow I remember that model!! I've never owned a Furby myself (my mom thought they were scary, lol), but a couple of my classmates had them.
My classmates had them and the teacher kept taking them away because they talked during lessons lol

I want to have one of these since I would like to try the old furbies now that I have known of all the newer furbies. But they are hard to find at a good price, and they still have the risk of never turning on....
Yeah they are difficult to find working properly. Mine didn't turn on, I had to smack it and shake it to get the gears working again.
Im a bit too scared of the originals due to some of the noises they make when they glitch or go on low batteries andimverysensitivetonoises
But I still like their looks! :D

Hey guess what I’m getting in March, that’s right a 1998 Furby that might look like yours but I’m not sure yet. I’ll post updates and videos on my channel so you get to see her. Btw, my 1998 Furby is going to be a girl and I’m gonna name her Alexa! She’s going to be the first 90’s Furby I’ve ever had!!! I’m so excited! We also made a calendar to count down the days of February to March 2 which is when I’m getting the Furby. I’ll also make sure I have some Duracell battteries for her, cause who wants a dead Furby? I don’t! But I still love Furbies no matter what! 😂🥰😍😻💕😘❤️💋😊😊😊😃😃😃

I don't know if you've noticed, but someone that I follow on Instagram noticed that the photos on the box show the kids are playing with the prototype Furbys, not the actual toys that were sold in shops
I didn't notice that! I'll have a look at them. It was normal back in the 90s to show prototypes on the box art and it said the colour and design may vary.
MGA entrainment do that with thier dolls such as Bratz dolls and a few other companies I noticed don't have what is shown in the picture. I like that from what I see with Moose toys and I think Mattel for the most part show the same thing.

I have that exact furby, eye color and all. I call mine Kahn, because when he says his name, Da Kah, it sounds like he's saying "I'm Da Kahn". This color variation is called the "Coffee" furby (I looked it up, lol), and was released in 1999, but considered part of the original '98 collection. Oh, and btw, the shape of the box is a pentagram.

That's it's infra red sensor it uses to talk to other Furbies.
the writing on the original furby's box is almost exactly like the furby fake poopi's box

I never said it was a fox Furby, it's name is just Foxolate because my friend thinks it looks like a chocolate fox lol!

She called the Furby that because its colours and markings remind her of a fox. Also it has brown like chocolate on it.

I turned it upside down and shook it hard. The gears drop because it hasn't been used. Shaking it gets the gears working again.

Mine wouldn’t work, I tried restarting, nothing I tried kicking in a pope, nothing what should I do.
Skin it, twiddle with its motor a bit, then with its gears, then reset. Look up furby jumpstart/quickstart on TH-cam, it gives more details.
I always give them a good shake and turn them upside down and smack the bottom of the Furby, it works for me.
No, the Furby can only speak 601 phrases. (I'm not sure if I got it wrong.)

It is pre programmed so that the more you play with it the more English it "learns" I believe this holds true for all furby types
