- If you are frustrated that you can’t access the zoom feature of your Logitech C920 webcam in a Microsoft Teams meeting, this video shows you how you can have access to all the camera features through the Logitech Capture app.
If you prefer to read the article on the steps in this video, go to: www.thinkoutsi...
When you use the Capture app as the webcam in a Teams meeting, you can use the Capture app instead of the Windows 10 Camera app to present with your large video beside your slides as I demonstrate in this video: • Present with your vide...
For all of my articles on effectively presenting in Teams meetings, go to: www.thinkoutsi...
If the Logitech Capture app doesn't work for you or you experience a lag between the audio and video, try the Logitech Camera Settings app as I explain in this article and video: www.thinkoutsidetheslide.com/control-logitech-webcam-c920-brio-c922-c930-more-in-zoom-and-teams-meetings-windows-or-mac/
THANK YOU
As per your tips, what works perfectly for me (without lags!) is:
- to join the meeting, with the C920 camera (still "crappy" )
- to start the Logitech's Camera Settings app
- to use the Camera Settings app, to tweak the preferences and see them working right ahead, in the meeting
I would hug you ;)
@@newscpq I'm glad the suggestion to try the Camera Setting app helped you
Thank you so much, this is all I needed to get my web cam zoom working right in in Teams, so glad I clicked this rather than stumbling through useless forums!
I'm glad the video helped. Logitech also offers a Camera settings app that allows you to adjust the zoom and other settings without using a virtual camera. I have a video on that app at th-cam.com/video/zC-Ziezj_ds/w-d-xo.html.
@@ThinkOutsideTheSlide oh thanks for pointing that out, logitech support wasn't aware of this lol :) If we could only eliminate the need to always open an app just to use the zoom setting, the camera gets quite warm and unnecessary has to run while not in use, seems overkill when this should be possible with just a basic app running in the background and only in use when camera is accessed, will check it out.
UPDATE: Celebrated too early, the zoom didn't work in MS Teams and when launching camera settings first it then shows the camera without ever stopping, just like logitech capture :( if however first opening teams and using the camera and then running camera settings, the camera feed is only in teams and even after closing teams the camera gets and stays inactive ... the only problem still the controls for zoom don't work. Pitty!
oh wow love it, the camera even stays inactive when not in use while camera settings is running, that's great. So the only thing missing is a minimize to system tray icon and auto start option ey? :)
Btw. good to know when using in OBS then the set resolution will determine how much can bee zoomed in, e.g. for c920 I had to switch to 720p to get 2 zoom levels while at FHD (1080p) I only can zoom in once!

Thanks for this video. I just got a Logitech camera and could not figure out how to control it from my Zoom meeting until watching this video. The key was selecting "Logi Capture" for the camera while having the Logitech Capture software open. Big help!
I'm glad the video helped. Logitech also offers a Camera settings app that allows you to adjust the zoom and other settings without using a virtual camera. I have a video on that app at th-cam.com/video/zC-Ziezj_ds/w-d-xo.html.
I just began figuring this out after my upgrade to C920 arrived today... and I was pleased to watch your video to learn about doing this properly. Thank you ! 👍
Glad I could help!
I knew there had to be a way to control the zoom on my C920 webcam while participating in a web conferencing. Thank you for your clear explanation. It's much appreciated!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you! This was super helpful! I couldn't solve the problem of using the Logitech 920 features in Zoom. Turning on Logitech Capture did it! You did a great job explaining it, and I'm all set now.
Glad it helped!
Thanks for taking the time to share this tip. It seems to also work well with Zoom.
I'm glad you found the video helpful.
Awesome! So glad I stumbled upon your web page with this video in it, I didn't know that Teams could use Capture, it's all installed and configured!
Glad I could help!
Thank you! Really appreciate it. This was a long and frustrating search. So glad I found this video!
Glad it helped!
Just the program I was looking for, thanks so much!
I'm glad the video was helpful!
Thank you! This works for Zoom, too. Ah, you've relieved my months of frustration!
Zoom hasn't always supported virtual cameras so it is good to hear it worked for you.
Very useful tool and tips! Thanks
Great video, easy to understand and implement. Thank you.

This is exactly what I needed, very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
What a helpful tip! Thank you! Can I just add a tip: It's important for Capture to be open while having Teams/Zoom open so that the feed is live. If Capture is closed, the feed stops.
You are correct that Capture needs to be open to provide the feed to Teams or Zoom. Note that Logitech is phasing out the Capture app. You may want to consider the Logi Tune app instead. I have a video on this new app at th-cam.com/video/-zb1OIdShFc/w-d-xo.html
Thistotally fixed my problem. My last windows update blew out my old logitech camsettingsandi did this toreplace it.Great fix! thanks!
Glad it helped!
quick and helpful... very nice video! thank you sir:)
Glad it helped!
Thanks, that was helpful. Can't believe I had to go to youtube to get help on this rather than Logitech's own website. Nonetheless, I appreciate it!
I'm glad the video helped. You can also consider the Logitech Camera Settings app that works for the C920, Brio, and other Logitech cameras. It doesn't have as many controls but it adjusts the camera without having to create a virtual camera. I've done a video on it at th-cam.com/video/zC-Ziezj_ds/w-d-xo.html.
Thanks for this video! I experience the same phenomenon when using Zoom - I had everything set the way I wanted it, and then all of a sudden one day the settings were different and I wasn't able to adjust them so that they look the way I want in a Zoom meeting.
What's happening now, after following your instructions, is that my video has flipped upside down. If I choose Flip Vertically in the Logi Capture interface, my Zoom video is right side up but the Logi Capture video is upside down. I can't get them both to display upright video at the same time.
I can work with this, but I'd rather know why it's happening and how to fix it - can you help? Many thanks!
Thank you. The same method also works with Zoom meetings.
You are correct, the Logitech Capture app works in both Teams and Zoom. You may also want to consider the Camera Settings app that is simpler and works without creating a virtual camera. Some users have reported that the virtual camera causes issues sometimes with the meeting platforms. I have a video on the Camera Settings app at th-cam.com/video/zC-Ziezj_ds/w-d-xo.html
EXCELLENT! Exactly what was needed and very succinct as well ... Thanks for now swooshing sound effects or background music too
Glad you enjoyed it!
Really simple but really useful
Glad you liked it
This was super-helpful, thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
That was helpful and exactly what I needed. Thank you for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent, many thanks. Worth noting that this also works with the conferencing software Zoom, exactly what I was looking for.
Glad it helped! It can work with any app that recognizes the feed as a camera.
Thank you for posting This video it really helped me make a decision to buy this camera
Glad it helped
I've also had the problem that Logi Capture is not recognised by teams. But Logitech's Camera Setting app does seem to work with Teams.
I'm using a mac running Catalina, and I don't think the Camera Settings app is being kept up to date as it doesn't list 10.15 as being compatible. This might explain why the app doesn't change the settings as smoothly as Logi Capture. But it does work if you're patient.
With everything in the virtual presentation world changing so quickly, sometimes documentation isn't updated and features change between versions. Thanks for letting us know your experience as it could help someone else.
Great job! Is this a digital or optical zoom? And if it is digital has this camera optical zoom?
I'm glad you found the video helpful. I assume this is digital zoom as the camera lens does not move.
It was just what I was looking for... + Like 👍
I'm glad you found the video helpful.
Very helpful, thanks a lot!
I'm glad you found the video helpful
Very clear and helpful - thank you
Glad it was helpful
Very helpful. I don't use teams but I didn't know about the app. And I'll use that for live streams to zoom thanks!
I'm glad you found the video helpful. Many times Teams and Zoom are similar enough that a technique in one will work in the other as well.
Great video. Are these permanent settings or do you have to re-do them every time? Thanks!
Logitech replaced the capture app with the "Logi Tune" app, that seems to be specially designed for the usecase. I can manage the focus, zoom and tilt settings, while the camera is used by other apps. A slight drawback is, that you cannot see the preview in the Logi Tune app, when another app is using the camera. But hey, I think this is by design and a technical constraint of windows.
Logitech has made a number of changes to their webcam apps. I agree that the best for most people now is the Logi Tune app. I did a video on using it recently at th-cam.com/video/-zb1OIdShFc/w-d-xo.html. A webcam can only feed one app at a time so that is why the Logi Tune app can't show a preview when the camera is in use by another app like Teams, Zoom, or Google Meet.
Sir, you're my hero!
Glad you found the video helpful!
LOVE IT!!!! NICE WORK
I'm glad you found the video helpful
Exactly what I needed! Thanks!
You're welcome!
Thank you - Great tip!
I'm glad you found the video helpful. The current software to control a Logitech webcam is LogiTune and I have a video on it at th-cam.com/video/-zb1OIdShFc/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for that! I'll use it at home. But my company won't allow me to download the app. What to do on my work laptop then? I can't zoom in?
The only way to zoom in with the camera is to use the app so if your company won't allow you to install the app you won't be able to zoom in. Many companies recognize the importance of an app for the webcam so check with your IT group as they may allow it.
Very useful - thanks!
I'm glad you found the video helpful. The current app for controlling a Logitech webcam is LogiTune and I have a video on that app here: th-cam.com/video/-zb1OIdShFc/w-d-xo.html
worked, Thanks
Glad the video worked for you!
Thanks a lot. The wired part is that my laptop is just to slow to run that program. No idea how you can produce a simple camera control software that eats up that amount of systempower but that's how it is.
If you just need simple controls for a Logitech camera, try the Logitech Camera Settings app. Here's a video on how it works: th-cam.com/video/zC-Ziezj_ds/w-d-xo.html
Only concern is that the camera seems to be ON all the time if I have to have the Capture app running. That is sucking resources and from a safety/security perspective, also concerning. The only other option is to launch the app each time you are about to join a teams meeting. That is okay if you have a scheduled meeting, but if someone calls and the capture app is off, you have to scramble to launch it or quickly go into Teams settings to change the camera back to logitech cam. So, it is a bit of band aid fix that has its drawbacks. What we need is MS to improve the Teams app and provide this functionality within!! Nevertheless, thanks for the detailed video. This may work for some.
You are correct in your observations. People need to keep these in mind when deciding whether to use this app. I hope we will see more camera controls in Teams and other platforms in the future.
Very helpful thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Any idea why my C920 isn't showing up in the drop down so that I can select it. The microphone is working but the camera isn't in the drop down.
I have the same issue. I have tried to restart the laptop, settings, etc.
God bless you Dave

thanks for the tip
I'm glad you found the video helpful.
That was great, thank you. In the TH-cam video there appeared to be a lip-sync issue, can you advise if there is an introduced delay when using it like this?
A sync issue is possible. It seems to perhaps depend on the load of the machine at the time. During the video I was recording with a screen capture software as well. During a recent Teams meeting someone said the sync issue happened a few times. My laptop is not new so I am not sure if that was perhaps the issue.
This is a great help, but it seemed to put a slight delay in the video, so your audio looks out of sync. Is this a maybe a failure of my laptop?
That delay can happen depending on what else your computer is doing at the time and how fast your computer is. My laptop is five and a half years old so that may have something to do with it. I was also running screen capture software to create the video. I have had some comments about lag on calls so it seems to depend on a number of factors.
ThinkOutsideTheSlide.com Thank you for your quick response. My Dell laptop is slow and old running Windows 7. The onboard camera won’t work so I’m using the C920. When I tried to use the app, the delay is prohibitive and the zoom drops and won’t hold. Sounds like I need a newer laptop. I need Windows 7 to run my old software and it won’t run on 10, which I hate anyway... the joys of old age!
Thanks very helpful
Glad it helped
Logitech has replaced Capture with G Hub for Windows 11. That app refuses to "see" the c920 even though it works in Zoom. So I'm having difficulty finding any controls for the camera. Can you help?
Logitech made a number of changes in late 2021 to the software for their webcams, including phasing out the Capture app. I recommend the LogiTune app that gives simple control of the webcam. I have a video on this app at th-cam.com/video/-zb1OIdShFc/w-d-xo.html. Hope that helps.
Unfortunately, MS Teams does not allow me to select the LogiCapture App as a device. It only shows the C920 and OBS, surprisingly. Any advice? I've tried the Camera Settings App, but I am interested in resolution, not zoom or brightness etc.
I have heard of Teams not recognizing virtual cameras sometimes. I don't what causes it to happen to some at some times and not to others. I am hoping that future version of Windows allow us to control the camera settings from the OS.
THANK YOU!

The logitech capture app does not show up on my teams and when I use logitune teams does not keep the same zoom settings as my logitune..
I was doing some testing today and it appears that the maximum zoom level in the Logitune app and when it is being used in Teams is different. To my eye it does not zoom in as far when being used in Teams. I'm not sure why but that may impact how you are seeing it work. I see the same thing in GHub in case you are wondering whether it is different in the other Logitech app that can control a camera. I am using a C920.
When I try this the screen goes black and Teams displays the following message "Video isn't working We couldn't use your webcam for video." I can switch back to the native feed from the C920.
Sometimes Teams doesn't work with virtual webcams. Try the Logitech Camera Settings app instead as I show in this video: th-cam.com/video/zC-Ziezj_ds/w-d-xo.html
@@ThinkOutsideTheSlide I just tried your suggestion. If I have the Logitech Camera Settings open, I still get a black screen. As soon as I close the Camera app, video is restored. Thanks for your help.
Hi, nice video,,, what is the minimun requeriment to run Capture ?
It is best to check the Logitech website for the current requirements.
Thank you! Solved my problem!
Glad it helped!
Great tip!
Glad it was helpful!
is this now replaced wtih Logitech G hub ? is it right ? as I tried to download capture, its taking me to Logitech G hub. Please advise. thanks
Yes, G Hub has replaced Capture. I suggest you consider LogiTune instead as it is simpler to use to control a Logitech webcam. I have a video on this app here: th-cam.com/video/-zb1OIdShFc/w-d-xo.html
Hi
Great Job! Good idea!
Logitech Capture works fine. I can manage my Logitec Brio very well. But Logitech Capture doesn't appear in Teams for me :( But if I leave Logitech Capture open, it bloks my Logitech Camera in Teams :(
Any idea please!? :)
You may want to try the Logitech Camera Settings app instead. It has just the basic features but it doesn't act as a virtual camera. Teams has problems with some virtual cameras and that may be what you are seeing. I have a video on the Camera Settings app here: th-cam.com/video/zC-Ziezj_ds/w-d-xo.html
Can this app connect in ipad pro?
I believe the app is only for Windows or Mac
Very helpful
Glad it helped
Thanks for this helpful update. Is it possible to change the background that displays during a Teams or Zoom call and replace with a static picture of my choice?
Yes, you can customize your background in Teams. This Microsoft page explains how: support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/change-your-background-for-a-teams-meeting-f77a2381-443a-499d-825e-509a140f4780
That was a great, very detailed tutorial. Does the Capture app have to be open to use the Capture video source on a Teams call?
My Capture settings are already configured, do not change or require adjustments. Ideally, it’d be great if Capture ran in background or could pipe saved settings to Teams without requiring both Capture and Teams apps being open. Thank you.
Capture does need to be open to feed to Teams. I agree it would be great if it could adjust the camera and then the camera would remember but that's not the way it works. The Logitech Camera settings app is the same - it needs to be open in order to change the camera settings.
@@ThinkOutsideTheSlide got it now - please disregard my other reply. It’s clear now the only way to use Capture settings for teams/zoom is the Capture app must also be open. Really appreciate you taking the time to answer my question.
Thks! Great tip. I did work last week. But it seems now that the Logitec Capture does not appear anymore in the list of camera settings in Teams. Do you know this problem and do you have a solution?
It seems like the operating systems and meeting platforms are regularly making changes in whether they recognize virtual cameras like Logitech Capture. I don't have an easy solution as they can change the rules at any time.
@@ThinkOutsideTheSlide Thanks for your answer. So it appears in your situation as well?
Today Teams recognizes the Logitech Capture virtual camera. But I can't guarantee that it will do so tomorrow. If Windows or Teams updates, it may go away.
Thanks for doing this! The only problem I find, is that when using Logi Capture as my (virtual) camera in Teams, I get a significant lag in the video that doesn't occur if I am using the Logitech C920 directly in Teams. (Your video shows the same issue with that set-up, and Paul Bartram's previous comment is also about this.) My computer specs are pretty high-end, so this was disappointing and maybe not a good trade-off for getting the zoom. I hope Logitech will be able to improve this in future releases because the basic idea and the other features in Logi Capture are impressive. I wonder if it's feasible to add a feature where you can turn off the video display in Logi Capture (after making adjustments), and whether this might use fewer resources. OBS Virtual Camera seems a little easier on resources, but, for the C920, I find it cannot change the Zoom. Thanks again.
Thanks for your observations. I agree that the lag is often a big enough issue for many to not use the Capture software. I hope Logitech does continue to develop and improve the Capture software because it could be a useful tool for virtual meetings. I haven't used OBS so I can't comment on how it works with the C920.
Why my source (both source 1 and 2) is written 'none' instead of the webcam? I can't open my camera on logitech capture. Any solution for this? I use Logitech C270.
For technical support with Logitech software or hardware, please contact Logitech or check their support website at support.logi.com/
Does the capture feature work only on the Logitech C920 webcam? Will it work on other brands as well?
In general these apps work only with the specific models from that manufacturer.
Would I be able to zoom out further than the starting point? My desk has limited depth and I have some people who complain lower part of my body is cut off on video while others say it is fine. it seems to depend on which video app I am using. So could C920 allow me to zoom out a bit more than the default startup setting? Wondering...
The Logitech software can't go wider than the lens can show. The reason different apps show different portions is the way they use the camera input. I hope you can find a setup that works for you.
good video, but capture is even in 2022 not availabel for chromebook...
The current software to use is LogiTune, I have a video on it here: th-cam.com/video/-zb1OIdShFc/w-d-xo.html. I am not aware if it is available for Chomebooks.
Capture doesn't work on Windows 11. Tunes instead?
Capture has been discontinued so LogiTune is the app to use. I have a video on LogiTune at th-cam.com/video/-zb1OIdShFc/w-d-xo.html. It has less features but is a supported app (still :))
Is this zoom setup related to how webcams pan left/right to keep their subject centered on a call? Assuming that is possible with a C920 too...
This is not related to how people stay centered on a call. That is being done by each platform looking at the video and adjusting the crop being sent to everyone else. The camera doesn't play a part in that and it happens for all cameras.
Nice video, but I don’t have a Logitech camera. My webcam is too zoomed in. My teachers can only see my forehead. What to do in that situation ???
Check with the manufacturer of your webcam to see if there is an adjustment you can use to change the zoom. You may also need to move the camera farther away so it frames you better for the teachers.
and you can select HD resolution (1024), instead of just 720p!!!
Thank you!
I'm glad you found the video helpful!
I hate that I can't control zoom through any other cam software with the C920 - it's so stupid. I don't want to have to use 3 diff apps when I am using my cam.
When I use OBS I can use logitech capture to zoom, but then I lose the built in features that OBS has for cameras...can't win.
You may want to give the Logitech Camera Setting app a try to see if it works better in your setup. This video shows the app in action: th-cam.com/video/zC-Ziezj_ds/w-d-xo.html
Using Teams and Logitech C920 running Capture. Teams settings does not show Capture as an option for the camera source???
Sometimes I have found that Capture needs to be running before Teams starts up. Perhaps that may help.
@@ThinkOutsideTheSlide Tried that, no luck. In fact, if Capture is running Teams will not use my web cam at all. Nor does it display Capture as a camera option. Teams will only use my web cam if Capture is shut down.
If Teams won't use your webcam that usually means that Capture has it in use. I am not sure why Capture would then not offer it as a camera option to Teams. Sorry I can't be of more help on this one.
@@ThinkOutsideTheSlide is there a setting in Capture that tells it to offer the camera to Teams?
I wondered about that before I replied previously and I don't see anything that suggests a setting is required. I just tried it again and Teams offered the Logi Capture camera when starting a meeting. My setup: Windows 10, Logi Capture started and running, start a Teams meeting, select the Logi Capture camera. Not sure what else to suggest at this point.
THANK YOU!!!!
You're welcome!
I definetely needed to know why i have to select the app video instead of the camera directky
Glad it helped!
Will this software work with other webcams?
It may work with other Logitech webcams but I would doubt that it would work with webcams from other manufacturers.
Doesn't work with Mac (Catalina). No Capture camera option shows on Team Devices.
I don't know if Logitech offers this software for the Mac platform. You may need to check their support website.
@@ThinkOutsideTheSlide i don't think so although I've set up a support ticket. Thanks. I'll get different webcam with optical zoom as I will be using Teams a lot..
I just checked their website and it suggests that there is a Mac version. It just offers me the Windows downloads because I'm on a Windows computer. When I go to the website at logitech.com/capture on my Mac it offers a beta version of the software for Macs.
@@ThinkOutsideTheSlide I have the latest beta version. It works with Zoom and Webex, but it’s a no-show with Teams - just the MacBook 2020 camera and Logitech.
@@ThinkOutsideTheSlide Logitech Capture Needs 10.14 or later to install. I tried on High-Sierra and no-go.
How do I connect my C920 to ZOOM meeting?
When your webcam is connected to your computer it should show up as a video source option in Zoom. The current Logitech app to control webcams is the LogiTune app and my video on it is at th-cam.com/video/-zb1OIdShFc/w-d-xo.html.
There is a terrible delay between sound and video in Logitech Capture software. Not acceptable.
The Capture app has been replaced. I suggest you try the LogiTune app. I have a video on it at th-cam.com/video/-zb1OIdShFc/w-d-xo.html

what version are you using in Teams ? it is no more possible to selct Logi Capture on teams. :-(
I am using the latest version of the Teams app in Windows (last updated June 2020). I am not sure if this works on a Mac or in the web app.
Is there something to do to get a Logi Capure as a streaming camera in Teams ? I am also using the last version of both software and I can’t found any setting for this today.
The Logi Capture camera only appears when the Logitech Capture software is running and it is connected to a supported Logitech camera. If the Capture software is not running, the virtual camera does not appear. Hope that helps.
@@ThinkOutsideTheSlide Thank you, finaly restarting a computer can help a lot ;-)
@@ThinkOutsideTheSlide I have capture running using C920, Teams does not show capture as an option for camera in the settings?

Not all apps recognize the virtual camera that the Logitech Capture app creates. You may want to try to the Logitech Camera Settings app which does not create a virtual camera. I have a video on that at th-cam.com/video/zC-Ziezj_ds/w-d-xo.html
It does not work in my Mac :(. but thanks for this video
You may want to try the Logitech Camera Settings app which does have a Mac version. I have an article on it at www.thinkoutsidetheslide.com/control-logitech-webcam-c920-brio-c922-c930-more-in-zoom-and-teams-meetings-windows-or-mac/
The logitech Capture app is a total traincrash. Half of the settings have no descriptions, cant easily be moved and dont have a direct input of values (using keyboard) so its very difficult. Worse still it needs to be running all the time to use within zoom and teams (which most people use). L-Capture will affect both, even if its only required. The reality is its difficult to use and as a user I have to keep switching it on and off depending which app used and change camera settings in Teams or Zoom depending on whether capture is being used or not. Complete fail imho. Logitech need to sort this out but makes their product line pretty unusable.
Logitech Capture is being phased out. While it does not address all of your concerns, the Logi Tune app does allow you to change some settings for the webcam and is the currently recommended app. I have a video on it at th-cam.com/video/-zb1OIdShFc/w-d-xo.html. I hope that helps.
does not work on OSX
On this page www.logitech.com/en-ca/product/capture Logitech indicates it is available for Macs but I haven't tried it myself.
Windows 11 doesn't support Logitech capture.
Logitech has discontinued the capture software and now offers the LogiTune app to control the camera. I believe it does support Windows 11. I have a video on it at th-cam.com/video/-zb1OIdShFc/w-d-xo.html. Hope that helps.
Yeeeeeeeehaesss
The Capture app in this video is being phased out by Logitech. I suggest you look at the Logi Tune app that I describe in this video to control the basic functions of Logitech webcams: th-cam.com/video/-zb1OIdShFc/w-d-xo.html
