That's a very nice watch. Classic styling ,but the silver hammered part of the bezel and the S counter balance gives it just enough bling to make it it a little more eye catching .
Very nice video! I like the watch and I totally agree that Seiko really should be dipping into their archives like they have with the Turtle. This design would definitely be flying off the shelves! Awesome review and excellent find. Enjoy the piece, Its definitely a keeper.
Seiko's kinetic movement is ingenious, and I shows how innovative the company is when it comes to thinking of innovative ways to power a watch. One of the first watches I bought when I got into the hobby was a BFK (Big Freeking Kinetic) and I enjoyed my time with it. Originally Seiko used a capacitor to store the electric energy created by the rotor and these were problematic and short-lived. Today's kinetic movements us a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and are much more robust. My BFK could be wound up to hold six month's worth of charge. This AGS has a sapphire crystal? Grrrr.....
Great video on kinetics I own two landmasters myself an early 5m23 and a later 5m45 landmaster. Its kinda a pain to keep them both charged for 30 seconds charge everyday. i try wearing them at least twice a week on rotation
Very cool.been waiting for your review on this for a while. Thanks for taking the time to share this unique watch from Seiko's expansive watch catalog.. Which is ever enlightening with so many variety of watches both famous & popular, as well as obscure & forgotten. Appreciate the brief history lesson as well. This makes for a great alternative GMT style watch if one is not a quartz snob. I could look it up, but do you K no ow if it was produced in other colors? If not, the example you have is quite nice already. Although the Titanium build lends itself positively in regard to on-wrist weight. My wish is not about the weight, but the mass of the watch. 40mm is quite perfect, but I feel, perhaps, that the 13.5mm thickness or so could have been lessened because it is primarily a quartz movement. But, perhaps the kinetic components add more and require such a case thickness. All in all a fun Friday watch review. Thanks.
Might have to look out for this one on the used market. I have been thinking Rolex Explorer II polar but this certainly would be much more affordable and looks stellar. Patrick what would you consider a fair price for a lightly used version?
The AGS branded 5m45 movement is two weeks on a charge. The Kinectic branded 5m65 upgraded movement lasts six months on a charge. I have a grey ghost titanium and it is my daily. Really cool watches
These early Kinetics all had a capacitor I believe, it's needs to be upgraded to a modern Lithium battery as they didn't last long ? Might be wrong here, please comment. Like the titanium watch finish also, thanks for the vid
Pat. Thank you. I LOVE kinetics. This is quite possibly my favorite video I’ve seen to date on watches. Hit me up on IG mscoggin2 to discuss kinetics!!
Not enough good looking kinetic and solar watches IMO. I bought the Citizen Eco-Drive Promaster BN0200 (Titanium). A very nice and well built piece, except for the slightly disappointing dial (that's solar I guess, there's some restrictions since there is a panel under it) and the mediocre, borderline bad bezel action. Those two things make it a mediocre watch for the money. However I haven't been able to find a solar/kinetic that I like better than it. I really wish Seiko would make more solar/kinetic designs.
I have a Seiko Kinetic SBCZ005 grey dialed variant full titanium from the early 2000’s, and IMO it’s still one of the best dials Seiko ever produced. The capacitor was changed on it once, and has been a solid performer ever since. I wish Seiko would get back to these early designs. So good! They can bring back the Pogue too while they’re at it. 😊🙏
This is much closer to Grand Seiko in finish than it is to Seiko. These 90s AGS watches are pure GEMS
What an awesome watch! That counterbalance on the second hand is very Breitling-esque. If they were to ever reissue this, I'd be on it in a heartbeat.
Absolutely! Seiko should reissue this 'Master' collection.
*Agreed.* Would be a lovely reissue.
Great watch, very cool. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. This is a very unknown model. Kudos for you finding it.

Great video and great watch. I am actually partial to Seiko Sportura SUN025P1. These watches definitely fly under the radar as well. Great movement
Thanks for the review Patrick. That is a great looking watch. Put a 4R series movement in that & it would be perfect.
What a great looking watch. Thank you for bringing these to others attention!
I am really considering this as my next one watch
Hi Paddy, not really my thing, but that case back is awesome . Great channel, great host, really enjoying my time here.
Best regards,
Dazza. 🇬🇧

What a beauty! First time seeing this model. Nice vid Patrick:)
what an absolute stunner!

Very interesting, thanks Jon!

No, not to my knowledge. Only the one color scheme. Have a great weekend, Wing!
I just got one. But I need a couple extra links. Does anybody know where I could find some?
Sweet, still looks modern! Seiko are missing a trick not reissuing these. You still sound snuffly, get well soon mate 👍👍
Such an amazing gmt seiko! I love it. Never sell it
Nice gmt master II alternative
That's a really neat one!
Wow cool watch Pat! Where are you finding these obscure Seiko's?
The internet 🤫
you indicate replacing the original capacitor w/ Maxwell -- do you have the source for that cap? Thanks.
I believe I purchased on Amazon... 90% certain.
Might have to look out for this one on the used market. I have been thinking Rolex Explorer II polar but this certainly would be much more affordable and looks stellar. Patrick what would you consider a fair price for a lightly used version?
They’re all over the place... Price wise. I’d say $800+ for a decent (used) copy.
Very handsome watch. 14 day power reserve is pretty impressive...How long does it take to reach full charge?

Hmm, a day of wearing? Not long at all really.

I switched this model for a modern Maxell capacitor I believe. Actually helped to improve the charge life... It’s certainly well over 14 days now.
@@TakeTimewPatrickMarlett definitely was a good idea, cracking watch, so wor th keeping alive so to speak!
Finally!
So, do you like kinetic movements? There is too much hate there which I think It is not well funded. Nice vids as always
I love ‘em, yeah. I don’t mind seeing a watch at work (“ticking”). Doesn’t bother me a bit. Better accuracy, more power reserve? Sold.
Pat. Thank you. I LOVE kinetics. This is quite possibly my favorite video I’ve seen to date on watches. Hit me up on IG mscoggin2 to discuss kinetics!!
I do love Kinetics... I am looking for a good example of the Sagarmatha Edition Landmaster... Always am. Let me know if you see one 🤤
Thanks for showing a watch which isnt shown anywhere else
Of course! Seiko collecting has me picking up a ton of oddities and watches lost within Seiko’s expansive collection.

“Better,” solar/kinetic designs... Yeah. Me too.

if you sell it one day let me know.
Wish Seiko made that watch , or one very similar, today.
I paid 500$ for this I hope It's a steal not steep.
sure i'll just sell my leg :)
Ticks like a quartz
Because it is, genius.
No shit
What? Seiko copies that flawed and faulty GMT Master design? What a shame.
Design is stolen from Rolex Gmt .
