fun fact: cell actually does say "oh shit!" when he sees vegeta's attack in one of the dubs, knowing he couldn't just tank the attack and could possibly die from it he dodged (mostly) in the last second, that's why vegeta only hit him in his right arm.

I did hear "oh shit" the first time I saw this episode. Then they changed it to "What is this?" Both are satisfying to me because "what is this" sounded like he was totally shocked.

the creators said Krillins line is meant to mean he's been around so many tough enemies he can tell when they're not showing their true strength, meaning Krillin can tell Trunks is hiding his full power
Actually, in the original, the writers said that if cell hadn’t dodged, he would have died. He only survived because he moved over a bit

Still LOVE TFS for using the english falconor final flash theme song there! When i was watching it literally 10 mins after they uploaded it and i heard the piano start up, I paused the video and pranced around my room like a little kid!

I'm just gonna let you know that what Trunks is powering up to is known as "Super Trunks" but the technical term is a "third grade super saiyan"
Wasn't Vegeta calling himself Super Vegeta? Apparently Trunks achieved greater than that. I hear people call it Ultra Super Saiyan or something like that.
Trunks might just be naturally stronger than vegeta it's just that Future trunks never got the training Vegeta did until then so that's one explanation it's the same with Vegeta and Goku
I think the term was ascended and veg and goku can both do it too but don't because it lowers speed too much
It's either third grade SSJ, or Ultra SSJ.
Vegeta, Goku and Trunks can all use ultra but Trunks is the one only naive enough to think it would work.
In all fairness to goku as a parent he usually dead or training to prevent the end of the world
So I think it's safe to say Cell likes fighting video games... I wonder who he got that from...

Actually as far as sayians go Vegeta and Kakarrot are very parental even in the abridged King Vegeta(vegeta's dad) would have killed trunks by now for giving them fucked up info (if he had the power) and besides Vegeta most sayians only ever even saw their fathers if something important happened or they were stationed in the same solar system, hell a lot of sayians probably wouldnt have ever even met their fathers. The idea of fathers training their sons so one on one like that barely happened even with royalty, Vegeta just had a high power level as a baby where as his low level brother was sent as far away from King Vegeta as possible.

Okay, I have to speak up here. everyone(and I do mean everyone) says the same thing about how badass Trunks is. But here's the truth from someone who has watched this series over a hundred times. Whenever the word "stronger" is used, people confuse that with more powerful. They forget that strength is just one attribute and that a fighters power encompasses a whole range of abilities. So YES, Trunks did find a way to get physically stronger that Vegeta, but Vegeta is still far more powerful than Trunks will ever be. If you watch the original episode you'll understand the bigger picture.
after the last episode, you guys should react to the 3 seasons of dbz abridged compilations.
Since you guys are almost caught up to DBZ abridged, would you be willing to watch their other series, Final Fantasy Machinabridged. It is just as good as DBZA.
The showdown between Cell and Vegeta here reminds me of _that_ scene in One-Punch Man, except there are fewer audience jaw-drops here.

Pretty sure Cell actually moved a bit because he was scared to take the full blast there. If he hadn't he'd have probably been killed. Vegeta had enough power in that final flash to vaporize the part of cell it did hit so it's not much of a stretch to say if he did take it full on, it would have killed him.
If there's one constant throughout all of DBZA, it's that even Goku doesn't know everything that Chichi does to him in the bedroom.
