Slough has been ranked the most dangerous town in Berkshire. It's been ranked the 4th worst place in the whole country to live.
But is that all media hype? Is it worth visiting?
Slough has been left to essentially rot over the years however there is a flicker of hope as we see in the video.

Well if you came here from India you would be welcome but if your true English don't bother, lived there for 10 years and could not get away fast enough, also found that people don't mix and a very crime ridden dump at the best of times.
You couldn't of said it any better brother ❤️
@@EdBrinton Well Ed the 10 years i spent living in Slough was like a life sentence and i must admit i did jump for joy once i left and have never been there since, back in the 60s i did like it there but 20 years latter when i moved there it was a big mistake. Any way Ed take care and if you do still live there best of luck.
@@9matsui thank you brother, all the best to you too
Very true. They dont care for their white english volunerable residents but give everything to the imnigrants and allow them to treat it like 3rd world and there are no laws for them so they get away with so much crime. Diagusting 😡
We have become a 3rd world country now Ed and not only is it going to get worse but the Labour goons seem to want it this way, and no thought for the true English people that has made this country great once upon a time and all those who fought in 2 world wars to keep us free, they would be turning in there graves now, very sad. The end of a once great country that once was, gone forever.
Worst place to live in UK is the flat next door to mine. - The walls are thin as paper and my snoring would wake the dead!
This is my favourite comment by far
Note; In a nuclear war and because of the data centres, Slough is now a priority target!!
🗣️🗣️🗣️
@@EdBrinton very true I work for the government and deal with emergency planning and Slough has been a high priority target for the EQUINIX AWS datacenter and a few other "locations". However shocking that sounds don't forget it's Slough so in some ways I'll say that's an improvement so i'm sold on the idea. Except for the death and destruction. Oh and so will Portsmouth as well. Look up a guy called RYAN MCBETH and his video UK Limited Nuclear War Target List.
@@jameslyddall intresting, thanks for that, I'll give him a Google cheers
"Come friendly bombs..." is given a new meaning.
@@ganrimmonim for real
I went to Slough once. I didn't stay, Couldn't find anyone who spoke English.
Love your comment and never has a true word been spoken.
Maybe your version of English is not understood
@@d1user That's because because i am not from India and i'm not brown all over.
@@9matsui u don't have to be from India or brown, it's about being uneducated and ignorant.
Thats why the majority or ppl like u have no job or low level job.
Furthermore, if u knew anything about Slough, u will realise that there are ppl from all countries and all colours living there together.
@@9matsuiwhy are none of you like this in real life
Most towns have a small number of people with low standards but Slough has a lot of them. And it attracts more people like this every day while the decent people move away. That's low standards of intelligence, common sense, respect for the law, respect for other people. And it's not just "chavs". If you live in a middle class area then you'll notice it too.
I agree brother
Hey bro I’m a local filmmaker here from slough it’s lovely here really 😂
@@Gypsyauditor it's heaven compared to Luton hahah
@@EdBrinton 😂😂😂
The high Street was first built around 1893, was fully developed by 1935
@@nigel6862 intresting mate, thanks for your comment it means a lot to me :)
Slough is a dump, it always has been and always will be. It sucks the life out of everyone who lives here.
@@RobinMartin-nj2cx yeah mate it was pretty depressing being there
Hi do you know what road the abandoned building is near by please, as im from slough and want to explore it
@@ivansringside1298 I believe it was called fernhurst road
Low investment, high crime bankrupt council! ?
Yes, the usual for many British towns, just left to be neglected
Have you been to croydon yet ? South london ?
@@damianclarkeed6683 I have but unfortunately haven't filmed it, that would genuinely be a scary one 🤣
I like these videos, especially as I can personally relate to some of the places you feature. There are plenty of other Vloggers here telling us more of the same.
But Slough was good for me, a white Brit. I moved there, from S.E. London, in 1990 for work, for a couple of years, and lived on the Northborough Estate, in the shadow of the famous Mars factory, and a short hop from the Britwell estate too. They both had there reputations, but I found no trouble there.
I then moved to nearby West Draytion for three years, then moved back to Slough again in 1995, that time to the Wexham Estate, off the Uxbridge Road, and which was a quiet place, 20 minute walk from the High Street. All my work was Airport related, so I was never out of work.
Then I moved away in early 2000, to the Medway Towns in Kent, another so called 'worst place to live'!
Slough was ok, and I had some good nights down the town, and never found any trouble. But its make up since post-2003, which has affected not just Slough, but the whole of the UK, when the EU opened the borders, has changed it forever. What with Terminal 5 opening, M25 widening, and now the Elizabeth line, and some other big developments around that whole area between Heathrow and Slough, it had gone up in the world if you ask me. Sadly, since Covid, it has been hit again, but its still a convenient location if your based at or near the Airport, and its more affordable to live there than say, in Reading or most other Berkshire towns. Good memories, but I've only been back that way a couple of times in the 24 years since leaving.
Factoid; The ethnicity of Slough was well known, as predominantly white British, Afro Carribean and Asian Indian and Pakistan, and been this way since the 1950's.
Since post-2003, I've read that Slough had a 20,000+ Polish community.
The mosque you saw is Diamond Road mosque.
In Wexham, where I lived from 1995-2000, we had a Sikh Temple (Guerdwara Sri Su Singh Sabha), an Irish C.I.U and a Kingdom Hall, all next door to one another. There was never any troubles or tensions in Slough back then. Different times.
👍💯🇬🇧🤔
@@InvictaView thanks for your comment mate, hopefully I can do some videos abroad very shortly. Would be interesting I think to show some crazy adventures
@@EdBrintonGood luck with that. With so much subject matter on YT, I'm not sure what you'd find today that is new or different.
Maybe visiting places where its supposed to be really bad, for one reason or another, as reported on that horrible X platform of astounding amounts of A.I. That might be interesting. Start with Eire. Media reports reckon it's another country today compared to the Eire we used to know of! 😮
@@InvictaView yeah good idea mate, well I'm off to Poland next week on my own so I'll do some solo hiking and exploring some soviet stuff. Then I'm doing an epic roadtrip in rural rural Laos so that should be interesting:)
@@EdBrinton Sounds great. I've done Poland eight times now, last in 2017, so will be interesting to see your views.
I always stay in a city and make full use of all public transport, and see the real side of the country, warts and all, not the tourist stuff. ✔👍💯🇬🇧😉
im working i slough now and ive never seen anywhere like this is. accepted the job cos i was out of work for a while and the pay is amazing but funny thing is most trades men travel in theres plenty of jobs there atleast if u need too earn money with everything getting built
@@RadzBudz yeah I do see job offerings there, just not in the town centre, it's defo a common trend in the UK mate. Cheers for the comment btw I appreciate it
Colne Valley FYI - cool vid, my local area - its a bit drab, but you get used to it, Windsor down the road, Runnymede so theres some history and points of interest - good and bad elements. Subscribed, good luck
Your comment has made my day mate, thank you so much 😊
I wonder if checking out Windsor would make a good video?
@@EdBrinton I think so - lots of history - the long walk, Windsor Castle, Frogmore - the crooked house, the royal family, the Runnymede/Magna Carta site etc. Interesting to see how it compares to Slough on the doorstep.
@@jamespay4354 Marlow and Henley on Thames are incredible too maybe do all three in a video
Try Blackpool
That's a good shout mate, been 39 countries but never been up north before
@@EdBrinton if your a happy person, then come to Blackpool and you will be miserable and depressed in no time lol
Wikipedia 34.52% white British that's flipping crazy
@@straightupoldies1991 mental
That was in the 2011 census. Now it's under 25%. The White British population is now found in peripheral districts of Slough like Langley, Cippenham and Britwell. Even in these areas the White British population is being extirpated as they've been from every other part of Slough. Also no decent looking women in Slough. You only get dogs there.
@@heiltd1286 really mate? That's crazy
