Most people have no access to IV tubing, so is this realistic? What mulching powder are you placing on the raw mulch, and how do you keep it from rotting and fermenting directly on the top? Also, attracting scads of insects, good and bad.
Regarding IV tubing for drip irrigation, he/she is using what best he/she could. Can't we appreciate that? He is not mulching with vegetable scapes. He mulched with grass where he is supposed to. He planned the space between rows for composting from the beginning itself. Many seasoned gardeners all over world follow this practice of composting directly in the bed. That powder he added is waste decomposor with millions of beneficial bacteria for the soil immunity and health. He covered the compost area thoroughly to avoid any pests. Anyway, the waste decomposor acts so fast, pests such as rodents can't reach it. Root of the plants reach out to the compost and grow stronger. Let's appreciate that there are some kind people in the world, who are trying to share their little efforts, successes, joys with unknown people like us.

WONDERFUL HELPFUL VIDEO As Always!!! Please tell us what the white powder is that you sprinkled on you kitchen waste in the center of the rows.
It looks like diatomaceous earth.
It helps repel bugs and helps a good breakdown of compost.
It looks similar to baby powder.
