We have the Sena helmets, would not ride with my wife without them, they are awesome bluetooth helmets, a little pricey but worth the price! I enjoy your videos!
I have the Sena Pi's that attach to the straps of any helmet and make it a "Smart Helmet." I haven't had a chance to use them much yet but they seem to work very well so far. Only problem is the "Pi's" are only good for two people, but it's usually just the wife and I or a friend and I. So I can loan the other one to my friend and he can just attach it to his helmet so we can talk while we ride. The nice thing is that internet is not required, because many of the places I ride there is no internet. But I can still make and receive phone calls through them when there is. Of course I can always Bluetooth music through them as well.
@@JeremiahMcintosh Maybe about a quarter mile or so. Pretty much as long as you can still see the person you can talk to them. We don't ever get too far away from each other so they work out well for us.
I have had both Bluetooth and Mesh (EVO) helmets. The Bluetooth audio is much better than the Mesh (EVO) helmets. Second comment is that the EVO helmets occasionally lock up, especially when the phone is answered. On one occasion, I had to do a hard reset with a safety pin. I now carry the safety pin in my bike bag just in case it happens again. I like the ability of the mesh helmets to have more than 4 people on at the same time. This is especially good for group rides. However, the audio is poor on the Mesh helmets. I hope Sena picks their game up and writes updates their Software to take care of these two problems. Being able to communicate is a game changer.
Hmm that’s interesting because I haven’t had any connection or audio issues with my Evo helmets unless I’m well over a quarter mile away which I never do while riding with my family except for in this test.
Do they make a full face or downhill helmet version? I'd love something like this for when we are riding our scooters in the city but regular helmet isnt enough protection for us
What app are you using? The instruction pamphlet that come with the helmets say something about the Sena Utility app but I dont find that in the app store
@@JeremiahMcintosh thanks that's the one I downloaded. Another question, when getting a phone call can you answer by voice or do you have to hit the button on the side of the helmet
Hi Patty. The microphone you see on my strap is my microphone I use to record my videos it has nothing to do with the helmets. You don’t even see the microphone that’s built into the helmet.
Will probably be just two of us using these with our e-bikes. Debating whether to go just bluetooth or Evo so my question: If I purchase the Evo version, is it bluetooth plus Evo for communication options or are you truly picking only one or the other for communication purposes? Thanks in advance
They both have Bluetooth but the Evo ones are just a different way they connect with each other with a mesh network. You would probably be fine with either. I’m not sure if there is a difference in range between the two versions though because I haven’t tested the Bluetooth ones. If you do decide to order please consider using my link because it doesn’t matter which version you order it still helps out.
@@JeremiahMcintoshThat's something they need to fix for sure. I've seen a lot of comments on this. Another cool feature would be to have the option to listen to music with everyone else at the same time.
@@JeremiahMcintosh try it. I do it all the time. Just put a piece of cotton and tape it to the back of the mic and it only picks up your voice and you can be 1231 miles away and not cut out .
@@JeremiahMcintoshThe one your son was riding. I didn't see him peddling much. I didn't see you peddling much. Are those bikes even legal in your area? They aren't where I live.

Thank you And I agree. They are a little pricey but well worth the safety and being able to communicate. Thank you for watching!
Outstanding sir really outstanding. Thanks a lot. Order is going in. Bless you and your family and ride safe.
I always ride alone, that was great info about the Seca helmets!!!!!😊
I had no idea this type of helmet existed. Very interesting.
They are amazing!
Really good test.
Thank you!

Sounds like a good option for two riders. How is the range on the pi’s?

I love the RX2😊
I have the Sena mc helmet coms they work great! Definitely recommend these for riding together.
Geocaching is so cool and creative.

Hi! We don't make a full face or DH helmet - but many riders choose to use Sena motorcycle comms products with their DH helmets!
How long could you stream music to the helmet thru these helmets?
What app are you using? The instruction pamphlet that come with the helmets say something about the Sena Utility app but I dont find that in the app store
It’s called Sena Cycling

Is the microphone a required for the Evo? I think it would bother me to have it attached to the straps.

Do they come in 2XL size? I have a big melon.
They are only up to a large which is up to 24.75”
Do these play music until you start communicating then turn the music back on after done communicating?
No. If you’re using the communication feature you can’t listen to music at the same time.

Just bought 2 of the M1 helmet.
Nice! Your going to love them!
Does the Bluetooth helmet have a distance communication issue?
Not sure what you mean?
@JeremiahMcintosh I think he's inquiring about the non-EVO versions. But that will be difficult because the reviewed units are not that model
If you mute your mic, can you still hear everyone else on the network? or do you have to be unmuted for everything to work
Doe all riders need to have own phone to use helmet?
No you don’t need a phone at all

Surprised to see someone let their kid ride a motorcycle on a public road.
