This is part 98 of the series (Boxes 68-69 for Series 2) and I do plan on updating it from each nickel box I hunt from this point forward until the nickel coin collection is completed! It may be a little tougher due to the sheer amount of uncirculated nickel boxes we keep getting but I will keep trying! I'd love to see how filled a buffalo nickel album might be if you had started on it with the first box of this series. You just recently had a 1913, for example.
I just posted my desire to see a Buffalo Nickel book and then saw your comment. I agree it would have been fun to see how many Buffalos would have filled a book. (I suppose one could review all of the nickel hunt videos to date.) Never too late to start a Buffalo book! 😉
I posted a second comment after counting all of the Buffalos that Rob found over the hunt series. There were 61 total Buffalo Nickels with 32 different dates or mint marks. See my other comment for a listing of the dates found.
About 45 years ago I was in Colorado hiking on an easy trail near the Keystone ski resort but in summer. I sat down on a big smooth convenient rock and fumbled in some adjacent soil… and turned up a silver Mercury dime! Gave it away years later but I wish I’d kept it.
Great boxes! My last 2 were collection dumps from the mint. Tons of 2022s and 2020s but was still able to pull one Buffalo. Please keep this series alive. I do enjoy them even if I miss the most important Series 1 closer.
Have you considered starting a Buffalo Nickel book for your video finds? Obviously there wouldn’t be a big emphasis on completing it… but it would be fun to see how much is filled (and upgraded) in a year or two. It would be a fun extra dimension to the nickel hunts! 🙂
Excellent videos, I was wondering if you thought of doing a series from your constitutional bags, I am sure you would have to run a barber dime and mercury dime and quarter and standing liberty quarter at the same time to make enough content to add to books for each video.
I was curious how many Buffalo Nickels were found in the Jefferson hunt-and-fill series. Since I had some free time, I skimmed through the video series to add up the finds. There were 61 total Buffalo Nickels found to date. Of those, 32 different dates or mint marks were found. One couldn't be dated at all. That would have filled 50% of the slots in a Buffalo Nickel book, not counting slots for varieties or errors (except for the two 1913 design varieties, which I did count). For those curious, the dates found were: 13P Type 1, 13D Type 1, 13P Type 2(2), 14P, 15D, 16P(2), 16S, 16D, 17P(2), 18P(2), 19P(3), 19D, 20P(5), 20S, 24P(2), 26P(2), 26D, 27P(4), 27D, 28P(2), 28D, 28S, 29P, 29D, 29S, 30S, 34P(2), 35P(5), 35D, 36P(6), 37P(3), 37D, and one without a date. Multiple finds for each date are in parenthesis. I wish Rob had been doing a side book for the Buffalo Nickels all this time. It would have been fun to see how far he could take it!
It was so cool to finally see you finish album one… watched ever EP:) And speaking of nickels just today i went to the store to get a couple snacks and paid in cash and when the machine gave me my change i checked it and it gave me a dated Buffalo from 1923 i have never actually seen one in person it was so cool but when I flipped it to see if it had a mint mark i noticed a raised bit it was hard to see but when i got home and used my loop in the right light i could see an S mint mark I’m not that big into nickels and don’t know a whole lot but I thought it was cool to get a dated 1923 S as my first Buffalo Nickel
You've probably been asked this before. Besides say damaging the coins, how could you do something to know if you already searched them? Is there a dye? Would a swipe of nic-a-date along the edges make a mark? You've been doing this so long, I wonder what's the most amount of times 1 coin touched your fingers?
Don't do it. Anything that marks a bunch of coins ruins the fun for other coin roll hunters. A lot of halves in my area have a big black X drawn across them in Sharpie, and it's just so annoying when you find hundreds of them.
@@Nerd_of_Anarchy I guess, but at that point, you'd probably end up spending more time marking coins than searching them XD... would be a good experiment though!
I have a 2020 Philadelphia minted Roosevelt dime that appears to have a die crack at the bottom of the last band of the torch on the reverse. Is this a known variety?

When you say silver war nickels, it sounds like you're saying civil war nickels. LOL!
I ordered pennies from a bank and when I opened them 70% of them were the 2022 shield pennies .
I enjoy your nickel hunts. Can't wait for you to fill series 2 book. Happy hunting.

I agree - Will add it to the next hunt and fill along with a Canadian Cent Album.
Kickstarter to buy Rob some wipes to keep his fingers clean :)
Another good hunt. Filing a spot in a book or folder always feels good.
Not Bad. More than half way through that third album!!!!!!!

Go Rob, find some treasures and feed the jar! Can't get mad at that❗️ 🤜💥🤛
Just keep the series going forever! Keep filling up those books.
Rob I just found a silver dime. I wasn't even looking for them but I happened to open a coin roll at work and I just found one!

I have done that 2 and actually recently i found 2 silver quarters in the same roll at work a 36 and a 62D

I vote we see how many books you can complete…. Ever! Love this series, thanks RFT 👍
Thanks Brother!
Just imagine finding two 1950-D in a single roll. The chances are low, but it is possible.
Thanks for another video.
Another great hunt!
Another fun hunt and fill video.
Great video Rob!
yay another hunt :), plus right after work for me lol
Nice hunt Rob!
Recently found a dated 1919 Buffalo in a customer wrapped. It was awesome, because it was only my 3rd ever nickel hunt.

Good hunt
very nice hunt rob one down one to go or 2 to go well nice job keep the good work
Wonder how long it will talk to complete the next album.
Hopefully 100 or less boxes. LOL
Great hunt Rob!
Crazy to think you had to look through $16,700 worth of nickels to find that 1950D!!!
INSANE!

Yes, I may run it as well and a Canadian Cent Album with the next Penny Hunt.

We’re do u get your coins from? I’m collecting and only few banks like two give some out
I’m having a much harder time finding any pre 1960 Jefferson nickels at work.
Just wondering the actual time it takes you to go through a box of nickle s. Great show
I can get through a 1 box hunt in arround 1 hour
Nickels are about an hour or so. Sometimes longer depending on if the box is good and has dateless buffalos.
I wanna see some 50 d shiny
