Very interesting video! I always like the travel vlogs. And Pete’s painting is great. I know it wasn’t finished, but it had a nice simplicity which, as he said, suggested the scene and seemed realistic even though it wasn’t. I think he captured the light well.
Also I’m really inspired to go take my paints and view the world a bit differently….. I really enjoyed this video!!! Would love to see more like this! Thank you!

I love doing a watercolours or a pen & wash diary of the places I visit. They really are grabbed images, rough & raw but wow, how they trigger memories. I guess it’s that seeing vs looking thing, visceral. Great vlog, enjoyed the discussion about suggestions of forms rather than overworked detail. 🎉

I loved this. It's so hard to do outside with all the distractions, plus filming. WC technique was solid, got the image of bridge not overloaded with details
Great! Just saw your video now and what a surprise it was to see you doing watercolours. It really turned out beautiful even if you say you haven't much experience with the medium. I would say you need a bigger round brush like a no 10 which holds a lot of water/ liquid paitnt
Have you ever tried gouache for sketching ? You can layer colors ,use thin or thicker layers . You just have to be careful not to reactivate the lower layers. It is a fun medium. Enjoy your visit to NY and best wishes for a great showing back home. ❤

Getting a bit urban now! Very interesting - especially giving an insight into how you sketch and add colour with watercolours. I use gouache in my sketchbook. Its difficult finding a spot to paint sometimes in an urban setting ,as you highlight, so you can sit and paint something out. What will you do with the sketches? Do they form the basis of another painting when you get back home? Sometimes I do sketches but i find i haven't got enough information to make it into a painting. Trying to 'capture the moment' later via a sketch I find notoriously difficult. Brilliant video as ever. Are you going to try to do some more in New York?
