I recently started exploring modular synths and came across this channel! I have to say, I really love the content you put out there. It's really entertaining and fun to watch you, very educational. :) Keep on patching pls
Yes yes yes! stoermelder STRIP is THE utility I've been hoping to unearth ever since I started using VCV Rack 12 days ago. As a former(:)) Reason user for the past twelve days, I've been looking for an equivalent of the combinator. Tremendous! Learning VCV Rack with your help is tantamount to an upgrade for a sound enthusiast's brain. It is my belief that you have a very bright future and will play a part in the bright futures of others. Slàinte
Here are the patches and Strip files - patchstorage.com/lets-build-the-roland-tb-303-in-vcv-rack/ Here are other synths built in VCV Rack - bit.ly/synthvcvrack Here you can get the Strip module - vcvrack.com/plugins.html#packOne Here's more about the Phrase Sequencer - th-cam.com/video/N8_rMNzsS7w/w-d-xo.html
You're having WAY too much fun with this stuff! :D There towards the end, around 12 or 13 min, you started drifting into Pink Floyd's "On The Run." Cool.
Great video, Omri! Your channel is priceless. One question, maybe for you, maybe for whoever is reading: is there any way to use rtpMIDI (windows implementation of Network MIDI) as MIDI inputs in VCV? I have a really great iPad multitrack sequencer (Xequence, look it up) and I'd love to use it in VCV. Once again, great content, as usual!
Hey, thank you! Well, I'm not so sure actually, I never tried anything like this. I'm pretty sure though that there are special connectors for iPad that will let you send Midi via USB.
That's so weird... The one in the description is ok, but not the one in the comments, which is actually the same because I just copied it... Anyway, it's fixed now :) Thanks!
Cheers Omri, I've tried this exercise a few times too, the character is always a little different but nice all the same. You can also get a pretty good hardware recreation now from behringer, super cheap ... PS did you forget to add a distortion?
Yeah, it can go in many different ways. About the distortion, the original 303 didn't have distortion on it so I didn't add one, but it's very easy to to do I guess.
Kudos for sharing, but as an owner of 303 I must say that it sounds much much different thant your setup in VCV(much better tbh). I've tried to match sound using ladder filters and saturation modules but no luck. While I was able to reproduce exact sound for single position of reso and cutoff knobs, i could not get it setup as a whole. Therefore I'd like to challenge you to get TB303 clone in VCV using payed or free modules, doesn't matter. Will you accept this challenge?
Well, these videos of building synths is more about learning and experimenting with how the synths work rather than replicating the sound. I don't think I can get the exact sound of a 303...
It's so clear how much you love this, every "Oh yeah" comes straight from the heart. Cheers!
Man, I'm having so much fun :)
@@OmriCohen-Music Oh yeah =)
it's honestly my favorite part of these videos... nothing like loving what you do

Oh wow, thank you so much! And yes, the Stoermelder collection is an important one to have. Cheers!
Oh man literally 4 modules to make a 303. ((: Also pretty handy phrase seq refresher! Cheers!
Yeah, thanks to the Bass module, it makes things really easy :)
Sick video! Learning the makings of my favourite synthesizers has been a great learning tool
Lovin’ your enthousiasme and the way of explaining ! I’m a huge fan !

Acid! Really happy to see you're still safe and sound!
Thanks man!
Nice. I just recently used that KNOCK module for making an 808 clone in VCV Rack 2. pretty strait forward.
Totally, Knock is pretty impressive and easy to use.
Really nice and helpfull tutorial ... thx a lot and keep your "oh yeah" as state of mind !!!
Glad you liked it!
Amazing video! I set this up with my keystep pro, and it was a blast to play!! Thanks for sharing

Found out about vcv rack. This is amazing!
Oh yeah!
So simple, and yet I gotta try it! My inner Luke Vibert needs to come out and play...
I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Only a beginner so your videos are very useful :)
Glad to hear that!

I recommend checking Hora Sequencers :D
Thanks!
Nice and easy to follow! :)
Thank you!
great content, would love to see one for the MS10/MS20
Thanks! And yes, that's a nice idea!
Simply amazing and understandable, thanks!

GREAT TUTORIAL. MY FRIEND HOW CAN I WRITE IN BLANK MODULES ??
Thanks! You mean the vertical ones? You just have to click on them.
Hey Omri - great video!. Just an FYI your patch and strip files link to the "let's build the 0-coast" files, not the 303 files.
That's so weird... The one in the description is ok, but not the one in the comments, which is actually the same because I just copied it... Anyway, it's fixed now :) Thanks!
Nice, thanks as always.
Thank you, Ewen!
Very entretainment, tk u.
Cheers!
Nice sound! Thank you!
Thanks so much!
Oh man, you are best!
Cheers!
Fine patch. Omri how did you make the blanco panels with Text? Thanks for the video.
Thanks! Yeah, those are the vertical text modules from Submarine.
thanks
Cheers!
that was ace!
Cheers!
clever! and sounds rather very close to original
Yeah, it was a fun one :)

@@OmriCohen-Music and I did ;) .. if anyone is interested I found XFX Grunge and Flame (Rodent model) were best for the classic higher state sound
Nice!

@@OmriCohen-MusicI know we can't get clone here, but would be extremely interesting to go thru attempt of getting at least similar sound. Wdyt?
verry nice, can you maybe reacreat a Lyra 8 from Soma that would be really nice.
Oh man, I would love to build it, but I guess that a big part of it are the touch plates. They're an integral part of the sound.
haw yess !
A 16th gate step on a real 303 is actually a '32nd gate on' + '32nd rest' =16th gate ( when not sliding )
Not just a full16th gate on
OOHHH YEAAH... OOHHH MAN...
Oh yeah.
Cheers!
Please do Neutron
In addition to it, i would add Punch from Vult as comp/drive, it really gives all the "analog" beef that the patch lacks otherwise :)
awesome tut!
Thanks!
how i'll make my new track:
first step - recreate the 303 in rack
second step - sample your oh yeas and sequence them
Sweet! Let me know if you have something ready :)
""very nice"" :P
Cheers!
Let’s not and say we did! Ha ha ha ha ha. Just being a dork.
