Great video.. I believe Nelson would be a perfect fit, exactly the kind of center to go well with Ehlers and Perfetti. What do you do with Namestnikov though? 4th line over Kupari who is a stud defefensively?
Someone with speed who’s not a defensive liability would be nice. The last thing I want is for us to get one of these slower older players who will be invisible in the playoffs. Colorado skated circles around us last year.
Play like they have been, for the most part, and they will beat Colorado. This team forechecks with a purpose and both power play units can hurt the opposition. Plus, JoMo is playing out his damn mind right now.
Fat no on Sanheim, we have absolutely no need to push Samberg to the 3rd pair and pay huge assets for a player that might not even be an upgrade on the 2nd pair.

When the first doesn't show up, the second line needs to. Hasn't been the case the past 9 games. If this team is supposed to have so much depth, scoring shouldn't grind to a halt just because the top line isn't generating. And the Jets top 2 lines have a lot of skill guys, but no physicality. And that's what is needed in the playoffs. And Namestnikov does not provide that as a 2C. He's not picking up the scoring load when the top guys aren't scoring.
@@pomerlain8924 It's definitely a physicality problem... And Stanley is having difficulty with speed. It's unfortunate but the guy needs to want to increase his skating speed and take it extremely seriously. He gets flat footed far too easy. He's unplayable in his current condition. They need to get him on drills designed to increase his vertical jump (fast twitch sprint muscles) - those are the muscles that seem to be useless for him, I bet he has a 2 inch vertical right now, and he needs a 12 inch. Combine that with groin and stabilization exercises. The dude is out of shape for his size so he keeps going for stick work. But yeah the second line is far too non-contact. I'd move Barron to center the second line, he's the only guy on the team who can take face-offs and has a physical edge. 2nd line is only line that needs help for playoffs… perfetti and vlad will get bodied in playoffs. Agree they need a top 6 upgrade on 2nd line… Nelson is good at faceoffs but too slow.. jets need size and speed on that line
With Chibrikov starting to add offence to his no fear game he will be banging on the NHL door very soon. Lambert is off to a slow start with the Moose but that should change. Yager is off to a good start in the dub and will likely be Team Canada’s top C, and Barlow should provide the goal scoring to what could be a very solid 2nd line in a couple of yrs. Having this depth should allow Chevy time to find the right fit for the 2nd line for this year & next. After that we should be good to stay a solid playoff contender.
We don’t need a 2C. We need a legitimate 1C. As much as I like schieffle when is the last time a 1C of his calibre won a Stanley cup? He’s a very good 2C on a cup winning team.

I really think center isn't our only problem. I think we have 2 problems (last year we had 3 big problems before TD so we looking better) I think the 2 problems are of course centers, but I also think our defence could use a bit of an upgrade. The third pairing is what I mainly think could get better. Miller has been playing really nice 2 way so I cannot have a problem with him at all but Hadyn Fleury and Stanley could use an upgrade. Now this team could use a bit of an offensive bump up and a bit of a defensive physicality bump up. So say getting a Brock Nelson for offence and say Marcus Pettersson for defence would be helpful. Because then we have Samberg back on third pairing which he is good enough to be playing second so it's a win. But yeah I just don't think that the center thing is our only problem. I think Pettersson could really help add some strong defence (which we need) and especially physicality (which no doubt we need).
