Well I'm late but basically start with a lighter pencil, use any blending tool for blending. Then move onto darker ones and blend again. Repeat the dark shading on the darker parts of the reference. Then dark with even darker pencil for the darkest parts and enhance the drawing with perfecting the contrast.
