On that 3rd quarter Wemby and Chet checks out and the OKCs leads balloon from 10 to 18 this show us who's significant and who is not. Yet these people has the audacity to compare those 2. No debate for me this month, 1st triple double, big games against big players (Giannis, Embid) even if they are still not able to win these kind of games.
To finish on this game Chet scored 2 3pts on Wemby while Wemby mades 1 block and scored on almost al spots on Chet.
I love seeing talent on the court and both got it but if Victor continues to improve his game until the end of the season he would also deserve the ROY trophy too

We felt very sorry for Wemby in this game. It was painful to watch how he would constantly position himself but not fed the ball in the paint. That must have been very frustrating. At some points in this game, he was a bit lackadaisical. We wonder if that was a result of feeling disillusioned not getting the ball.

Maybe if Wemby was averaging 25 points a game I would consider him ROTY but atm he is going at 19 points. Chet's stats are not much different from Wemby and the biggest difference is he is on the team which is he is easily the 2nd best player on top of the Western Conference. You can tell Chet wants to block Wemby so bad, but he just cant. I almost feel bad for him. Imagine being 7'1" with a crazy wingspan, guard skills with the ball, great shooters touch, incredible instincts on defense, and theres a bigger, longer guy who is just as good at everything you do. Thats gotta be tough. Any other era he would be a one of a kind player.

Honestly speaking, Chet looks better against Wemby only because he has a better team composition. If Wemby was on Chet's team, he would look unstoppable. Kid has a high basketball IQ and he can create shots for his teammates. Look on how teams are exploiting Wemby just because he doesn't have a reliable teammate to count on offensively and defensively.
I mean its obvious. Wemby is playing pretty good and his team goes nowhere. Chet can play whatever and his team will probably win. Wemby became better over the season and Chet is almost the same. Chet was the Rookie of the year because he did what he had to do right next to SGA but Wemby is now overtaking him cause hes actually doing it all in limited minutes. Wemby is becoming a leader and is the best player on his team. As of right now Chet is just a role player but a piece OKC needed.

On highlights side by side Chet might be better than Wemby because most people are missing on the point that Chet has a better team. He is on a better position to take shots and received the ball because of SGA, J Williams and Giddy. But if you look closely on how these two are playing offensively and defensively, Wemby is doing so much for his team on both ends. He needs to be guarded by 2 to 3 players on offense while playing too much on the defensive end to block some shots. Wemby also creates shots for his teammates but is not rewarded to often because of team composition at the moment.

He’s nice and will be an absolute problem in the league but simple maths normally says, you shoot more, chances are more goes in. The team is constructed differently but let’s not take away from the impressiveness of being an impactful player offensively (With an MVP type player on the team) and defensively while being incredibly efficient on those shots.
Chet was better at the start of the season when he was shooting 50-40-90-ish and Wemby was struggling offensively. Wemby is undeniably better now.

The San Antonio Spurs badly needed a Point Guard with very decent and balanced offense and defense plus outside shooting. Spurs also need a backup veteran point guard for leadership role and assistant captaincy role. Spurs may also need a very flexible guard that can play both the Point Guard and Shooting Guard position. This player must have a decent outside shooting skill and ability to drive quickly into the basket (Swingman).
These are my personal selection for guards that might fit for the San Antonio Spurs:
Point Guard:
Dennis Schröder (Toronto Raptors)
Fred VanVleet (Houston Rockets)
Point Guard/Shooting Guard:
Tomas Satoransky (FC Barcelona Basquet)
Backup Veteran Point Guard:

The San Antonio Spurs badly needed a 2nd big man. A Power Forward / Center with upper body and lower body strength and efficient defensive skills plus shot blocking. Somewhat guys like Rudy Gobert (Minnesota), Mo Bamba (Philadelphia), Serge Ibaka (Bayern Munich).

In here you see the difference in maturity levels. Chet is way mature beyond his years he knew the assignment and stuck with the gameplan - hunting mismatches and exploiting them. Wemby on the other hand is doing one on one basketball which is not a team concept. Wemby has the luxury to do that since the spurs ain't going anywhere. The spurs are at the bottom while the thunder is at the top. Chet playing meaningful basketball while Wemby is playing nothing to lose basketball.

What is wemby's only objective given the team he has? To be the ROY. So wemby's goal is to prove his superiority against the cowardly holdgrem to be sure of being the ROY at the end of the year.
Since the NBA doesn't want to recognise that wemby is superior (and yet, he's put out master classes and broken several records so far ... for a rookie) than Holdgrem in terms of individual awards so far. Wemby must press hard on their confrontation.
