Thank you for sharing this vlog as we tour by motorbike and our looking to use this very ship from Cherbourg to Ireland next year, you answered the very question is it worth going into the commodore lounge looks like yes !, is there a decent selection of food on offer ?. PS I Share your pain with the rain , we were in the Dolomites this july NEVER have i been in thunder & lightning like it.
Glad it was helpful! There was a couple of choices for dinner - always a vegetarian option too. If you aren’t too fussy you’ll find something to eat for sure. Have fun in your travels!
Having done the trip two days ago , it is well worth the money. Going into Santander from Portsmouth there is food served as you get on board for the 2130 sailing and breakfast before disembarkation at 8 am . Wine was flowing most of the night and day. Compared to the 30 euros per person for two courses at the Azul restaurant , the food in my opinion was better at the C Lounge. Hope this helps
@@martyrsindisguise Hi There many thanks for the info it certainly does help as you have been there done that, when I rang BF they were very patchy in their info.
I don't see how anyone can say these new ships are anything but disappointing. Not only do they look like characterless metal boxes but they're lacking serious features and facilities. I think some people are far too impressed by 'new' and not enough by functionality and aesthetics. They really are akin to cargo ships.
Good vid guys !! Did the trip at Easter and it was a stormy journey. We are doing the lounge in August , can you confirm that the wine was complimentary and did you eat in the lounge in the evening ? The restaurant is overpriced in my opinion.
Thanks Martyr. I can confirm the wine was complimentary, Red , white and Rose . We ate in the lounge the whole journey as i totally agree the restaurants are quite expensive . Another tip - you are also welcome to take your own drinks into the lounge and the staff are happy to open bottles etc for you . I took my own beers in there without an issue . Have a good trip in August I’m sure it will be a better crossing than your Easter one . 🤞
We were on the Santona in June, great ship, but lacks any sort of entertainment area. Or for that matter, entertainment. True there are cinemas etc., but not everyone wants to watch movies. A bit of music, the odd act or group here and there. Not on Santona, the entertainment consisted of two great young ladies who did their best, with a quiz and then a song or two, effort 10 from 10, quality, its a 3 from me and our group. Need to up the standard Brittany Ferries.

We think it was around midday on the first day . We saw the Dolphins later in the afternoon more into the bay of Biscay . Hope this helps .

Yes entertainment was definitely lacking. We were lucky, we took plenty of things to do onboard so we were never bored. Safe travels.
